Story
Meet Ducky! "Take me for a car ride!" is Ducky's constant refrain. Who is Ducky? Only the sweetest 2-year-old black and white bulldog/pittie mix in foster care! Ducky is 65 pounds of a gentle, sweet, loving goof. Good with other dogs? Check! Ducky is completely non-reactive to dogs. When he’s out in the yard with the resident golden retriever, they sniff each other, and then they stand next to each other and enjoy the fresh air. When a pitty friend of the family comes for a playdate, he humps Ducky, obsessively, and Ducky just stands there. When the resident puppy was running around, trying to get Ducky to play with her, play bowing from different angles, Ducky just stood there unsure of what the next step was. In short, Ducky is very chill. His foster parents report he doesn’t understand how to play with toys yet but is trying. No, toys don't stop Ducky from loving bathtime. Other things Ducky loves? People!! Every new person is his best friend. Car rides! Ducky is an outstanding road trip companion. He sits quietly in the backseat and looks out the window. You!!! :D Ducky is house-trained, crate-trained (especially for a cookie!), and working on learning leash manners. He is very strong and doesn't know his strength. His adopter will need to work with a trainer to help him learn to walk easily on a leash. Due to Ducky's size and strength, his foster mom recommends kids older than 10 who won't be as easily knocked over by the 65 pounds of love. Ducky's love of life does not extend to the felines in his foster home. If you are interested in finding out more about Ducky, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://bit.ly/2JnZqK5 Ducky is being fostered in Framingham. The adoption fee is $300. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Zeke! Zeke was so well loved at the shelter that he lasted six weeks before he was in danger of losing his life. Luckily we stepped in and we definitely lucked out getting this guy. Zeke is a pretty chilled dude. He is a thick, short boy with big, soulful eyes that are hard to say no to. Zeke loves to be close: seeking attention and sitting on your feet. He enjoys being anywhere you are. Zeke gets on with other dogs but hadn't been well socialized before and still needs work on his manners: slow introductions are best, according to our trainer. He is neutered, up to-date on vaccines and microchipped. Zeke would make someone a great pet and companion! Could that be you?December 30, 2023, 12:05 am

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Pibbles was a stray dog that had been spotted by some locals.  She was shy and was unsure if she wanted to be took in or not.  It was the middle of January and it was very cold.  She came in very underweight and scared.  After some good food and care she became healthy, and is now ready for a forever home.  She loves playing with Wallace and they are scene running in and out of their house playing and barking. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 22, 2024, 3:22 am

Story
MEET CREED!Creed is a bulldog/gargoyle cross who puts the `rolls` in Rock N` Roll! This rockstar reached peak levels of fame among our staff and volunteers thanks to his friendly personality towards people and animals, and his adorably charming antics. Most days, you can catch him cooling off with his tongue out after a `long` walk from the front door to the grass about 20 yards away to do his buisness. Are you looking for a dog to jam out to 90`s rock with from the comfort of your air conditioned vehicle? Or perhaps a couch potato who won`t judge you when you spend the whole weekend with your feet up binging your favorite Netflix series? Creed is down to do just about anything, as long as it doesn`t involve physical excercise. Would you welcome Creed with `Arms Wide Open` to your home?Creed is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team. For more information on Creed or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 5-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people, he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, and house-trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has an amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. He just needs someone who understands he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. No trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! -- If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-67 Blitz is being fostered in Worcester.
