Story
STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Hi! My name is Ivy! I am looking for a forever home of my very own, I heard they are the best! I love everyone I meet and I'm a happy girl! I am very smart and eager to please. My foster mom says I love to sleep in the silliest positions.  She's sweet and funny, knows sit, down, potty trained. She's amazing on a leash, great in vehicles and so lovey!!! She's just an all around wonderful girl!!!   I am selective with my doggy friends - I prefer calm, & respectful dogs and am not tolerant of rude or obnoxious dogs.   I haven't met a cat yet.   I love kids, but I sometimes don't know my size so I would be best with older, dog saavy children. I may look a little bit different because I have a cleft lip, but it's not a cleft palate though, so it doesn't affect me one bit other than making me EXTRA cute! If you are interested in fostering me to help me find my forever home, please reach out because my current mom is experiencing some major health complications and it would greatly help us both. If you foster, all supplies and expenses are covered by the rescue. I am completely up to date on all my vetting, spayed and microchipped. I would come with some food, leash, collar, treat, toys and some other goodies. Thank you! I cant wait to meet you! Love Ivy!   If you are interested in meeting me or learning more about me, please fill out an application or email heather@savingtailsanimalrescue.org All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter! Story
Hello, my name is Tig! I'm a big sweetheart hunk of a dog, and the people at CCRC tell me I have the cutest big brown eyes. I'm a bit shy at first, but warm up quickly to new people and will be your favorite shadow in no time! I enjoy walks with my foster dog sister, playing with my toys and chasing rabbits in the yard. Once we're back home, I like sitting at your feet and resting in the warm sunshine. I have great house manners and enjoy peanut butter, chew toys, and using my curiosity to find new smells. I'm happy and friendly with other dogs, and would do great with a companion to play with when not cuddling with my human. My foster parents say I'm curious, strong and the goodest boy! I think treats are the best so they are helping me learn to walk with a loose leash. We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   April 14, 2024, 11:46 am

Story
Hey everyone! Sassy senior Midge here from GLDR! I'm a seven-year-old bulldog/terrier mix who is eager to be part of your family! Don't let my age fool you. I'm a spunky lady who is ready for any adventure that comes my way!!! I'm recovering from my recent surgery and am happy to report I have a clean bill of health! Please consider opening your heart to me and I'll be the best friend you could ever ask for! While I was able to stay with a temporary foster while recovering from surgery, I'm looking for a full-time foster until my forever family adopts me! I stayed with my foster family and their pups and loved every minute of it. Looking for a fur sibling for your family fur baby? I could be the gal you've been searching for! I have a playful style of play so other dogs my size would be ideal for me! I'm happy to report I'm both house-trained and crate-trained! I'm a fan of peanut butter and have a good appetite. My foster mom was able to take my food away with no issue. When it's time for treats, I need a little prompting, but will sit nicely and flash you my dazzling smile for a tempting treat which I take very gently. Unless of course we're talking about ice cream and in that case, there's no stopping me-lol! I am quite the curious gal and love to explore. Whether it's walking around the sub meeting new folks along the way or just exploring my home surroundings, I love to be on the move. I love riding in the car and prefer to be up front as your copilot. I may be a senior dog, but I sure don't act like it! I've had a chance to meet the neighbors and boy did I love the attention. I even got to meet some children and was on my best behavior. My foster family was very impressed! My foster parents call me Midge, "Midgey" and I respond to both. I always want to be where you are so a family that has time to devote to hanging with me would be a dream come true. My foster mom works from home so I sat nearby and kept watch out the window for squirrels. I enjoy snoozing on the couch and am a master snuggle baby!! After a fun-filled day, I like to unwind and enjoy some more snuggles before bed. Once settled, I slept well through the night in my crate. When it comes to my forever home, I'd do well in an active home where I will be exercised regularly. A yard for me to enjoy is a must! I'd do well with adults and families with kids ages eight and up. A cat-free home is best for me. I will need some time to decompress and relax, so please be patient with me! I promise I'm worth the wait! If you have a family fur baby you'd like me to meet, I'm game anytime. If I sound like the pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and fill out an application! My friends at GLDR will be in touch soon!
