Story
Both of these ladies are super sweet. They lived most of their lives outside before coming to live with us. They are working on manners like house training and counter surfing, but are highly food motivated. Both are crate trained. Neither has ever been violent but they are fed separately. They are great with kids (they live in a 6 kid home). Rosie is an escape artist and can easily jump over fences. Jubilee is a home body who can open some doors, but they both love running around. Rosie is about 7 and Jubilee 4 or 5. They are adorable and sweet and hyper and deserve a beautiful life. They are good with cats. They have challenges, but they are truly amazing souls. They dog sitters always fall in love with them. Why do we need to rehome them? Last year I got divorced and he did not take them as agreed. I work from home, so I was trying to make it work, but with life and 6 kids, I struggled walking them enough. When with my son's recent cancer diagnosis, it has become unmanageable.

Story
Meet Zane! 💙Zane is a handsome, approximately 3-year-old Pit Bull with endless energy and love to share. Some of his favourite things include time with his people, soaking up all the pets and affection, exploring the outdoors and sniffing around the yard. He is also a big fan of a Kong or a treat puzzle! If you're looking for a smart and loyal companion, Zane could be your perfect match.Zane is an energetic, strong boy who will do best in an active home that can keep up with his zest for life. He needs regular physical exercise as well as mental enrichment to help him stay happy and balanced. Because of his strength, Zane can be powerful on leash and will require an adopter who is confident and capable of handling him.Zane would benefit from working with an AnimalKind trainer using positive reinforcement to help him learn leash skills, manners, and build on his training overall. With structure, consistency, and guidance, he has great potential to thrive.Zane can be reactive to other dogs and will do best in a home where he can be the only pet, keeping all the attention to himself! In the right home, Zane will be an incredibly devoted companion who gives endless love and affection in return. He's searching for someone who understands his needs and is ready to invest in helping him be the best version of himself.*** Please acknowledge local bylaws for pit bull and bully type breeds. Story
**Currently fostered in Houston Texas but is available for out of state adoption via rescue transportation. Virtual meet and greet offered prior to adoption commitment** Kyra is a happy go lucky pup who found herself abandoned on the streets. She was emaciated, had poor skin and just full of worms. Thankfully an amazing woman found her and took her in. She got her clean, well fed, and fully vetted. Now, Kyra is ready to start the next chapter in her adventure! Kyra is just over 2 years old, and is a total hambone of a dog. We believe she is some kind of pitbull, retriever, hound mix. Basically what we call, a Texas Street Special! Whatever her breed, she is all adventure pup and very eager for life. Kyra loves people, I don't think she could ever meet a stranger. She's extremely loving, and enjoys cuddles on the couch, giving kisses, and looking cute for treats! We think she would even do wonderfully with children. Kyra has done wonderful with other dogs as well. She is fantastic at her doggie daycare, does well at dog parks, and loves to play. She doesn't mind the cats, She does chase them at times when she just wants to play. Kyra is not an aggressive dog, but she can lack the meaning of personal space and some of the cats we've introduced her to have not taken kindly to that. We think she could do well in just about any home, however, she would prefer to have regular play mates that can keep up with her be it siblings or play mates from friends, neighbors or daycare environment. She just wants to enjoy life with someone! Kyra does very well with training, mostly due to the fact that she's so smart. She learns quickly, and at times, can be TOO smart. Like how she knows how to push the door open if it's not latched properly. She knows her basics such as sit, kennel, stay. Her only need for training is working on her impulse control. She is fully crate trained, and is doing fantastic with her leash training. She is housebroken, but being such a big pup still, we suggest using a kennel until fully acclimated. Though she quite enjoys cuddling in the bed or couch. Kyra is fully vetted, meaning she is current on all vaccinations and preventions. She is spayed as well as microchipped too. Story
🐾 Meet Dizzy - the Cutest Little Wobble Warrior! 🧡Dizzy is a 4‑month‑old pup with a slight case of cerebellar hypoplasia - which basically means her coordination is still catching up with her big puppy heart. She's got a charming little head tilt, a sprinkle of uncoordinated wiggles, and just enough clumsiness to keep you smiling all day. Despite her unique style, Dizzy lives life at full tail‑wag. She's sweet, snuggly, curious, and determined - she just occasionally forgets where her feet are supposed to go. CH doesn't affect her happiness or her ability to love... it just makes her extra adorable. If you've been waiting for a pup who's equal parts sunshine, silliness, and soul - Dizzy might just be your girl. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl please fill out an application online as she is in foster Primary Color: Red Brown Weight: 6.99 Age: 0yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
