Story
Hi, I’m Casper! Yes, that Casper, the friendly kind! I’m an all white American Bulldog/Pitbull mix with the softest heart and the politest manners you’ve ever seen. I have a cleft lip, which gives me extra character but zero problems. I eat, drink, and live my best life just like any other good boy (promise!). I currently live in a foster home with a super nice lady human, a small lady dog and some cats, and guess what? We’re all friends! I’m very respectful, very gentle, and honestly just happy to be included. I’d love a home with another dog because having a buddy helps me feel confident and comfy, like emotional support, but fuzzier. Let’s talk lifestyle. I am house broken, crate trained and a true gentleman. I don’t jump on people, I don’t counter surf, and I would never go through your trash, because what’s yours is yours babe! I only eat food that is lovingly placed into my very own glorified dog bowl. Potty time? I prefer a fenced in back yard to have my alone time over pottying on a leash with a supervisor. You know, a little privacy during these vulnerable moments. Now for the important stuff: Favorite hobby: Nap time Free time activity: Testing every bed to find the perfect nap spot Best pastime: Dreaming about napping I give the softest, sweetest kisses and take pride in being extremely polite. I also have a short, crinkly tail that my foster mom says adds a lot of pizzazz, idk what that means but it sounds cool right? I don’t really wag it… instead, when I’m happy, I shake my whole booty. Sometimes that turns into full-body happy boy shakes. Think Dancing With the Stars, but make it Casper the Ghost Edition. If you’re looking for a gentle soul, a professional nap companion, and a very good boy who will love you quietly and deeply… I might just be your guy! Available at the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Birdsboro Pa 19508, KL#1257

Story
My grandmother died a few years ago and so my uncle gave my grandfather a dog to keep him company. A dog that he did not ask for nor want. My grandfather has his own heath issues so he could not care for this dog. We took Otis in to avoid him going to a shelter. We can not give him the attention and care he need however amongst some other life changes that will be happening. He was previously found as a stray roaming Honey Brook, PA. Otis is a couch potato as he is an elderly dog. He is fine around cats as I have 5 and doesn’t have an issue with them. He also is fine around other dogs although he hasn’t been around a lot of other dogs. He does have chronic ear infections and a corkscrew tail that is susceptible to infection. He needs to be chemically restrained when going to the vet as he will try to snap and bite at you, especially if you’re trying to clean his ears. I’m hoping to find him and home that can and is able to provide him the care he needs during his golden years.

Story
KENNEL ID #18804 Meet Duck — Your New Couch Buddy Duck is a big, sweet, laid-back lovebug who’s ready to settle into a real home. This easygoing guy is happiest relaxing on the couch, going for nice leash walks, and hanging out with his people. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion, Duck is your guy. Duck was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee just in time and is now safe, fully vetted, and preparing for his fresh start. He’s a house-trained, neutered boy who stays inside all night with no accidents. Duck walks well on leash, knows basic commands, and gets along beautifully with children, other dogs, and even cats. Weighing about 80 lbs, Duck is a sturdy, gentle presence with a soft heart. While his paperwork lists him as 4 years old, we believe he may be closer to 6–7 years old, which means you get all the perks of a mature dog—calm, predictable, and past the wild puppy stage. Duck would love a home where he can relax, be loved, and maybe share his days with a buddy who enjoys the simple things in life. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key best friend who’s already done the hard work of growing up, Duck is ready to meet you.  be your new best friend? Duck is hanging out with his rescuer and foster mom, Carol, in Tennessee. If you have any questions, please email her at  abandonedangelsinc@gmail.com . Story
