Story
**This dog is currently being fostered in Houston Texas but is available for adoption via rescue transport. We provide zoom call to meet your dog prior to adoption as well as no added fees for transport** Bio: Kyra is a happy go lucky pup who found herself abandoned on the streets. She was emaciated, had poor skin and just full of worms. Thankfully an amazing woman found her and took her in. She got her clean, well fed, and fully vetted. Now, Kyra is ready to start the next chapter in her adventure! Kyra is 2 years old, and is a total hambone of a dog. We believe she is some kind of pitbull, retriever, hound mix. Basically what we call, a Texas Street Special! Whatever her breed, she is all adventure pup and very eager for life. Kyra loves people, I don't think she could ever meet a stranger. She's extremely loving, and enjoys cuddles on the couch, giving kisses, and looking cute for treats! We think she would even do wonderfully with children, though we suggest age 10+, not because she isn't a good girl but because her sheer size could pose an issue for smaller kids. Sometimes she gets the zoomies when excited and small children may be overlooked when she's zooming around. Kyra has done wonderful with other dogs as well. She is fantastic at her doggie daycare, does well at dog parks, and loves to play. While a bit rough for play with smaller dogs, large pups and her do fantastic. Kyra matches the energy of the pups she is with, so if they want calm, she will be calm. If they want crazy, she will start her zooming! At times, she can be quite vocal when playing with others, but all of it is playful banter. We think Kyra would absolutely love to have another large canine brother or sister to enjoy life with, but would also do well as an only pup too! Kyra does very well with training, mostly due to the fact that she's so smart. She learns quickly, and at times, can be TOO smart. Like how she knows how to push the door open if it's not latched properly. She knows her basics such as sit, kennel, stay. Her only need for training is to have continued impulse control taught, as she struggles when she's over excited to stay in place. Though, which dog doesn't! She is fully crate trained, and is doing fantastic with her leash training. She is Housebroken, but being such a big pup still, we suggest using a kennel until fully acclimated. Though she quite enjoys cuddling in the bed if you'll allow. Kyra is fully vetted, meaning she is current on all vaccinations and preventions. She is spayed as well as microchipped too. For more information on how to adopt Kyra, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com.

Story
Helloooooo Canadaaaaa! My name is Kyros and here is some info about me: Breed: American Pitbull TerrierAge: 7 years 7 monthsGender: maleWeight: 28 kgs/ 61lbsHeight: tbd Witnesses saw me being dumped from a car on a busy highway. Terribly shameful thing for someone to do. Thank goodness my rescuer saved me. After my rescue, my old owner was identified and my rescuer discovered that I’ve lived most of my life (5 years) tied outside a garage through winter and summer. Horrible again. I got adopted shortly after (6 months) and unfortunately my owner passed away due to a sudden heart attack. So sad. We were great together and he was helping me learn. After that, I have been placed in a paid boarding facility, where I am extremely depressed and barely eating. I am an extremely loyal and protective dog. I often get depressed and stop eating if I am not with a human for a long period of time. I warm up to people very quickly and love to bond with humans. I stay close to my human and give them a lot of sloppy kisses and love. I can be trained easily once I trust the person, you just need to find my motivation (usually vocal and physical praise.) I was initially reactive towards all dogs, but with training and some socialization from my previous owner, I was able to approach female dogs in a playful way without reacting. See my video. Though still not friendly with male dogs at all (have a bite history with a male dog). I will never be the dog who can be left off-leash in a park, but with proper training and leadership, I can be a very good dog and companion! Through the work my owner had done, I can walk past barking male dogs (with a secure fence separating us) without flinching (before I was adopted, I used to lunge and pull right away), but if one of them crosses a line and annoys me, I will still lunge and snap at them. If my training is resumed, I'm sure I can improve further. I showed definite improvement with someone taking the time to work with me. The best home would be one without young children or other pets. I will do well with 1.5 hours of walking per day and around 30 minutes of running or tug play. It would be ideal to be in a home with a fenced space for off-leash play, since I cannot be left with other dogs. It would be grand if I could go to a Pitbull knowledgeable home. ENERGY LEVEL: Moderate I GET ALONG WITH:Dogs, ok with females (on leash only) and not friendly at all with males.Cats, unknown, but not likelyKids, unknown. I greet kids (7-10 yrs) during walks, but have never lived with one. I seem friendly and kind with them during walks. PREY DRIVE: High FEARS:none that my rescue mom knows of! I do get jumpy if someone does a lot of sudden movements around me due to my abusive history. TRAINING: someLeash skills – I am leash reactive, so wil need continued work on this. My previous owner was teaching me how to walk nicely on the leash, but I still pull a lot!House trained – I was in a home before, but need a refresher!Other tricks – sit and stay HEALTH NOTES:I am a healthy boy. I am fully vaccinated and neutered. I am also microchipped! My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. I would likely fly through Montreal, see extra costs below. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1304455##

THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.   Please contact Stephanie at pachostephanie@gmail.com for more information or to adopt. Hi everyone, I am the energetic Elvis and here's some info about me: Age: 6Breed: Pitbull/ German ShepherdWeight: 90 lbsHeight: 24 inchesMale (intact) Although I  am 6 years old, I am still just a big puppy with a big heart. I love my people and am super-loyal and affectionate. My rescuer says that I have come so far in a short time, a fast learner and very smart when it comes to tricks. As a puppy, I was rescued from a local shelter, and my rescuer took care of me all these years. Unfortunately my rescuer recently passed and the family is no longer able to care for me or my sister, Anna. I would love to find a new home where Anna can join me, but if that doesn't work out, it's still ok. There is nothing I love more than to play fetch and tug-o-war. Did I mention I have heaps of energy? A home with a big yard where I can play all day, would be amazing! I also love walks, but require someone with some experience who can help me practice my leash walking. I like kids and other dogs, however I need to be introduced slowly to strangers, just to check them out. My family comes first and I need to protect them after all. A family with older kids, who has some experience and patience with rescues sounds like my perfect match! I live in Nanaimo BC and the family is willing to travel for meet and greets. An adoption fee of $100 applies. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.   Please contact Stephanie at pachostephanie@gmail.com for more information or to adopt. Hi everyone, I am the affectionate Anna and here's some info about me: Age: 11Breed: Pitbull/ RotweillerWeight: 70 lbsHeight: 21 inchesFemale (spayed) People know me as a sweet, affectionate, well behaved senior dog.  Since I am no longer a pup, I just love lounging around, taking it easy. Belly rubs and cuddles are my absolute favorite! As a puppy, I was rescued from a local shelter, and my rescuer took care of me all these years. Unfortunately my rescuer recently passed and the family is no longer able to care for me or my brother, Elvis. I would love to find a new home where Elvis can join me, but if that doesn't work out, it's still ok. I like kids and other dogs, however, strangers make me anxious sometimes. I suppose I just need to get to know them. Like most experienced dogs, I am house trained and have no problem staying alone at home. No need to make a fuss when my people are away. Naturally, I am house trained and I know all the basic commands.  Leash walking is great, however due to my age, I have recently started limping. The gradual onset limp is suspected to be an underlying condition, so I will need special care and attention, and to go to family who doesn't need a high energy dog and has lots of patience.  I live in Nanaimo BC and the family is willing to travel for meet and greets. An adoption fee of $100 applies. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. Story
Hello!! My name is Remi (formerly known as "Brunehilda".) Here is some information about me:Breed: Pitbull Terrier MixAge: 7 year oldGender: FemaleWeight: 64 lbsHeight: 16" tallHighlights: Energetic, resilient, affectionate, loyal & playful As a seven-year-old pitbull mix, I've spent countless days within the walls of the North Central LA animal shelter since September 2022. It's a place where hope flickers dimly, where each day feels like a repeat of the last, and where the sound of footsteps passing by echoes with missed opportunities. I've watched puppies come and go, their adorable antics capturing the hearts of potential adopters. But for me, the attention is fleeting, as people pass by my kennel, their eyes skimming over me as if I'm invisible. Perhaps it's my age or the stigma attached to my breed, but regardless of the reason, it's disheartening to feel overlooked time and time again. Despite the challenges, I refuse to give up hope. Each day, I greet visitors with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes, silently pleading for someone to see the love and loyalty that I have to offer. I yearn for a forever home where I can share my affection, where I can run freely in a backyard, and where I can cuddle up with my human on a cozy couch. But until that day comes, I find solace in the small moments – a scratch behind the ears from a kind-hearted volunteer, a game of fetch in the shelter yard, or the warmth of the sun streaming through the window of my kennel. I may still be searching for my forever home, but I remain resilient in the face of adversity. I believe that there's someone out there who will see past the misconceptions and give me the chance I deserve. And when that day finally arrives, I'll be ready to shower them with all the love and loyalty my heart holds. Until then, I'll keep waiting, hoping, and dreaming of the day when I'll finally find my happily ever after. They call me the Fetch Master, and at seven years old, I've honed my skills to perfection. I'll bring that ball back to your feet if you're standing, or to your lap if you're sitting – I never miss a beat. I may have had a few dog meets, but let me tell you, my heart lies with humans. There's nothing quite like the joy of playing fetch or engaging in a game of tug-of-war with my favorite people. I'm not afraid to assert myself either; if male dogs try to dominate me, I'll set them straight with a firm correction. Toys and treats are my guilty pleasures, but beware of the plastic bowl – I have a tendency to snatch it up and initiate a game of keep away. And boy, am I fast! You'll have to keep up if you want to catch me. And when it's time to cool off, you can find me taking a refreshing dip in the kiddie pool, enjoying every moment of the splashing and fun. So, if you're looking for a loyal companion who's equal parts playful and spirited, look no further than me, Remi. Despite my time in the shelter, I haven't lost hope that the perfect forever home is out there, just waiting for me to find it. Energy Level: High I get along with: Dogs: unknown Cats: No Kids: Unknown Fears/Prey Drive:  None observed.  Please be patient assisting me in my transition.