Meet Potter Potter is a 7-month-old mixed breed puppy who is just beginning to experience the world around him. Potter may be a bit shy when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and seeks comfort from trusted humans. Once he feels safe, his true personality shines. Potter is affectionate, energetic, and playful, and he genuinely enjoys being around people once he gets to know them. He loves attention and is happiest when he's close to his humans, soaking up affection and praise. Potter came to us from a situation where he wasn't exposed to a lot, so many everyday sights and sounds are still unfamiliar to him. Things like walks, cars, and loud noises can feel overwhelming at first, and he's learning how to build confidence in new environments. Training & Socialization Potter will need basic puppy training, including potty training and learning everyday manners. He will also benefit greatly from continued, positive socialization to help him become more comfortable with new sights, sounds, and experiences over time. He is making a lot of progress so far and is very food motivated and eager to learn, making him highly receptive to reward-based training. Training sessions that focus on building trust, confidence, and positive associations with the world around him will help Potter feel secure and successful. Ideal Home Potter would do best in a quiet, adult-only home with owners who can dedicate time to help him learn. He is not suited for a home with children. Potter might benefit from a confident dog in his new household but we will learn more as he meets other dogs at the shelter. A patient adopter who understands shy or under-socialized dogs and is willing to go at Potter’s pace will be rewarded with a deeply loving, affectionate, and playful companion. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ready to Apply? If you would like to meet Potter, please download an application from our website at: vancouver.ca/adoption-form Then, email your complete application to: animal.shelter@vancouver.ca If your application is approved, we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- All adult dogs at Animal Services have veterinary health checks, and are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed (if necessary) before going to their new homes. Children: No Cats: Maybe Dogs: Maybe Training Needs: Puppy Training and Socialization Adoption Fee: $391 If you live in the City of Vancouver, you will also need to purchase a dog licence. Story
Hiya! My name is LUCKY and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed:  Pittie / Shar Pei (??) mix Age:  3 years old (approx.) Gender:  Female Weight:  63.8 lbs (29 kg)  Height:  65 cm (paws to top of my head) Length:  83 cm (head to butt) Neck:  45 cm Chest:  74 cm Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - I was found at the Mexico City Airport when the rescue team was there sending another pup to Canada. I was wandering in and out of the airport when my rescuers saw me. They put a crate on the floor for me and I walked right inside! It is believed that I once had a home because I already know how to walk on leash. I have been living at the shelter since August 2024 and am so ready to find my forever home!  TEMPERAMENT - I am a super sweet, loving, and playful girl. You can see from my photos that I love affection - look at the pure joy and happiness in my eyes! I enjoy playing ball and loveee toys (everything from stuffies to bones). I love to go on long walks with the volunteers at the shelter. After my walks, I like to nudge or "knock" at the door to come back inside and eat some food. I am playful and affectionate, even with strangers. I love to get pets and belly rubs (video)! I am friendly with other dogs at the shelter (my BFF is a male shnauzer mix named Stefano)-- we sleep in a kennel together at night. PS. I love carrots!! ENERGY LEVEL - Medium to High - I enjoy play time and lots of walkies with my trusted hoomans! Exercise is a must for me!  GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. I haven’t had much exposure to kiddos so far at the shelter.  Dogs –  Yes! I have lots of pals at the shelter, and enjoy walking and the dog park with my fellow doggos!  Cats – No thank you!  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Good/Fair. I love any chance to go on a walk! Although I follow basic commands, it's important to remember that I am a BIG, strong girl! So I need a confident owner who is capable of walking a strong doggo. My skills will need some polishing up when I am adopted. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: When I was rescued, I had very low bodyweight and was malnourished. I also had a case of Mange (skin condition). I received proper vet care and have fully recovered! I originally ate ROyal Canin food to help me gain weight, but now I have transitioned over to the shelter regular diet (which also includes daily veggies!) I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed.
