Story
Greetings, my name is Debbie and here is a bit of info about me:Breed: Pitbull mixAge:  3 yearsGender:  FemaleWeight:  50 lbsHeight: 20 inchesCountry of Origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: Curious, intelligent, cautious, loving, affectionate, playful A sweet, resilient soul who has found her joy again and is ready to share it with a forever family. My journey began in a shelter in April 2025, where my three puppies were born just a day after I was surrendered. Losing them to Distemper broke my heart, but my resilience helped me move forward. Once "shut down" and terrified, those days are now in the past. Currently fostering with my sister, Emerson (also posted) has been a huge boost, and life is finally starting to feel joyful instead of scary! Soooo, if you happen to want two little girls, me and my sis are happy & ready to go together. Our foster has stated that we are fairly dependent (though spreading our wings more all the time) on each other for feeling safe and it could take longer for us to come out of our shell and settle if adopted individually, just so you know. Curiosity is replacing fear every day! I’m a relaxed girl who loves lounging on the couch, though some shyness remains. During outings, I’m a spirited walker, calm and non-reactive even when spotting other dogs. While quick movements can still trigger caution, a steady routine helps those fears fade away. Playing with other dogs is now my favorite thing in the world! A patient family is essential for my initial transition. And if there is already another dog sibling all the better, that would help us learn faster annd keep our confidence high. I have a special bond with men and a very social spirit. Once I realize that "forever" means forever, my affectionate nature will truly take over. Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered & vaccinated. Not yet microchipped, but will be prior to adoption. 4DX testing. Our adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes out transportation to the Border of Canada and the US. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2512642##

THIS IS A COURTESY POST. Do not submit an application with Loved at Last. Please contact the person listed below for more info or to adopt. For additional info about adopting, please contact: Tiff or Chris at christiffchan@gmail.com. Good day there. My name is JUNI. Here is some info about me.Breed: Pitbull/Staffordshire Terrier mixAge: 5 yrsGender: femaleWeight: ~45 lbsHeight: 16 inchesCountry of origin: CanadaI am currently in Langford, BC Love to cuddle my humans. I'll give you endless love, with the sweetest little grunts and kisses, and a big whipping from my small, yet mighty tail.I need to be rehomed so that I can have a better environment to thrive.Being a sweet, beautiful, petite girl, I need an experienced and patient handler. I have so much potential, but much of my reactivity towards other dogs and sometimes humans is fear based. I just need someone to help me build up my confidence and show me the world isn't such a scary place. My owner suspects I had a rough past, especially around other dogs, as I have shown reactivity and aggression towards "selective" dogs. I've had 1-1 training and have made significant progress and will need an owner who is committed to managing my stress and anxieties around the outdoors/dogs/some humans.I would do best with someone who is home more often than not, and likely would be best as an only dog. No cats please, as I am too interested and have prey drive. I have not had much exposure to children in the home, but my owner feels I would do best in a home with calmer/older children. I seem to be more stressed living in a condo environment, as the hallway noises are very confusing and triggering for me. I therefore would do best in a townhome or house with a yard. Having a space of my own without all the strange noises would likely help tone down my vigilance.I do have some allergies which have been managed well on a special diet.Aside from my fears, I am truly the sweetest and so easy-going in the home. I am housebroken & love my "bedroom" (crate.)  Everyone who has met me has fallen in love with me. I am just the best little girl who deserves humans who are confident in helping me get over and managing my fears.Additional vid: https://youtube.com/shorts/q0ZNZtTYmmw Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: some. selectiveCats: noKids: unknown, (owner states older, respectful kids should be fine) Fears: nervous towards certain people, particularly men. Story
Good day. I am Emerson and here is a bit about me:Breed: Pitbull terrier mixAge:  3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 50 lbsHeight: 20 inchesCountry of origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: Zen, tolerant, steady, gentle, timid, loving, playful While I am a bit timid yet, I am loving and playful too. I'm actually kind of the zen girl.Surrendered by a man along with my sister, Debbie (also posted) to the shelter on 4/3/25. My sis was pregnant and gave birth to three puppies the very next day. A rescue stepped up to help, but in very different ways. Debbie and her three puppies were immediately taken in by a foster Mom. The shelter only gives dogs 14 days for adoption, and so I was to be killed on 4/18. The horror. Foster parents agreed to take me in at the last minute and so I came to their house on the 18th. Phew. In early August, Debbie's foster Mom had a family emergency, so my foster parents agreed to take Debbie and get us sisters back together. Debbie came to our house on 8/9/25. Since