Story
Meet Petunia! Despite her name, this girl is no delicate or wilting summer flower. When Petunia was found as a stray by Providence Animal Control, she was scared, skinny, and in need of a little love. It took a few minutes and a handful of treats to earn her trust, but then she showed us her sweet and playful personality. Petunia loves to chase toys, tear the squeakers from her stuffies, play a competitive game of tug, and shred cardboard boxes in search of hidden treats. But once all that is done? She’s up for a nap and snuggle time with her people. She’s still young, estimated to be about 1-2 years old, and is quickly returning to a healthy weight. Though we don’t know much of Petunia’s past, she is currently thriving in foster care and her foster family only gave good things to say about her. She’s house trained, well behaved, and enjoying the company of a smaller, playful dog. **if you are interested in Petunia, please complete an adopter’s profile at parl.org and email cshamgochian@parl.org to set up a meet and greet. Petunia is in foster care and is not available during regular open hours without an appointment**

Story
Meet Rocco Meet Rocco. He came to my house last week for an evaluation.... and I liked him so much I asked if he could spend the weekend while I got to know him a little better. He's a big lug of a guy with an even bigger heart. Rocco is a calm guy, nervous at first in a new environment, but tries his best. He loves to plop his bum right into the lap of his person, snuggle on the couch, and keep watch out of the window. He is a quiet guy. Sometimes off to himself, sometimes joining folks on the couch. I suspect he will be fine with cats, but since each cat is an individual, a meet and greet would be critical. He walks and hangs out with some other dogs. I have seen no prey drive from Rocco, instead, he has sat and watched the birds and squirrels in my window feeder. We are working on crate training and stairs. At present, stairs are a little too scary for Rocco. Rocco has some allergies that are controlled with over the counter medications. Rocco is a resident of Scituate Shetler where he is a staff and volunteer favorite. Unfortunately he has been there since January, so they asked us to help them get him seen by someone who will want to take him home and love him forever. We are grateful they did, "to know Rocco is to love him". Rocco comes with a Handsome Dan's Rescue Take My Lead grant entitling him to up to $500 in private training and supplies. Story
🐾 Meet Oscar! 🐾 This handsome boy was found crying under a van during a storm, and thanks to a Good Samaritan, he’s now safe and ready to find his forever home. 💙 ✨ About Oscar: Young pup full of energy and love ⚡ Crate trained 🐕‍🦺 Great with kids, but still learning manners 👧👦 Loves other dogs! 🐶🐶 Enjoys walks, outdoor playtime, and then curling up on the couch for snuggles 🛋️💤 Cuddler extraordinaire 💕 Oscar is playful and can roughhouse with dogs close to his age, but he also has a big soft side. Once he’s had his fun, he’s happiest curled up in your lap soaking up affection. With his enthusiasm for life, he’ll thrive with a family who can give him structure, exercise, and plenty of love. 🐕 Ideal Home: Oscar would do best in an active home. A family ready to continue his training will help him grow into the amazing companion we already know he can be. Story
Meet Frack; she and her brother Frick, also available for adoption on the PAWS New England page, are 13-week-old sweet puppies looking for their own forever homes. After being unexpectedly left with an elderly couple who were unable to care for them, these pups are now ready for a fresh start—one loving family at a time. Frack is a happy, playful puppy with a gentle personality. She rarely barks, enjoys play time, and has done very well on car rides to the vet with no signs of motion sickness. She is confident in her home environment and, because of her young age, has not yet been introduced to public outings or leash walking—giving her future adopter the joy of guiding her through those first experiences. Each puppy would thrive in a home where they can receive individual attention, training, and bonding. Whether you’re looking for a playful companion or a loyal best friend, Frack could be the perfect addition to your family.Name: FrackBreed: American Bulldog/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 13 weeks as of 12/21/25Weight: 15lbs as of 12/21/25Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life.
