Story
**This dog is currently being fostered in Houston Texas but is available for adoption via rescue transport. We provide zoom call to meet your dog prior to adoption as well as no added fees for transport** Bio: Kyra is a happy go lucky pup who found herself abandoned on the streets. She was emaciated, had poor skin and just full of worms. Thankfully an amazing woman found her and took her in. She got her clean, well fed, and fully vetted. Now, Kyra is ready to start the next chapter in her adventure! Kyra is 2 years old, and is a total hambone of a dog. We believe she is some kind of pitbull, retriever, hound mix. Basically what we call, a Texas Street Special! Whatever her breed, she is all adventure pup and very eager for life. Kyra loves people, I don't think she could ever meet a stranger. She's extremely loving, and enjoys cuddles on the couch, giving kisses, and looking cute for treats! We think she would even do wonderfully with children, though we suggest age 10+, not because she isn't a good girl but because her sheer size could pose an issue for smaller kids. Sometimes she gets the zoomies when excited and small children may be overlooked when she's zooming around. Kyra has done wonderful with other dogs as well. She is fantastic at her doggie daycare, does well at dog parks, and loves to play. While a bit rough for play with smaller dogs, large pups and her do fantastic. Kyra matches the energy of the pups she is with, so if they want calm, she will be calm. If they want crazy, she will start her zooming! At times, she can be quite vocal when playing with others, but all of it is playful banter. We think Kyra would absolutely love to have another large canine brother or sister to enjoy life with, but would also do well as an only pup too! Kyra does very well with training, mostly due to the fact that she's so smart. She learns quickly, and at times, can be TOO smart. Like how she knows how to push the door open if it's not latched properly. She knows her basics such as sit, kennel, stay. Her only need for training is to have continued impulse control taught, as she struggles when she's over excited to stay in place. Though, which dog doesn't! She is fully crate trained, and is doing fantastic with her leash training. She is Housebroken, but being such a big pup still, we suggest using a kennel until fully acclimated. Though she quite enjoys cuddling in the bed if you'll allow. Kyra is fully vetted, meaning she is current on all vaccinations and preventions. She is spayed as well as microchipped too. Story
Meet our sassy senior girl Amy, Amy is a chunky bundle of love that isn't afraid to show off her big beautiful belly for pets and rubs when given the chance. Amy seems to love everyone she meets and is quick to give kisses! This senior girl doesn't always want to go on walks and would prefer a home which has a small yard for her to sunbathe in. Although, it really depends on her daily mood! She is quick to let you know what her needs are and will put on the brakes if she wants to return to the shelter for kennel cuddles or off-leash gym time. Despite her age, Amy loves her toys and has the most fun shredding up soft toys and doing big zoomies in the gym! Amy is a strong puller and will need someone that can handle her size. Although Amy is not dog reactive, she is not to socialize with other dogs or animals and will need to be the only animal in the home. In her previous home, she was muzzle trained and will still wear a Baskerville muzzle when needed without much fuss. Amy will need a home that can take her to the vet for consistent urine analysis rechecks to monitor for Proteinuria. Amy is currently on a hypoallergenic diet (for skin and itchiness), and will need to stay on this vet prescribed diet unless your vet decides otherwise (a urine/renal diet could be something in her future). Amy is starting on an Omega3 supplement to help act as a renal protectant and this should be continued long-term. Amy is a sassy, unique, and loveable diva who is waiting for her perfect her where she can take centre stage. Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Amy's person?
