Story
Maya was acquired out of a bad situation having to live in the elements in a crate way too small for her. She is approximately 3 years old and believed to be the mom of Ruby and Rosie. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and getting some basic training. After all she has endured in her short life, she is so resilient, happy, and loves attention. She is very smart and forms bonds quickly with humans that are nice to her. She loves to run and chase her big red ball...and chew it up. When she first arrived, she was very reactive to the resident chickens, dogs, cats, and horses, but has gotten so much better. We don't know how she is with other animals yet.We are looking for someone who knows this breed, will be patient with her, loves long walks, preferably an only pet home, and one where she will be treated as the queen she is.

Story
Rosie, her sister and mom were crammed into tiny crates where they stayed for months on end until we were able to get them to safe locations. During this time in the outdoors, she got Heartworms. They had to endure the extreme cold temps we had and never knowing when they would get fed or let out for a potty break, having to lie in their own urine and feces. This girl is special and will tug at your heart-strings. She looks right through to your soul. She will be starting her HW+ treatment so we are desperately looking for a foster where she can be indoors and stay nice and calm for the months long treatment. She is the most loving, loyal dog in spite of what she has already been through. She approx 2 yo, is on the smaller size, perfect for snuggling up in bed or on the sofa. She is a funny girl, loves to jump straight up in the air, loves walks, loving and a schedule. She is very smart, sensitive, and playful but can chill in a moments notice. She loves to be near a human.

Story
Kit Kat is a gentle soul with a tender heart who is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. She can be timid around loud noises and quick movements, and new people make her a little unsure at first. Because of this, Kit Kat prefers to take things at her own pace. Since arriving at the shelter, Kit Kat has made wonderful progress. With patience and understanding, she has begun to open up. Once she feels safe, her soft personality really shines through. Kit Kat would thrive in a calm, predictable home where she can continue building confidence. She would do best as the only pet, allowing her to relax fully and not feel overwhelmed. If you’re someone who understands that love sometimes takes time, Kit Kat could be the perfect match.
