Story
My wife and I have both been around Kiya since the day she was born. She was bred by two dogs I had given to my best friend at the time, one of which happened to be fathered by my husky. My wife took Kiya home at eight weeks old and we started dating a few months after, so she hasn't ever known any other owners. She is a very lovey dog; we've had her through professional training and have never really had problems with her until recently. We do still have my husky; he is now 12 years old. Kiya has never been in a home by herself, as we have always had another dog and have had multiple cats including one right now. Over the last few months, she has begun urinating on the floors of our apartment without warning almost on a daily basis. We are parents to a five-year-old and are not comfortable letting her play on the floor of her own apartment. We believe she is acting out against us as we are both full time students as well, so she hasn't gotten the attention that she was accustomed too.

Story
This is Kooper. I got him in San Antonio Texas about four years ago. He’s been a great dog I just can’t afford to keep him. I recently lost my job and I’m looking for a good home for him. He gets this skin allergy every fall and I have to squirt some omega fish oil on his food and it clears right up but other than that he’s in good health. I haven’t had his shots yet this year

Story
Neale is 4 months old now, and he’s learning quickly. He’s almost completely house trained and will usually ask to go out when nature calls. He is kennel trained and appreciates a frozen Kong for his longer confinements, such as when I have to leave for work. I hate to be putting him out there to be rehomed, but after doing a DNA test, my partner is uncomfortable with him being a majority pit bull. I didn’t know about this being an issue prior to bringing him home. He’s about 60% American pit bull terrier, 30% coonhound, and 10% other. He really is a good puppy, but he does need to get his energy out. I’ve been taking him out to parks or forest and fields where he can run. He does like to chew since he’s teething right now but he’s getting better at realizing he has toys for that. I’d recommend always having one on hand for him. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Story
He is an 8 month puppy who needs more attention than I can give. He was my girlfriend;s gift but she left him when we broke up. I work 4-5 days a week, leaving him in a kennel for over 12 hours which is not fair to him. I live in an apartment and do not have time or space to spend with him that he deserves. He has the personality to be a great pet, but needs a place to run and experience life. He loves to play with my parents bern and their doodle. He will play nonstop if you let him. He loves chasing balls. He will still have an accident once a day if you get busy and miss his signal. He does well with my 4 year old niece he just does not understand his space boundaries around her, but he shows no signs of being aggressive toward anyone. He does very well in a kennel when you need to leave for work. But he is a puppy who likes to chew. He needs a family that will play and teach him to be the great dog he will be. This is a tough decision for me because I enjoy his companionship.

Story
Meet Steele! He’s a stunning 4 month old, 22 lb Pittie mix. He is currently all puppy. He loves toys, running around the backyard, and playing with the other resident dogs of all sizes. He was curious when introduced to the cats but they didn’t bother him one way or another. Potty training is going great. He’s using potty pads and learning to go outside. He’s doing great on leash training, knows “sit”, and is working on a few other commands. He’s a smart, fast learner and is treat motivated. Steele is crate trained and sleeps all night in there. He loves everyone, including kids. This handsome guy is ready to find his lucky forever family and continue his puppy training to be the best good boy.    Steele is neutered, fully vetted and vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and ready to meet you. His adoption donation is $425. Please apply directly in the dropdown menu on our website at https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! December 8, 2025, 3:32 pm

Story
Potter’s default setting is Pure Joy! Every day is a new adventure for this pup. Potter is a Pit mix, born March 2024. He is very affectionate and gives lots of kisses. He loves his people and wants to stay close to them. Potter is very active and loves to play. He enjoys the outdoors, but is still learning good leash manners. He is good with other dogs, but can be a bit rambunctious at times (he's still a puppy after all!). When meeting new people, he can be somewhat cautious at first, but he warms up quickly and loves everyone. He is potty trained, crate trained, and very motivated by food/treats.  The suggested adoption donation for Potter is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Before applying to adopt Potter, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2108169##
