Hey friend! My name is Milo. I am a 3 year old male pitty looking for a new home. I am a super happy boy, as you can see from my picture. I love to meet new people and play with toys in the yard with my APF friends. I am working on my basic manners here and would love to work on them even more when I go home. Will you teach me?! If you would like to learn more about me, you can give APF a call at 518-374-3944 or come in Tuesday through Saturdays between 12 and 3:30 to meet me!

Story
Hello World! My name is Karma! I am a sweet soul looking for a loving home where I can be myself! I may not have had the best home life prior to coming to the APF so a lot of things are still very new to me. As I am getting more comfortable in the shelter, I am starting to open up and show my true goofy self! I love running around and exploring the yard but will stick close by to my human friends when I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. A lot of things may be new to me, but I am ready to start exploring with someone who will be patient and guide me to a fun loving life. I walk well on leash and I am learning the commands "sit" "down" and "wait" If you are interested in meeting me for yourself, please call the APF at 518-374-3944

Hi! My name is Gretchen! I am a super sweet 7 year old Pittie mix looking for my furever home. I love car rides and going for walks. I am a snuggle bug and love to cuddle with my hooman friends. I'm a smart girl and love to show you my tricks for treats! I know how to sit and shake. I could probably learn some new tricks too, cause who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! I have lived with a dog friend before and would be open to seeing how I get along with another. I do require a home without cats. I'd love to meet you! If you are interested in me you can call my friends at the Animal Protective Foundation at 518-374-3944 for more information, or stop in to see me! Hope to see you soon!

Story
Morris was found as a stray and we adopted him after he had been in a shelter for a few months. Morris is a very high energy dog, who has recently started to become a lot more rambunctious. He loves being outside, long walks, and playing with all of his toys. Morris is also a big lover, he loves to snuggle and give hugs, along with try to sit on your lap. He does suffer from some severe separation anxiety and has a hard time being left alone for even short periods of time. Morris is great with kids, dogs, and cats. While he is used to living with a small dog, we think he would pair great with a dog his size to match his energy and strength while playing. My partner and I are first responders working long hours, and don’t feel we are the appropriate house to provide him with what he needs. Morris requires a lot of stimulation and exercise, and for someone to provide him with a lot more of their time and attention to love and train him.

Story
I was one of a litter of 8 puppies born to an unfixed pet. Unfortunately our mamma and daddy dogs died shortly after our birth. Someone who was assisting the owners contacted SPOT to see if we could help - and SPOT agreed. This dog is currently located in Wharton County, Texas, but can be transported to New York via a licensed, reputable transport company. The transport fee is included in the adoption fee.

Story
Hi all, Bruce here. I am a senior pitty mix with the most gentle soul you can imagine. I just love everyone and I am looking for someone to love me right back! My friends don't really know much about my past, but they have learned that I am a gentle giant. I am easy going, fun-loving, and have a sweet disposition. I would do best in a home all by myself with no other animals. My friends are learning more and more about me every day, but they would be happy to share everything they've learned if you give them a call! I think a home with a nice warm couch and a backyard where I can sun myself sounds just pawfect. Interested in a handsome gentle boy like me? Give my friends a call. 518-885-4113

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ROSCA was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024. She along with 3 other pitties that he was saved with are extremely emaciated with pressure sores that they are currently on medications for. ROSCA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of 4 April 2023 and in April 2024 weighed of 32 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. This sweet girl has a lot of healing to do, but is so loving and gentle. She needs an extra special family who can give her the life she deserves and help her forget the abuse, neglect and starvation she has suffered. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue   YouTube channel  and   photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. ROSCA is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - We do not have cats in the kennels and are not able to say how our dogs are with cats.
