This sweet girl is still a baby and so we are looking for families who understand how much work puppies are, who are able to ensure she gets all the socialization she needs, the training, routine and structure to give her the right start to his wonderful life ahead of her. CAGNEY is a little fire-cracker, full of confidence and always in the middle of the puppy wrestling fun, she is the first to grab a toy and will play tug-of-war with the bigger pups and often win. Whilst confident she is affectionate and loving to people and her puppy friends, always in the puppy pile at nap time or grabbing my leg demanding attention and cuddles when I am in the kennels. She will need a family that is active but also can give her the routine and structure that she will need with her confidence so she doesn't get too unruly. She is adorable. Story
Hello World! My name is Karma! I am a sweet soul looking for a loving home where I can be myself! I may not have had the best home life prior to coming to the APF so a lot of things are still very new to me. As I am getting more comfortable in the shelter, I am starting to open up and show my true goofy self! I love running around and exploring the yard but will stick close by to my human friends when I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. A lot of things may be new to me, but I am ready to start exploring with someone who will be patient and guide me to a fun loving life. I walk well on leash and I am learning the commands "sit" "down" and "wait" If you are interested in meeting me for yourself, please call the APF at 518-374-3944

Hi! My name is Gretchen! I am a super sweet 7 year old Pittie mix looking for my furever home. I love car rides and going for walks. I am a snuggle bug and love to cuddle with my hooman friends. I'm a smart girl and love to show you my tricks for treats! I know how to sit and shake. I could probably learn some new tricks too, cause who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! I have lived with a dog friend before and would be open to seeing how I get along with another. I do require a home without cats. I'd love to meet you! If you are interested in me you can call my friends at the Animal Protective Foundation at 518-374-3944 for more information, or stop in to see me! Hope to see you soon!

Story
I was one of a litter of 8 puppies born to an unfixed pet. Unfortunately our mamma and daddy dogs died shortly after our birth. Someone who was assisting the owners contacted SPOT to see if we could help - and SPOT agreed. This dog is currently located in Wharton County, Texas, but can be transported to New York via a licensed, reputable transport company. The transport fee is included in the adoption fee.

Story
Hi all, Bruce here. I am a senior pitty mix with the most gentle soul you can imagine. I just love everyone and I am looking for someone to love me right back! My friends don't really know much about my past, but they have learned that I am a gentle giant. I am easy going, fun-loving, and have a sweet disposition. I would do best in a home all by myself with no other animals. My friends are learning more and more about me every day, but they would be happy to share everything they've learned if you give them a call! I think a home with a nice warm couch and a backyard where I can sun myself sounds just pawfect. Interested in a handsome gentle boy like me? Give my friends a call. 518-885-4113

These pups are in Albany, New York too!

Story
Tyson is loving, gentle, and has an enormous heart. I have been his “owner” since adopting him from a rescue when he was roughly 6 months old. I say “owner” because in reality it is more accurate to say best friend. While he had been abandoned and abused, he could not have been filled with more joy and happiness. From the moment I met him to now he never fails to steal the hearts of those he meets for the first time, or fill with love the hearts of those he is seeing for the first time in a while. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs (strangers or known), groomers, vets, techs…he just always brings joy and love to everyone. He is special. Sadly, I am going through a major change in my personal life that is requiring me to move. I have been unable to find a place that allows dogs. I am happy to answer questions in hopes of finding Tyson a new home where he can bring his special love and energy.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. POPPERS was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 30 October 2023. POPPERS is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of January 2023 and on has an estimated weight of 33 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue      YouTube channel      and      photo albums on our Facebook page      to see a LOT of pictures and videos. POPPERS is an absolute sweetheart, brimming with affection and love with the sweetest, gentle "old soul" type personality. He can come across like a couch potato but he loves to run and wrestle with his friends. When he was in the kennels he did gain some weight, which now he is more active he is losing them - but it is important for his family to be aware to keep him active to keep those dangerous pounds off. POPPERS is a top favourite with everyone he meets. He is a hard chewer of toys and anything other than tough chewing toys he will destroy - red kongs are like scooby snacks to him lol He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving.  He is responsive and is happy to show anyone he meets lots of love. He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi my name is Lily, I'm about a year old and am a true puppy at heart. I like to play with my foster brother Theo and run free in the back yard. I like to play with my toys and make it look like a winter wonderland in the living room. I'm still learning as I'm young but I am food and love motivated. I am learning to not jump when I want pets but I love my humans so much it's hard. I sit and do know paw but I only give it when I want to. I am learning potty and for the most part go outside but do use potty pads. I find my crate to be my safe place and don't mind going into it while my people work who wouldn't mind extra treats lol. I sleep with my people at night and I am a great cuddled. If you work with me as I am still you feel and need training you won't be disappointed I am a great puppy who will give you lots of love in return. Hi