that time, we have blossomed. Our fosters have two dogs and all four of us get along very well, often spending our days in the sunny yard and the evenings on a warm couch by the fire.I tend to be more comfortable with my foster mom, and Debbie is more comfortable with foster dad. We love to go on walks and are leash-trained without any issues. We both know to use the dog door and have never had any accidents indoors. Our foster folks have an open-door crate available and both of us will fit ourselves in together, unless a couch is available. If we can access a couch, all bets are off!! LOL. We will sleep on one of the couches for hours, cuddling with, and sometimes sleeping on top of, each other!Me, I like to play chase with the other dogs. Run, tricky evasive moves, catch them. Lots of tail-wagging fun.We are much more comfortable with people inside our home. Out in the yard, we both still run away from our fosters, although I will come to foster mom for treats and Debbie has just recently started letting foster dad pet her outside. Basically, we have been spending our days in the yard & our evenings with in the living room, and our nights on a couch with foster dad. I love walks too. Both of us appear to be in excellent health and without any known health issues. We are both still quite timid though and cautious around people, especially during times of transition when people are moving about. We are making progress every day and our fosters are confident we will both make remarkable companions for the lucky human(s) who adopt us. Our foster has stated that we are fairly dependent on each other (though sopreading our wings more all the time) for feeling safe and it could take longer for us to come out of our shell and settle if adopted individually, just so you know.We will thrive with a patient, loving owner. If you happen to have znother sibling fir us, we are. Totally cool with that too. I appear trainable and smart. I am in the VERY early stages of sit and come. Greetings all. My name is BODHI and below is some info about me:Breed: Pitbull Mix/Cane Corso mixAge: 2-1/2 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 54 lbsHeight: 15”Country of origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: Sweet, loving, charming, shy, anxious I am ready for my new home. I'm really quite the loving boy.  I would do best with a person who works at home or a family that has people around most of the time. I am fine a couple hours alone, but as time transpires, I tend to get more distraught and yes (head hanging), I have chewed on some human things after too long a time period. As I settle in with someone, I'm sure that I will be able to move beyond this behaviour, however. I am so very eager to please! A yard would be super, as I need exercise. Acreage, an extra special bonus. But I can be a real couch potato too. A cuddly bug too. I am shy when meeting new people, but once I warm up, I am fine. If you provide me proper introduction with another dog, I am usually quite gentlemanly. I was getting along fine with the doggie housemate I had at my old home. I can be somewhat nervous when passing by strange dogs when out walking so I will need someone calm and confident to guide me to a new state of confidence. I will appreciate a human who can reassure me that they are able to protect me as it appears that I have been in scary situations in the past. I am very excited about finding a human who can reassure me that I am safe and that I am protected, not vice versa. I recently got a clean bill of health regarding my blood testing from the vet.  Original posting: No brag, here comes a boy who is as sweet and charming as they come, so I am told.My first owner was unable to keep me and so found what she "thought" was a great home for me. Unfortunately, I ended up at the shelter after I escaped the yard of my new home. Probably trying to look for my original person. Sadly, my new owner did not even make an effort to find me or bring me home. My first owner panicked seeing my post and feared I would be euthanized and said she would come get me, but she never did. Here is where a rescue stepped up to save me... shortly before that fateful day I was to be killed.I was put into boarding and have charmed the pants off the staff and volunteers alike ever since.Being very sweet, and a little on the shy side at first, I build trust over time. The tech who cared for me at the shelter had been working with me since I entered the shelter. I liked and trusted her. She advised no quick movements around me, as I will become very scared and start to tremble. They think I may have been hit in one of my prior homes. Sad, isn't it?The rescue transporter said I did well in the car and was great as they got me settled in at boarding. By moving slowly and ensuring that I am not surprised by what people are doing, the rescue staff were able to build the same kind of trust with me. So, that will be the key to my trust with you too. Give me time to relax and learn you are safe by methodical movement and letting me know what is going on.I'd love it if we could do happy walking times together, super snuggles, and just become total buds. I am a kind soul who will make a fantastic addition to my new family. Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown Fears: quick movementsTraining:Leash skills: some. Wishing you a lovely day. Hi, I'm DINERO (Diego) and her is some info about me:Breed: Boxer/Pit Bull MixAge: 2-1/2 yearsGender: MaleWeight: 45 lbsHeight: 18 inchesCountry of origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: people submissive, active, happy, playful Mo' money, mo' money, mo' money... well mas dinero in my case. You won't get enough of me and my fun loving nature.Like most dogs at the shelter, I was picked up as a stray off the streets of New Mexico. When my people didn’t come for me, I was rescued off the euthanasia list by my rescuers.I am energetic and would love an active family to include me in their lives. I love playing ball.My playfulness extends to people, both adults and older children. I enjoy walking on the leash and do fine walking past other animals.Though I have been dog tested, I seem to be okay with some dogs and not okay with other dogs. Quirky selectiveness. Probably be good to do slow intros to other dogs to ensure we are a match. I would likely do better in a home without other animals. You will find I am submissive to people, so no challenging mom & dad. I'm more the happy go lucky soul.If you like activities involving running games, snuggles on the couch, ball throwing, learning tricks, strolls on the beach, forest hikes, well, just about anything I'm game for. You can bet your bottom dollar, I am awaiting your call. Greetings. I am Cleopatra, the beautiful and here is some info about me:Breed: Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier mixAge: 3 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 62 poundsCountry of origin: USHighlights: Silly, affectionate, intelligent, eager to please, can be shy at first Given us Labbie type are such lovable souls and as most of us pittiepotamus are, I am an affectionate girl. I love belly rubs and hanging out on the couch with you.  I came in as a stray to a shelter in Calif. I am being fostered through the shelter and can be adopted via a partner rescue with transportation available. You find me a silly girl, who is most intelligent and eager to please. I don't have a terribly high energy level. Enjoying walks and then hanging out is fine by me.Although I can be shy/unsure with new settings, I do warm up quickly with strong and consistent leadership. I am truly a sweet girl.Currently I live in an apartment and go for 3-4 walks a day. 3 walks for potty breaks where I am allowed some sniffing at my foster's discretion, but still using focused leash technique as taught by Cheri Wulff Lucas. 1 walk per day is a fast, longer walk with focused leash training (no stops for sniffs, etc... only focused walking following my foster's pace) and lead exercises. I am learning well.I prefer other large dogs of low to medium energy (with proper introductions), but I have done well on pack walks with both male and female dogs. I was even fine with the little dogs. Since I have demonstrated prey drive towards cats while on walks outdoors, probably best to forego cats in my new home, at least for now, until more is learned about my preferences. As far as small dogs, probably best in a home with dogs similar in size to myself, unless you are dog savvy to ensure proper interactions with a little one.Since it is unknown about my experience with kids, so teenaged is probably best.Being that I can be shy/unsure with new settings, though I warm up quickly with strong and consistent leadership. I just need someone who is patient and calm and help me feel secure. One thing I love is a kong toy with PEANUT BUTTER inside, yum. I also do the cutest happy dance/trot anytime you walk into the room I'm in! I'm just a happy go lucky young lady.My likes are walks, hikes and playing with rope toys and balls for short periods of time. The neighborhood where I am being fostered has a lot of dogs, so I am getting plenty of practice around other dogs. I have completed five training sessions now and know sit, down, wait, place and more! All i need now... is you. I am ready to start my new adventure in life. Energy Level: Relatively low energy for a 3 year old dog. I get along with:Dogs: yes. large, lower energy ones, with slow intro.Cats: no.Kids: unknown Fears:  Can be unsure/afraid of other dogs while walking outdoors. Please be patient during my transition.Training:Leash skills: yes. Walks very well using figure 8 leash (Cheri Wulff Lucas method.) Please be ready to continue training.House trained: Yes. Fully. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: No medical issues. Being fed a salmon based diet since us pitties mixes can sometimes have skin issues. I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to the border. ##2689956##

THIS IS A COURTESY POST. Do not submit an application with Loved at Last. I know how to use a doggie door, if you have one. Story
Meet Flais! This gentle fella was abandoned outside our rescuer's foster home in Zapapoa so we don't know much about the first few months of his life.  He did arrive with several wounds, likely from other street dogs. He's had time to heal and recover from his frightening past on the street, and has received full Vet care including catching up on vaccinations and being neutered.  He's all set and ready for adoption.   There's nothing about this guy that even hints at his rough past; he delights in any kind of human attention and gets along well with all the other pups at the shelter.  Good with kids, he'd suit a family environment where he'd revel in any and all adventures and be just as happy to cuddle quiet evenings away with his people.  He doesn't seem to want to make friends with kitties tho, so it's best he be placed in a non-kitty household! Will you be the one to give this gentle fella the love and stability he deserves?  He will pay you back in unyielding loyalty, never ending cuddles and companionship! VETTING: Fully vaccinated Neutered/Spayed Dewormed SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma) Flea/tick/heartworm prevention No known medical issues or injuries PLEASE NOTE: Flais is currently in Mexico. There will be a $235 fee for transportation to BC. This will be discussed upon approval. ##2301417##

