Hi! I am Gatsby a 2yr old, 45 lb, Pit mix looking for my forever family.  I am UTD, neutered, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, and a super duper smart/eager to please boy.  I was born in the woods and spent the first two months of my life living out in the wild so because of that, I need a special home.  I am basically fearful of people and you can not just walk up to me and pet me, I need to get to know you will not hurt me first.  Because of that, we want to find an adopter who will be patient and will continue working with his trainer, this will be included with his adoption at no extra cost.  So living in the Orlando area is best.  Once I know and trust you I am your best friend and I will give you my heart and soul!!!   I currently live with a pack of pups and I do great with dogs after proper introductions.  I have been through training and boarding at the facility to help with my social skills and confidence.   I have seen cats before and would likely do well with a confident one if you teach me how to live with them. A home without small kids would be ideal, only because I am still learning to not be so scared of things and they can be fast and noisy.  I can't wait to find my forever family, could it be you? Mimi is an adorable 3 year old bundle of happy wiggles! She doesn't know a stranger and her whole body wiggles when she makes a new friend. She is housebroken and very well behaved in the house. She was originally rescued from animal control very serious wounds to her head and neck consistent with a dog fight. Overall she seems to be very dog friendly with a polite, friendly other dog and proper introductions. She is playful and excited and another dog correcting her harshly can cause her to react negatively (not terribly surprising for a dog with her past) so she would do best with a tolerant, playful other dog and slow introductions to build trust. This petite (she's about 30 lbs) terrier mix suffers from a metabolic condition that makes it very hard for her to gain and maintain weight. She spent several months hospitalized at our veterinarian before they found a diet and supplement plan that works for her - but she is finally steadily gaining weight and ready to transition into a home. She is young (estimated to be 1 to 2 years old) and active, vibrant and healthy. She will need a special diet and supplement plan for the remainder of her life - which means she will need a special family willing to provide for these special needs for her.  Dakota also needs to be the only pet in the home. She has a typical terrier personality and wants to be the spoiled only fur child in her home. She is active, energetic and young and needs a home prepared to continue to work on basic manners but she is a happy, spirited energy that any family would be so lucky to have.  This girl needs her second chance at truly having a home and family of her own. Update: Hope is doing really good I was worried when her sister left she’d be a little lost but she’s not. She loves playing outside and running around with her foster siblings. Her favorite game is chase and tug a war. She’s still a big snuggler and loves attention. Goes in her crate easily. She definitely can hear just not sure how well ( always seems to hear the snack bag opening). Hope would definitely love to be your lap dog. She likes to cuddle and sleeps right by her foster mother. He is 4 years old. 57 lbs. He just got neutered and his shots on 2/8/24. He received a Proheart & Cytopoint shot on 3/21/24. He likes dogs but not cats. Likes children but not toddlers. Older kids would be best. He does not like my toddler but he has been great with my 15 year old. He is a sweet boy that likes to give kisses and cuddle. He loves to sunbath & he sleeps a lot. Loves going out for walks, he can go about a mile before being tired but if you take him often I'm sure he could go longer. He has had training at Sit Means Sit. We haven't really kept up with too much of it but he is extremely trainable. He does sit, stay, place, come. His vet and I are working on an elimination diet to figure out what he's allergic to. I think it might be chicken but not sure. We see the vet on 5/16/24 to begin allergy testing. Other than his allergy he is healthy. We are located in Winter Springs, FL.
