Story
THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.   Please contact Stephanie at pachostephanie@gmail.com for more information or to adopt. Hi everyone, I am the energetic Elvis and here's some info about me: Age: 6Breed: Pitbull/ German ShepherdWeight: 90 lbsHeight: 24 inchesMale (intact) Although I  am 6 years old, I am still just a big puppy with a big heart. I love my people and am super-loyal and affectionate. My rescuer says that I have come so far in a short time, a fast learner and very smart when it comes to tricks. As a puppy, I was rescued from a local shelter, and my rescuer took care of me all these years. Unfortunately my rescuer recently passed and the family is no longer able to care for me or my sister, Anna. I would love to find a new home where Anna can join me, but if that doesn't work out, it's still ok. There is nothing I love more than to play fetch and tug-o-war. Did I mention I have heaps of energy? A home with a big yard where I can play all day, would be amazing! I also love walks, but require someone with some experience who can help me practice my leash walking. I like kids and other dogs, however I need to be introduced slowly to strangers, just to check them out. My family comes first and I need to protect them after all. A family with older kids, who has some experience and patience with rescues sounds like my perfect match! I live in Nanaimo BC and the family is willing to travel for meet and greets. An adoption fee of $100 applies. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. Story
THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.   Please contact Stephanie at pachostephanie@gmail.com for more information or to adopt. Hi everyone, I am the affectionate Anna and here's some info about me: Age: 11Breed: Pitbull/ RotweillerWeight: 70 lbsHeight: 21 inchesFemale (spayed) People know me as a sweet, affectionate, well behaved senior dog.  Since I am no longer a pup, I just love lounging around, taking it easy. Belly rubs and cuddles are my absolute favorite! As a puppy, I was rescued from a local shelter, and my rescuer took care of me all these years. Unfortunately my rescuer recently passed and the family is no longer able to care for me or my brother, Elvis. I would love to find a new home where Elvis can join me, but if that doesn't work out, it's still ok. I like kids and other dogs, however, strangers make me anxious sometimes. I suppose I just need to get to know them. Like most experienced dogs, I am house trained and have no problem staying alone at home. No need to make a fuss when my people are away. Naturally, I am house trained and I know all the basic commands.  Leash walking is great, however due to my age, I have recently started limping. The gradual onset limp is suspected to be an underlying condition, so I will need special care and attention, and to go to family who doesn't need a high energy dog and has lots of patience.  I live in Nanaimo BC and the family is willing to travel for meet and greets. An adoption fee of $100 applies. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. Story
Juniper is a sweet, goofy puppy who won't let anything slow her down! Juniper had an accident when she was 3 months old and broke one of her back legs. Being in a cast when you're a puppy isn't easy, but Juniper was a very brave girl for all of her vet appointments, and is well on her way to a full recovery. She loves to run and play, and has even learned how to fetch a ball thanks to her fantastic foster parents. Potty training is still a work in progress, but now that her cast is off and she can go for longer walks we are sure she will pick it up quickly. She hasn't met a human (big or small!) that she doesn't like, and loves other dogs as well. Due to her injury occurring while she was still growing, she may be prone to joint issues when she gets older, but as long as her new family is proactive with maintaining her mobility and joint health she is sure to live a long, happy, and active life!Want to learn more about Juniper? Submit a pre-adoption application at https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-vancouver/, and a staff member will call suitable applicants to schedule a meet-and-greet. As Juniper is currently in foster, all meetings will need to be arranged in advance. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 14.2 Age: 0yrs 4mths 0wks

Story
Trey came into our care as a stray after being abandoned by his previous owner, but despite his rough start he has a heart of gold. This sweet guy loves spending time with people and getting lots of scratches and cuddles. His new family will need to work on his mild separation anxiety, Trey loves attention and will let you know when he isn't getting enough. Once he is content, he will lay on his bed and take a nap. He loves going on on walks but can be a strong puller and will need a strong human to take him on and work on leash training. Trey is getting used to walking on a Halti and walks amazingly! Trey can be jumpy and mouthy when he is excited to see you, so his family will need to teach him some manners. Luckily, he is a smart boy and loves treats, so training will be easy. Because he can be vocal when alone, he would do best in a house with no shared walls. Trey is very strong and excitable and would do best in a home without small children or elders. Trey is good with other dogs and could go to a home with another canine friend. He has a high prey drive and would not do well in a home with cats or other small animals. Due to his breed and some mild skin irritation, we believe that he may have food sensitivities. He is currently on a limited ingredient diet.Do you think you could be Trey's person? Submit a pre-adoption application at https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-vancouver/, or come visit him at the Vancouver Community Animal Centre during our visiting hours! Story
Meet Juno, a delightful dog ready to find her forever home! Juno is a bundle of joy with a heart full of love for her people. She's incredibly friendly and snuggly, forming strong bonds with those she trusts. Juno is a runner's dream, bursting with energy and a love for running. She's been through training classes, mastering commands like spin, place, wait, and shake a paw. However, her excitement can make her a bit jumpy at times. While Juno is a sweetheart with her loved ones, she can be reactive to other dogs and can be wary of strangers. It's important to note that she may not be the best fit for households with small kids or other animals, as she tends to resource guard her food and bones. With the right understanding and care, Juno is sure to bring boundless joy and companionship to a runner looking for an active and loving canine companion. If you're ready for a running buddy who's also a snuggle expert, Juno might be the perfect match for you!Dog adoptions are by appointment only and we will not be able to accommodate dog meets on a walk-in basis. To secure an appointment at our animal center, please submit an adoption application and an adoption counselor will reach out. Story
Meet Timmy, a 3-year-old pitbull mix bursting with energy and affection. Timmy is a playful and intelligent companion who thrives on engaging activities. He gets along well with dogs his size or larger, although initial introductions should be managed due to his exuberance. While his high energy might not be suitable for small children, he could be a great fit for older kids who understand dogs. Timmy is eager to learn and highly motivated by food rewards. He requires ample mental and physical stimulation in a very active household. Please note that Timmy's high energy level and exuberance makes him incompatible with cats. If you're ready for a dynamic, loving canine friend, Timmy is ready to be a part of your family.Does Timmy sound like your perfect match?