Story
Hi there. I'm CHANI and here is some info about me:Breed: Boxer mixAge: 4 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 40 lbsCountry of origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: loving, active, playful, snuggly, loyal More than anything in the world, I love spending time with people. Snugglesssssss.Like many dogs in Roswell, I was found as a stray with my puppies and picked up by the animal shelter. My puppies were all adopted and I ended up on the euthanasia list when my time ran out. Thankfully, I was pulled out by a rescue group just in time.I am a lovable girl with a bit of sass and a splash of energy! Loyal and loving are my middle names. This girl is all about toys, water play, and having fun—but I also have a mellow side when it's time to chill. My rescuers say I am amazing with kids and could fit into an active or a more relaxed home.Snuggling with my foster mom on the bed is an especially loved time for me, as long as I don't have to share her attention with my foster siblings. I get along with the other bigger dogs, but I am a bit protective of my human with other dogs. I get jealous if another is getting attention. I do get along best with other easy going dogs, but would be delighted to be your one and only. Probably a top alpha is not a good match, as I am a dominant female, but can be neutral with submissive dogs. Hopefully you are willing to work with a trainer on this resourcing issue for me.I have a strong prey drive and should not be with small dogs or cats. I do have food resource guarding and therefore need to be fed separately, if there are other dogs in the home. It would be great if you could get a trainer to help alleviate this issue. It probably stems from trying to survive on the street and care for my babies. It would be terrific if you like to be adventurous and do activities like hiking, paddle boarding or other sports. But if not, a back yard to play in would be nice too. So long as we can get out for a bit of exercise on a regular basis, it's all good. I'm sure we could have loads of fun together. ##2712125##

Story
My name is PAMUK and here is a little info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever/Boxer mixAge: 6 yrs (d.o.b: 5/5/2020)Gender: femaleWeight: (a rather overweight) 40 kgCountry of origin: TurkeyHighlight(s): easy-going, calm, affectionate, well-behaved The shelter where I presently reside has frequent visitors and guess what? I am always chosen as an ambassador to interact. Why you ask? It's because I am so incredibly good with people. Especially children, as there is a local primary school who visits regularly.Once upon a time in a crowded Turkish neighborhood, —a gentle Golden Retriever mix, me—roamed the streets with a calm heart and trusting eyes. Though I had no official home, the local community grew fond of me, feeding and caring for me as best they could. But my breed made me stand out. Being a Golden mix, I didn’t quite look like the “typical” street dog, and passersby—believing they were helping—would call the municipality to "rescue" me.Unfortunately, the reality is far from kind. Municipal shelters in Turkey are often severely overcrowded and under-resourced, with heartbreaking conditions that few dogs survive in the long-term.I was picked up more than once. And each time, my rescuers rushed to secure me before I faded into the system. It became an ongoing mission—pulling me out, making sure I was safe, and trying to keep me away from danger. Eventually, they knew it wasn’t sustainable. To truly protect me, they placed me in a private shelter, where I have been waiting patiently ever since.Yup, I am very good natured. I currently live in a private shelter that has 450 dogs and a dozen in my specific area. I get along with all dogs. Unfortunately, conditions at this shelter are not terribly good, actually sub-standard. Hence, why I am rather dingy looking. Once I receive a proper bath and grooming, my beautiful golden fluff will be much more visible. Please don’t let it reflect on my true nature or potential. My rescuers have been wanting to get me moved. It is hard when there are so many urgent dogs. If I find an adopter, they will immediate work hard to find a foster home or me, so I can learn about living in a family. As an incredibly easy-going and calm dog, I should be able to thrive in most any setting.Ok, yessss, I am (ahem) slightly overweight right now and could stand to lose a few pounds to get back my girlish figure. It's just I love food and will eat anything offered. If you are after an affectionate dog, full of love to give, look no further.Every day, I hope for a family. A soft bed. A walk in the park. A gentle hand and a loving voice that says, "You’re finally home." Could that be you? Could you be the person that I have been dreaming of all this time?I'm ready. With my golden heart and kind soul, I am just waiting for someone to finally say, “Yes.” Energy Level: moderate to moderate-lowI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, good likelihoodKids: yes Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: no. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: No. Please help me learn! Health notes: bit overweight currentlyI have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. ##2395574##
