Story
Dusty is such a sensational puppy! Six months old and with beautiful color, he was pulled from a high intake Houston shelter and now has made it to Rhode Island and is in foster care. An approximate American Bulldog/Boxer mix, he will not likely be tall, but he will be a chunk. Dusty is extremely bright, an excellent learner, and is a thinker with a very level personality. He is goofy, but also responsible, and we see in him and his vigilance the potential to be a most loyal companion and a excellent guardian. He is a people lover and very friendly, gets on great with other dogs, and is very responsive but not clingy or underfoot. This is a rock solid puppy who deserves to go into a home where he will continue to be guided, socialized and *trained* (he is much too strong a dog not to be), and with that done we are pretty sure he will be the best dog of a lifetime for some lucky someone....a really nice boy with a world of potential. Crates well and is well along with his housebreaking training. For questions or to request an application please contact Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com. Southpaws is proud to maintain its adoption fee at $450, but we unfortunately cannot adopt to residents of Massachusetts or New Hampshire due to state restrictions there.

Story
Meet Penelope! This zoomy snow bunny is a five year old American bully mix weighing in at 55lbs. She's a social butterfly, a happy girl, and absolutely would have been voted prom queen in high school. It is a necessity for Penelope to say hello to everyone she comes across. She has no issues approaching strangers and making fast friends via tail wags and happy snorts. She's a super smart girl that knows all of her cues like a pro and loves to show them off. She's the hammiest of hams and thrives on attention...especially belly rubs, obviously. Any sort of attention turns her into a wiggle worm that just can't stay still. She's a strong girl with a lot of enthusiasm and excitability so she can be a bit pull-y on a leash but she definitely isn't terrible. She's smart, eager to please, and a quick learner so consistency will be your best in correcting that. Her favorite thing to do, other than zoom around in the grass (or the snow), is to sploot with her legs out like a Thanksgiving turkey. Penelope does well with other dogs and doesn't even really seem to mind if they lack boundaries or personal space. She's just happy to say hello! Penelope does not like cats, does not appreciate that they have sharp and pointy bits, and does not appreciate the noises they make. So, no cats. We would prefer kids 12+ just because we don't have a history of her with small children. Since she is a "restricted breed", you must own your own home or live in a home owned by a family member. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to us at 508-677-9175.

Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting. Charlie was abandoned with another dog on the side of a rural Alabama highway in August 2024. That's how losers unload their responsibilities on society. We didn't have an open foster home and couldn't leave them there so we rescued the dogs and took them to the vet for medical and boarding. Charlie spent 7 weeks at the clinic, then he moved to a foster home in October and he's still there waiting on you! Charlie is estimated 3-4 years old and he is medium size at 55 pounds. He eats 2 cups of food and a few biscuits each day. Charlie lives in a home with a senior couple and 6-8 adults dogs at most times. He's perfectly crate trained and doesn't bother anything in the house when not crated. Charlie enjoys time outside in the yard running the fence with deer and chasing the other dogs in the yard. He has no resource or behavioral issues. He shares antlers and toys. He will bark at any cats he sees in the yard. Charlie is a good boy eager to have a meaningful relationship with his person! Charlie does have a one inch wide scar around most of his neck. A bandanna would look great on him! So many good dogs like Charlie are chained and neglected in the south. He doesn't remember those times. He had no other marks or scars, just his neck. All of our dogs live in Alabama foster homes and transport to New England when they are adopted. If you are approved to adopt one of our dogs, you will speak to the foster family and you can request FaceTime, video or more pictures once your application is approved. This method of long distance adoption works for hundreds of pets every year! We have been sending Dogs and cats to homes for 15 years and strive the make the adoption process as smooth as possible. Charlie is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, multiple dewormings, heartworm negative, and he receives monthly parasite prevention. He comes with his records. We pay a transporter for every dog we send to a New England home. We do not own the van or service. Every dog sees a veterinarian before they leave for a health check and health certificate, which also comes with a cost. These costs are built into the total fee. Total adoption fee and investment for this nice dog is discounted $395.00 and includes the transport and health certificate from the vet. $200 adoption fee $195 transport health certificate Serious adopters should fill out the application online and someone will get back to you ASAP. We prefer a vet reference, current or previous, to adopt a puppy. Please call your vet to release information on your account. Story
Pebbles is a loving, loyal companion excited for walks, play, snuggles or simply being with her loved ones. She is an inquisitive, hilarious, goofy princess. This beautiful 65lb sun basking girlie is an adult with puppy energy without puppy woes. Pebbs is remarkably obedient for an American bulldog, taking well to training and structure; she will shake your hand and catch treats (her favorite is crunchy lettuce!). She walks great on a leash, never had destructive behavior, is perfectly housebroken, spayed, microchipped, and current on shots. Pebbles has lived with kids and other dogs so should adapt well. Due to a rough first home she is an anxious girlie, so she's looking for an experienced parent/home with chill vibes rather than party vibes. (Rehoming due to neglect. I cannot keep her much longer and just want to keep her out of the shelter so please reach out. She is a gem!!)

Story
Meet Frack; she and her brother Frick, also available for adoption on the PAWS New England page, are 13-week-old sweet puppies looking for their own forever homes. After being unexpectedly left with an elderly couple who were unable to care for them, these pups are now ready for a fresh start—one loving family at a time. Frack is a happy, playful puppy with a gentle personality. She rarely barks, enjoys play time, and has done very well on car rides to the vet with no signs of motion sickness. She is confident in her home environment and, because of her young age, has not yet been introduced to public outings or leash walking—giving her future adopter the joy of guiding her through those first experiences. Each puppy would thrive in a home where they can receive individual attention, training, and bonding. Whether you’re looking for a playful companion or a loyal best friend, Frack could be the perfect addition to your family.Name: FrackBreed: American Bulldog/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 13 weeks as of 12/21/25Weight: 15lbs as of 12/21/25Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue.
