Story
Hello, my name is Tig! I'm a big sweetheart hunk of a dog, and the people at CCRC tell me I have the cutest big brown eyes. I'm a bit shy at first, but warm up quickly to new people and will be your favorite shadow in no time! I enjoy walks with my foster dog sister, playing with my toys and chasing rabbits in the yard. Once we're back home, I like sitting at your feet and resting in the warm sunshine. I have great house manners and enjoy peanut butter, chew toys, and using my curiosity to find new smells. I'm happy and friendly with other dogs, and would do great with a companion to play with when not cuddling with my human. My foster parents say I'm curious, strong and the goodest boy! I think treats are the best so they are helping me learn to walk with a loose leash. We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   April 28, 2024, 9:24 pm

Story
We just can’t with the pouty lips, how cute can one dog be! Beanie is estimated to be about 1.5 years old and weighs 45 pounds. Meet Beanie, an adorable young lady with a wiggle in her step and a happy heart full of love! We fear she may have not been treated very well in her past, Beanie is very hand shy and jumpy at times like she has been hit regularly, the poor sweet baby. Even with that, her wiggle butt never stops, just hoping for a little praise and love. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite, so she is hoping her new family is up for a few of those. Beanie will need an adopter who can provide leadership, structure and be able to work on building her confidence and trust. She can also be mouthy, so she will need some work on this. She can't wait to find her forever home and start a new, caring, happy life with you. Come meet this sweet girl today and see her adorable wiggle for yourself! Beanie will need an active home where any children are at least 13 years old. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Beanie would love to meet them. She can shy away a bit at first meeting, but once she is comfortable, she has friendly, loose interactions. If you are interested in Beanie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
**in a foster home and not at the kennel** My name is Star. I am about as friendly as they come and am just a happy girl. I can’t wait to greet every human I meet...they may have food! I have hung out with many dogs and I like them all just fine. The chiller ones are more my speed, my body can’t handle the spunky ones jumping all over me. Besides, they usually do not have food for me so I am pretty indifferent to their presence. Same with the cats that I have met. I am more focused on where the food, oops, I mean the people are. Alright alright I’ll admit that I may have put on a few pounds over the years. Yeah I’m a little round in the middle. Weighing in at 60 lbs of low-riding beautiful bully mix. Maybe we can work together and get in better shape together? I’m an older gal...pushing 7.5 years young but don’t let my age fool you. I’m still up for a good time. I love to play dress up and strut around then pose for the camera...maybe I was meant to be a full figure model? My favorite pastime is being close to you. We can watch some tv on the couch, snuggle up close, or go for walks around the neighborhood. I’m not much of a talker but I am a great listener. We could go for a nice stroll together down memory lane. I am looking for a family that is committed and can continue to provide me with daily care for my eyes. I need eye drops twice a day. I could also greatly benefit from a little exercise. I would love to get my girlish figure back! I can be pushy and selfish with food, I am looking for an experienced adult only home that is ready for a best friend! I can’t wait to meet you! ~Star If you think you and I could be a good match and you are over 21 years old, come meet me during open hours and/or send in an application for me at k9stray.com. My friends at k9 will be in touch. K9 looks forward to helping you find your new best friend...hopefully it’s me! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.*

Story
STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Hi! My name is Ivy! I am looking for a forever home of my very own, I heard they are the best! I love everyone I meet and I'm a happy girl! I am very smart and eager to please. My foster mom says I love to sleep in the silliest positions.  She's sweet and funny, knows sit, down, potty trained. She's amazing on a leash, great in vehicles and so lovey!!! She's just an all around wonderful girl!!!   I am selective with my doggy friends - I prefer calm, & respectful dogs and am not tolerant of rude or obnoxious dogs.   I haven't met a cat yet.   I love kids, but I sometimes don't know my size so I would be best with older, dog saavy children. I may look a little bit different because I have a cleft lip, but it's not a cleft palate though, so it doesn't affect me one bit other than making me EXTRA cute! If you are interested in fostering me to help me find my forever home, please reach out because my current mom is experiencing some major health complications and it would greatly help us both. If you foster, all supplies and expenses are covered by the rescue. I am completely up to date on all my vetting, spayed and microchipped. I would come with some food, leash, collar, treat, toys and some other goodies. Thank you! I cant wait to meet you! Love Ivy!   If you are interested in meeting me or learning more about me, please fill out an application or email heather@savingtailsanimalrescue.org All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
