Story
Clovis’s story begins in heartbreak. Animal control officers were dispatched to a call about a “dead dog” on the train tracks. What they found instead was a miracle — a frail, emaciated dog, clinging to life, too weak to even stand. That dog was Clovis. We don’t know much about Clovis’s past, but his broken body and cautious spirit tell a story of hardship and neglect. Despite it all, Clovis chose to survive. And now, with time, care, and compassion, he’s learning that life can be gentle.Clovis is understandably wary of new people and unfamiliar situations. He’s people-selective and needs slow, respectful introductions. But once you earn his trust, you’ll find the most loyal, affectionate, and goofy friend you could ever ask for. Clovis doesn’t give his heart easily — but when he does, it’s yours completely. He needs a quiet, stable home with no other animals, where he can decompress and continue healing at his own pace. A fenced-in yard is required so he can safely explore the outdoors without fear.Clovis isn’t just looking for a home — he’s looking for a chance. A chance to feel safe. A chance to be loved. A chance to finally just be a dog.Give Clovis that chance, and he’ll give you everything he has in return.

Story
Meet Bimbi – Your Loyal, Lovable Companion in the Making   Bimbi is a stunning, 3-year-old spayed beauty weighing in at around 40 pounds. With her regal looks and soulful eyes, she turns heads wherever she goes—but it’s her heart that really makes her shine.   Bimbi has known what it means to be let down, having spent much of her life confined to a crate. Despite this, she got along well with the small dogs in her previous home and remained the friendly, affectionate girl she was born to be. Sadly, when her family fell on hard times, Bimbi was surrendered, and now she’s waiting for her true forever home.   She absolutely loves meeting new people and soaks up attention like sunshine. She adores hugs, belly rubs, kisses, and gentle brushing with a soft brush—she’ll even close her eyes in bliss. Her favorite spot? Anywhere you are.   While Bimbi might not know a ton of commands just yet, she’s eager to learn and food-motivated (she mastered “sit” in record time with a few treats!). She enjoys playing with toys and balls—fetch is a favorite, even if she doesn’t always return the ball right away. Treat-based games are another great way to bond with her and keep her busy.   She’s a big fan of cozy dog beds and fluffy blankets, though when bored, she may chew on them a bit—so she’ll thrive with love, structure, and plenty of companionship. Her happiest moments? Going for car rides with her people. It’s been a while since she’s gotten to feel the wind in her fur, and she misses it deeply.  Bimbi is ready to trade her kennel days for couch cuddles, backyard exploring, movie nights, and being your loyal shadow. She doesn’t think cats make good roommates, so a cat-free home is a must.   If you’re looking for a dog who will love you with her whole heart, who’s ready to learn, ready to play, and even more ready to belong—Bimbi is your girl. Come meet her. She’s been waiting for you.   Email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 26, 2025, 10:08 pm

Story
Hunter is a gentle 60-pound Pitbull mix with a heart of gold. This strong boy, about a year old, was found running loose on the back roads of Tennessee, but despite his tough start, he's in great shape with a silky black coat. While no one has come forward to claim him, Hunter is patiently waiting for a loving family to call his own! Hunter enjoys his daily walks and is working on not pulling on the leash. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 He’s curious, playful, and loves other dogs! He’s been sharing a pen with a Boxer, though we feed him separately to avoid any food aggression. Hunter does the cutest little dance when it’s time for his meals or walks—it’s sure to put a smile on your face! While he hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, Hunter did have a run-in with a neighbor’s chicken , so he might be best suited to a home without small livestock. Critter Cavalry Rescue is a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) that travels to the Northeast states weekly, helping high-risk homeless animals like Hunter find their forever homes. For more info on our mission, adoption fees, and drop-off points, visit us at CritterCavalry.com! &#226&#156&#168 Are you ready to give this playful boy a chance at a new beginning? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to request an adoption application.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 30, 2025, 6:19 pm

Story
Winston’s life before coming to the shelter was one of heartbreak and isolation. He spent most of his early years locked away in a crate, denied the chance to run, play, or simply be a dog. His world was small and lonely — until the day his owner tied him to a guardrail and walked away, leaving him frightened, filthy, and severely underweight.Since arriving at the shelter, Winston has experienced more freedom than he ever knew existed. For the first time, he’s learning what it means to be cared for, to feel grass under his paws, and to receive love without strings attached. Though he's come a long way, Winston is still healing. He’s apprehensive of unfamiliar situations and especially wary of men — a sign of the trauma he’s endured. But with time, patience, and kindness, he can and does learn to trust.Winston is incredibly intelligent and highly food-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. He gets along well with cats and most other dogs, and he thrives in calm environments where he can feel safe and secure. After spending over a year at the shelter, Winston is ready to find his forever home — one with someone who understands that trust takes time and healing isn’t always linear. But for those willing to give him that chance, Winston has so much love to give in return.Could you be the one to show Winston what a real home feels like?
