Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **Toodle Lou landed herself in a foster home in May '24! Since living with the family, she's proven herself to be a loving, kind-hearted pet. She spends much of her day napping on the couch and playing with the other dogs! She is mostly housebroken, and she loves to race out into the backyard for zoomies. Toodle loves to cuddle and run to show you all of her toys! She is the sweetest girl around and is in search of a loving forever family!Toodle is working on building confidence for walks. She can be nervous and will pancake in scary situations. With encouragement, treats and patience, she is making big steps forward.Toodle Lou has come such a long way from when she first arrived at CCR. Her spine was warped due to being confined in a cage most of her life and with the help of physical therapy she is looking a lot better! We are still working with the vet to get a good treatment in place for her skin condition it has been pretty treatment resistant. That said, she is an excellent patient and is understanding and tolerant of needing baths, pills + testing. She's a very good girl.** Submit your foster or adoption application at ChicagoCanineRescue.org! **

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet our sweet boy Sherman. He is a gentle soul that enjoys being around his people. Sherman likes to play for a short time. He would do best in a home with an older dog that is as relaxed as him. He does pick the dogs he is most comfortable around and he definitely wouldn't enjoy an energetic puppy. If you are interested in meeting Sherman, the first step is to go to our website www.adoggie4you.org and complete an application for him.  This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cin c innati, Lexington KY,     or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225   . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 13, 2024, 11:14 am

Story
Hi! I'm Wero (or Guero, if you're a Spanish-speaker) and I'm a handsome 1.5 year old pittie/lab mix. My absolute favorite activity is to nap in the sun and be with my people. I will let you know how much I love you by putting my head in your lap and looking up at you adoringly. I had a rough start in life, but after my hip surgery in June, things certainly took a turn for the better. I'm still working on using that leg more, but I get around just fine. I'm a pretty good leash-walker, I'm house-trained and I get along with my shih tzu foster sister with no problems. If you're looking for a well-behaved love bug, I'm your guy! THE FIRST STEP IN OUR ADOPTION PROCESS:1. FILL OUT AN ONLINE APPLICATION at http://www.wright-wayrescue.orgOnce you receive your approval email from us, it will be full of information on how to submit a reservation request form to reserve your new best friend! Our staff will then help you complete the adoption process and bring your new rescue animal out to you! A curbside adoption pick-up appointment is most appropriate for adopters who:Are serious about adoption. The pet you reserve will be ready to leave with you the day of your curbside adoption appointment. Are happy with the known facts we can tell you in advance IE color, sex, coat type, etc.All family members are in agreement and excited to proceed.Understand that while the reservation process is for those serious about a specific pet, it is not a requirement to adopt that pet. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SAVING A LIFEThe rise of the no-kill movement over the past decade has been one of the most significant trends within animal protection. For millions of dogs and cats, it has been the difference between life and death. Wright-Way Rescue's mission is a little different than most. We focus a significant portion of our efforts on saving pets throughout RURAL AMERICA. It is in these extremely remote locations that help and hope for homeless pets is still at a minimum. Oftentimes our shelter is their only chance of being accepted into an adoption program and receiving the care they need. Wright-Way Rescue adopts more dogs into homes per year than any other shelter in IL. We do so on approximately 10% of the budget of similarly sized operations. Each dollar donated is stretched to the max to provide aid to homeless pets and support the rural communities we partner with. We know that helping to create compassionate communities where resources are generally lacking is key to leading the US to become a country who no longer kills pets simply because they do not have a home. Thank you for considering adoption through Wright-Way Rescue, a NO-KILL animal rescue. If you have any questions or concerns throughout your adoption experience, do not hesitate to contact our organization. Sincerely,Wright-Way Rescue
