Story
Hi, I’m Brunswick — but you can call me your new best friend. I’m 75 lbs of charm, fluff, and tail wags, with a smile so dazzling it should come with a warning label. I’m about 7 years young and living life like every day is my birthday (except with fewer hats and more belly rubs). I came to the shelter as a stray and needed some medical TLC. The humans here helped me out big time, but the doc says I’ve got something called “high grade mast cell cancer.” Sounds fancy, right? Basically, it means I’ve got limited time — but don’t worry, I haven’t read the prognosis, so I’m still busy living my best life. Right now, I feel great! I love walks, sniffing literally everything, and spreading joy like it’s my job (because it is). I’m not looking for a lifetime — just a heart and a couch to call my own for whatever time I’ve got. Think of me as a limited-edition lovebug: rare, sweet, and worth every second. Let’s make some memories. You bring the snacks, I’ll bring the smiles. Love, Brunswick Available at the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Birdsboro Pa 19508, KL#1257

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. King deserves a Christmas miracle. Could it be you? King is a tender-hearted 1-year-old bully mix who was abandoned and left to fend for himself. The kind person who found him is keeping him safe for now, but he can’t stay there forever. What he needs—what he deserves—is a soft place to land and a human to believe in him. Despite everything he’s been through, King is still full of hope. He’s a lively little guy who lights up for playtime, then burrows into blankets like he’s trying to wrap himself in the warmth he’s been missing. Because he spent so much time alone, he’ll need patient help with housetraining, but he tries so hard to get things right. His heart is in every effort. He plays well with dogs who don’t mind his puppyish enthusiasm, and he’d do best in a home without cats. He’s strong, a bit wiggly, and still learning his leash manners, but he offers something rare in return: the joy of watching a once-forgotten dog grow into the bright, steady soul he was meant to be.   We are unsure how he will do with small children so a meet and greet would be required. King isn’t just looking for a home. He’s looking for a chance. A chance to be loved. A chance to feel safe. A chance to finally belong. If you can open your heart and your home—fostering or adopting—King could have the Christmas he’s been waiting for.And you’ll gain a grateful companion who will treasure you in ways only a rescued dog can. King is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER : Lively, Lovely, LaLa, aka Lala-palooza, Lala-pop! PERSONALITY : It's hard to believe that Lala hasn't been snapped up as yet. She's smart and loves everyone she meets. This energetic girl loves fresh veggies, fruit, ice cubes and a vigorous "butt scratch." Have you ever had that friend or relative that overstays their welcome? You know you have. Do not despair as there is a solution. Lala definitely has the bulldog "toots" that are guaranteed to clear out a room (or unwanted guests). Just remember to "breathe through your mouth". :) If you're looking for a dog with the personality of a potato, Lala is not the dog for you; lazy is not in Lala's DNA. If you want a hiking or running companion or a dog (with training) that would excel in lure coursing, agility, fly ball or any other high energy sport, Lala's your girl. Ahhh, if only there were a way to harness all that energy. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES : Lala is a high energy pup that loves to fetch... though she hasn't quite grasped the idea of releasing yet, she is working on it. Lala is a pup that never passes up the opportunity for a good game of tug of war. MEDICAL ISSUES : None. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME : Lala would do best in an active home with a fenced yard where she can run around to her heart’s content and burn some of that high energy off. Lala can quite play rough with other dogs. A home where she the only dog soaking up the attention or a home with another large dog that matches her energy would be best. Kids older than 12 would be best as Lala may knock a smaller child down. Lala would greatly benefit from positive reinforcement obedience classes. Though Lala loves to go for a ride, she does get car sick so best not to feed her before she hops in the car.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Important notes before applying. Approved adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and Kentucky. You must be at least 21 years of age to apply and legally sign our contract for adoption. Applications must be completed by the homeowner.  We do not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. If you are renting, and you are applying to adopt a dog that is not a giant breed, permission to adopt an animal must be obtained from the landlord or property owner. We do not adopt giant breed dogs to homes with children under 6 years of age. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Applications will be denied if anyone residing in the household has a record indicating drug/alcohol abuse, theft, or violence. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. &#226&#128&#139Any inside steps to which the dog(s) have access, must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. Homes with highly varnished floors must have non-slip area rugs or mats wherever your animal walks or rests frequently.  **Puppy Adoption Policy** To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months. Certain large-breed dogs should not be sterilized prior to 12 - 18 months of age.  If you adopt an intact puppy, you will sign an adoption contract agreeing to have the dog sterilized at your expense at the time your veterinarian recommends. Proof of sterilization must be provided to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue as soon as the procedure is completed.  If the puppy is not sterilized as required, Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to claim legal ownership of the dog.  For additional information please review our FAQs or contact mastiffstomutts@gmail.com **Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to approve or deny any adoption that occurs through this organization without disclosure.  We reserve the right to make exceptions for special circumstances. **PA Kennel License: 05845   October 29, 2025, 7:16 pm

Story
Gemini has been with us for a little over a month! She is a joy to have around and is great with kids, and other animals. She is a boxer- may be mixed with something else but all the information I was given was her breed was a boxer; she is 4, I’m not too sure if she has her shots, and she is not spayed. I planned to do all of this as I wanted to keep her, but do to unforeseen circumstances I cannot. She loves to be loved and needs affection. I got her from a family member who was going to take she to the shelter. My grandmother however will not let me keep her here much longer. I’m not so concerned about money as I am that she goes to a home with love and care. I have dog food, diapers, treats, and toys you can take with you!! Please give Gemini a good home!
