Story
Nova means new and this amazing dog is ready for her new forever home. Could it be you? Nova just like her namesake is a bright star with powerful energy. Her loving spirit will melt your heart. She just wants to be with her people. She is both a snuggle bug and a playful, funny girl. She knows basic commands and has been a great addition to her foster family. She gets along with her foster brother, they play and share the house space well, but would need to be cat tested. She loves walks, toys (the tough kind), and time with her humans. She is treat-motivated and has continued crate training and leash work in her foster home, of which she has made enormous progress in a short time. She would need a home committed to continuing this work as well as addressing her allergy issues through diet and over-the-counter allergy medication. Her foster parents are Emily Z.    The adoption fee for Nova is $200.Please complete our online application form if you are interested in adopting Nova. A volunteer will contact you as soon as possible. Click here to go to the online adoption form All Kalamazoo Animal Rescue dogs & puppies are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Dogs have been heartworm tested and if appropriate (age and time of year) all dogs and puppies are given heartworm preventative. All are given medication to rid them of roundworms and checked and treated for fleas & ear mites, if needed. Dogs and puppies are given distemper vaccines and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, additional distemper vaccine(s) may be necessary and the expense will be incurred by the adopter. Any canine over 4 months of age is brought current on the Rabies vaccine. Additional vet care may have been provided depending on the particular animal's needs. Dogs are individually priced as above. Please note that we do not ship dogs and we cannot guarantee that a long trip to see a foster dog will result in an adoption or taking the dog home on that day. It is in the best interest of pooch and owner to enroll in an obedience class soon after adoption. After all, you have a lot to learn about your new friend. The Kalamazoo Dog Training Club offers a discount to owners with newly adopted dogs. Enroll before any behavior problems start - you won't regret it! Story
It breaks my heart to share that we need to rehome our beloved dog, June, who is 7 years old. She is an incredible companion who loves to play, cuddle, and shower us with kisses. June is very obedient, but she struggles with young children, especially our toddlers who are just 2 years old and our infant. Her protective nature makes her uncomfortable around them. I truly believe she would thrive in a loving home where she can be the only pet, as she doesnt do well with other animals and can be leash reactive. Its very important to me that her new family is patient and ready to give her the love she deserves. June has so much love to offer, and I want nothing but the best for her future.

Story
Hello everyone, my name is Roscoe and I am about 9 years old and a big guy weighing in at almost 90lbs. I was adopted from Al-Van 5 years ago and unfortunately had to come back due to no fault of my own. My family's life circumstances changed, and I could no longer live with them. I am now looking for a new family to retire with! My previous home said I loved hanging out with kids! I may be an older gentleman, but I have a surprising amount of strength and energy. I love to play and go on slow walks with my people so I can really take in all the smells. I don't much care for other animals, but I've been told I make up for that by being such a people pleaser. I LOVE to jump up for kisses, especially after a GOOD back scratch! If you think I am your missing piece, fill out an application and come give me my chance at fur-ever! A generous donor even covered my adoption fee!

Story
Bruno is a 7 year old pitbull/lab mix. He is very good with other dogs but not with cats. He likes to snuggle and love and to be loved. I have had Bruno for 5 years but due to some very unfortunate circumstances I am no longer able to care for him the way he deserves and I am hoping someone who is wanting a low maintenance dog will give Bruno a second glance! He is very goofy and just wants a peaceful environment. He is used to a fenced in backyard.
