Story
This gorgeous, big chocolatey head is so kissable! Hershel is estimated to be about 2 years old and he is 55 pounds of love. Hershel is a sensitive, attentive, and playful sweetie who can’t wait to be a part of a loving family. He just craves affection and loves to lean into you, what a snuggle bug. He is very engaged with you and can be a bit goofy too, which is the best! Hershel really likes soft toys and releases them with a soft mouth, good boy. With a playful and sometimes jumpy personality, Hershel will need his future owners to help build his confidence and teach him basic manners. He will need a leader who he can rely on. If you're looking for a very loving dog with a big heart, Hershel is the one for you! He will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Hershel would love to meet them. He has an excited approach with other dogs that moves into “all in” play. He also “checks in” with you, seeking direction. If you are interested in Hershel and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you. *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
Meet Teddy! This 4-year-old, 60lb hunk of love is the sweetest, gentlest mush you’ll ever meet! Teddy is crate trained, incredibly polite, and takes treats like a gentleman (just his lips!). He’s a mellow couch hippo who’s always down for snacks, cuddles, and the occasional zoomie. He knows his basics—Sit, Down, Shake, Wait, Kennel—and is learning new tricks every day. Though a bit shy with water and sudden movements (he’s had a rough past), he’s making amazing progress with patience and love. Teddy adores butt scratches, stuffies, and his foster sibling, and he’s happy to chill on his own or soak up affection with a surprised little wiggle. He’s a happy-go-lucky guy who could slide right into just about any home. Currently undergoing heartworm treatment (he’s already started meds), Teddy is ready to keep healing in a forever home full of kindness and snacks. Teddy is the good-est boy—and he can’t wait to meet you!

Story
Romeo is an amazing pet who needs a family who can provide him with all the love he needs. Romeo is being rehomed due to lack of space, time, and a growing family. Romeo has been trained with an e-collar that he’s still using and is also cage trained. Romeo is registered with the ABKC. He’s very active, friendly, loves people, and requires a lot of playtime and attention. Our ideal family would have a lot of space inside and outside for Romeo as well. Me and my husband love Romeo so much, but we want to do what’s best for him so he can live a fulfilling life.

Nash - tiger stripes, brownie mix, java chip frappe, defender of the galaxy is here! I will protect your veggie garden from any invaders!  I love cuddles so much! You’ll save on heating costs in the winter because I am your heated blanket! My friends tell me I am part dog, part weighted blanket!  I love people and doggy friends so much! I am nice to every person I meet, and I especially love when my people come home! I always greet my humans with a stuffie when they come home! And my fav party trick is showing everyone my very good “sit” & “paw”! With my doggy friends, I love to play! I go at their pace, never growling or biting back, even when some of my friends can get spicy! I love to play tug of war with my humans and absolutely love my walkies! Exploring the great outdoors then coming back home for a FAT nap is my jam! I used to live with cats when I was younger, and I’d be open to hanging with the felines again!  I am a great house guest - house trained and able to be left home alone without supervision! I won’t tear up any of your cozy furniture because I’ll be napping on it, waiting for you to come home! I let my foster mom wipe my paws too after every walk! I have such good manners - won’t drag mud through your home! Going on vacation? No problem! I love car rides and adventures - take me with! No dogs allowed? No problem! I am the bestest boy in doggy day care! I love playing with my doggy friends in boarding!  I take anti-anxiety medications twice a day because who doesn’t in this day and age?! But I take my meds easily, and my foster family & LDDR are showering me with love and helping me decrease my meds!  I am such a good boy and am eager to park a permanent place in your home and heart! Let’s be best friends forever! LDDR will even pay for training sessions with my adopters because they want me to find my FUREVER home!  Click here to watch a video of Nash.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. April 7, 2025, 7:49 pm
