Story
Hey there all, I’m Boomerang! I’m a 3 year old, super handsome guy with eye catching merle coloring and energy to spare! I love being outside, exploring, and staying active. I know how to sit, down, paw, but I’d love to keep learning with someone who’ll help me master my manners. I’m a smart boy and eager to please! I prefer a household that has older kiddos. I might need a little time to settle into a new home, but once I do, I’ll be your loyal, playful companion for life. Please come meet me to see if we`re a paw-some match at APF between 12-4:15, Tuesday-Saturday!!!

Story
My name`s Shenzee--named after the beloved hyena from The Lion King because I`ve kind of got hyena ears. All the better to hear you with! I`ve had my fair share of time here at the shelter and I`m more than ready to take on the next adventure. I. Am. Booorrreeeddd. Don`t get me wrong, these APF guys are trying their best, but what I really need is a active home where I can really work and be challenged! I`ve got little to no sense of self-preservation so wherever you go, I`ll follow! A mountain hike, a dog-friendly grocery store, a park, a car, the pool, the beach, a boat (I absolutely love the water), probably even the pits of Hell because I`ll be your ride-or-die rest assured. My friends here at the shelter think I may be mixed with Belgian Malinoise which attests to my energy level, high-intelligence, and confidence. After getting out my energy, I love to relax with a good hearty chew-safe bone to wind down next to my favorite people. If you`re not a wuss and a smart enough human to match me, please break me out-- I mean adopt me--right here at the APF!

Story
Luna and Mocha are a bonded pair of senior pitbulls. Mocha is a tan colored pit bull mix and is around 14 years old. Luna is a brindle pit bull and is around 12 years old. They are both medium/large dogs. They are very sweet and playful but also love to be couch potatoes. They love to snuggle, play and eat treats. They have done well with other dogs in the past but have not been around cats or children. They deserve a loving home and they deserve to have more attention and socialization than they are getting currently. I think they would be best rehome together as they have been together since they were puppies.

Story
Bonnie, the 9-month-old professional cuddle climber who believes the best spot in the house is on top of her dog friends… or her humans… or both.  Bonnie is the perfect mix of “let’s play!” during the day and “let’s nap in a puppy pile” at night. She adores her canine foster siblings and would love a home with another friendly dog who’s into tag, toys, and snuggle stacks. She’s a smart, wiggly teen who’s learning quickly. Bonnie already knows “sit,” walks nicely on leash, and is doing great with her house training. Like most puppies, she’s still figuring out what’s OK to chew — but with guidance and good chew toys, she makes awesome choices. Bonnie enjoys following her people around to “help” with whatever they’re doing, and she thinks older kids could be fun playmates while she continues to practice her manners. If you’re looking for a playful buddy who also happens to be a world-class snuggler, Bonnie would love to meet you.

Story
This 4-year-old sweetheart came to us from local animal control after surviving a domestic violence situation. Despite her tough past, she has nothing but love to give and is ready to start her new chapter surrounded by kindness. Her foster mom describes her as a snuggle bug who loves curling up under blankets, giving kisses, and always being close to her people. She enjoys watching the world out the window, greeting visitors, and playing gently with kids. She gets along well with other dogs and even cats, and she’s happiest when she knows she’s not alone. Jezzabelle already knows several commands (sit, down, stay, come, easy) and is working on her leash manners and house training. She loves her stuffy toys, enjoys a good bath, and calms nicely with music when she’s feeling a little anxious. Jezzabelle’s perfect family will be one that offers her a quiet, patient home where she can blossom and build her confidence at her own pace. She has done very well with the dog in her foster home so we believe she would do well with a calm canine brother. And her unique name? Those double “Zs” were chosen in honor of Ozzy Osbourne’s passing — a little nod to resilience, strength, and rock ‘n roll spirit. After everything she’s been through, Jezzabelle is ready for the safe, loving forever home she deserves. Could that be with you?

Story
this handsome pup is already showing the world what a special soul he is. Ampersand is learning all about life in a home — from potty training and crate training to the joy of playtime and cuddles. With a little structure, he’s working hard and making progress every day. But what makes him truly unique is his heart. His foster mom says he has a gift for knowing when people need a little extra love. Whether it’s bringing joy to strangers at the farmers market, comforting someone who’s hurting, or simply curling up for snuggles, Ampersand has a way of connecting that feels beyond his young age. He’s gentle with kids, friendly with other dogs, and curious about the world as he continues to come out of his shell after his shelter days. Ampersand is still growing into himself, but one thing is certain — he’s going to make an incredible companion for the family lucky enough to call him theirs.
