Bronson is a 4-year-old snuggler w/a huge heart. We adopted him 2 yrs ago from Rockford Animal Control, where he was a staff favorite. We believe he’s American Bulldog/XL Bully mix, ~90 pounds, and overall a wonderful dog. He adored his smaller canine brother and happily let him be in charge. Sadly, his brother passed last March, and since then Bronson has become very protective of me (mom), as I work from home and we’re together constantly. Full disclosure: he bit my adult son when my son approached me suddenly with a high five. We’ve tried training without improvement, which led to the heartbreaking decision to rehome him. Bronson is loving, fun, and affectionate—he sleeps with my teenage daughter every night and loves to be spooned. He’s fully potty trained, enjoys a fenced yard, and chases squirrels and bunnies. He does well when left alone in one room. He’s sensitive to chicken n eats fish based kibble. Will do best in 1 person home. We’ll provide food, bowls, crate, beds, n bones

Appa is a 2-year-old Johnson-type American Bulldog, born April 1, 2023. Appa is goofy, playful, energetic, and affectionate once he’s comfortable. He can be skittish in new environments and benefits from patience and consistency while adjusting. He has a strong prey drive and cannot live with small animals, cats, birds, or small dogs. He may do best with dogs his size or larger following proper introductions. He has done well around children. Appa requires an experienced adopter familiar with strong, working-type breeds. He is intelligent but stubborn and would benefit from structured training and clear boundaries. Appa has one documented bite incident in a high-stress situation and has not bitten again. Because of this, he needs an adult, experienced home that understands dog behavior and management. We are seeking a new home because our household can no longer meet his needs safely or appropriately. Our goal is to place Appa in an environment where he can succeed long-term.