Charlie is a big-headed, low-riding hunk of a dog who knows how to work a runway—especially when he’s sporting his fashionable male wraps. This 60-pound brindle bundle is packed with personality and charm. Is he housetrained? Well… probably. But Charlie is also known for marking his territory in some creative ways, including on his foster siblings—and occasionally even his foster mom! His foster says it just adds to his “extra” personality. Despite his quirks, Charlie is a total character who will keep you laughing and on your toes. With his unique looks and his confident strut, he’s impossible not to notice. If you’re looking for a dog who’s full of spunk, style, and love, Charlie just might be your guy. Note:  Charlie is currently being treated for heartworms. Please do not let this scare you away. Heartworm is not contagious and is curable. For more information on Heartworm, how we treat it and what it means for an adopter, please email mostlymuttz@gmail.com Charlie is seeking a foster home or a foster-to-adopt home (two week trial period). You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER : Lively, Lovely, LaLa, aka Lala-palooza, Lala-pop! PERSONALITY : It's hard to believe that Lala hasn't been snapped up as yet. She's smart and loves everyone she meets. This energetic girl loves fresh veggies, fruit, ice cubes and a vigorous "butt scratch." Have you ever had that friend or relative that overstays their welcome? You know you have. Do not despair as there is a solution. Lala definitely has the bulldog "toots" that are guaranteed to clear out a room (or unwanted guests). Just remember to "breathe through your mouth". :) If you're looking for a dog with the personality of a potato, Lala is not the dog for you; lazy is not in Lala's DNA. If you want a hiking or running companion or a dog (with training) that would excel in lure coursing, agility, fly ball or any other high energy sport, Lala's your girl. Ahhh, if only there were a way to harness all that energy. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES : Lala is a high energy pup that loves to fetch... though she hasn't quite grasped the idea of releasing yet, she is working on it. Lala is a pup that never passes up the opportunity for a good game of tug of war. MEDICAL ISSUES : None. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME : Lala would do best in an active home with a fenced yard where she can run around to her heart’s content and burn some of that high energy off. Lala can quite play rough with other dogs. A home where she the only dog soaking up the attention or a home with another large male dog that matches her energy would be best. Kids older than 12 would be best as Lala may knock a smaller child down. Lala would greatly benefit from positive reinforcement obedience classes. Though Lala loves to go for a ride, she does get car sick so best not to feed her before she hops in the car. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Chugger is great boy. He is 100% Staffordshire Bull Terrier but is a dwarf with really bad hip displasia. He can only do 1 step and needs non slip floors. He has his own ramp to get up on the sofa. He is crate trained but has done great being left out when his foster is not home. He is on special food. He weighs about 54 lbs. He only goes outside to potty but “walks” are limited to a 5 minute lap around the perimeter of the house due to his weak legs. He is also pretty deaf. Not fully, but pretty severe. He is low maintenance. He sleeps a lot and plays with toys. Chugger likes company but is not a Velcro dog. He is not a fan of the snow/cold. He will need to be leashed to get him to go outside long enough to do his business. Otherwise he pees and runs for the door. He can do a couple of steps to get in the front door but does not do stairs at all. He doesn’t bark much at all. He met another small female dog and was non-reactive and had zero interest in her.  Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. Story
Welcome boxer and senior dog lovers! This handsome, salt-and-pepper fellow is Pierre, a 9-year old boxer patiently waiting for someone to love and share his golden years with in his forever home. Pierre is a people-oriented guy and adores his humans. While he is living in a multi-dog foster home and has made several canine friends there, he would very much enjoy being the center of attention as an only dog in his forever home. When he came to the rescue, Pierre was a bit frail and underweight. As his weight, muscle tone, and overall health improved, so did his strength. He is in excellent condition and health for a dog in his season of life. Pierre walks well on leash and also enjoys moderate hikes. He adores a good car ride, snuggles on the couch, or just chilling on the floor while the humans do their thing. Pierre is crate-trained and rests nicely in crate when his foster family is at work. Pierre would benefit from a schedule where he can have pottery breaks during the day. He would be excellent for someone who has a flexible schedule. Pierre is microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, is on tick/heartworm preventatives. He had senior bloodwork done before receiving a dental to freshen up that cute mouth of his. Pierre is being fostered in north-eastern Lancaster county/edge of Berks and potential adopters should be willing to travel to meet him. If Pierre sounds like the guy for you, head on over to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application through his profile. Please note: We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Kennel license 9117 Reading, Pa 19608
