Story
Craving a cuddly canine companion that likes to give kisses and go for long walks?  If so, Miss Pattie may be the girl for you.  This voluptuous girl is a perfect blend of chill and playful.  She is estimated to be around 8 years old but her personality and actions are more like she is around 3 to 5.  Her eyes say it all, "I am sweet and lovable ". House/crate trained, knows some commands and takes treats VERY gently are some very desirable qualities Patti has to offer.  Her perfect home would be one where she is a house dog with a family that makes her a part of their pack and involved with their activities.  She is not a fan of being outside alone for very long, she prefers to be in the house where her people are.   She has done well with the other dogs in the household tho she can have some food issues when eating a meal and if another pet someone tried to take her food. But, there has only been noise.  Because of that we feed her separately.  But, has had no issues with treats or toys.  Since being rescued by TOTU in July she has been treated for heartworms, spayed and is now ready for her forever home.  Could it be yours? Story
Sassy is approximately a 7 year old pitbull mix weighing about 60lbs. She is fully vaccinated and now looking for her forever family.  Despite some of her scars (a wonky ear), which tells a tale of survival, her spirits remain unbroken. She’s your typical pitty with so much love to give. She only gets sweeter by the day. She was found as a stray and has since been with her foster mom being completely spoiled, enjoying daily adventures in Charlotte, NC.  Sassy is such a love and truly is just happy being by your side. She loves a dog bed and settles quickly. She is easily entertained with bully sticks, benebones, and toys. She loves to sunbathe in the backyard and lay where ever the sun hits and will gladly accept a belly rub while doing so. She is crate trained, house trained, and sleeps quietly in the crate any time needed. She rides well in the car in a car kennel. She has a goofy personality with lots of silly behavior that will keep you laughing all day. She loves meal times and will come in from outside doing her “bunny hops”. Look out for her classic “sassy” lip smack. She is very gentle when taking treats and knows “Sit”like the back of her paw. She’s doing well with bath time and grooming. She loves going for car rides and taking walks to sniff all the new smells. Car rides and walks are definitely high on her list of favorite things (besides snacks). She is working with her foster mom, who is a dog trainer, on her loose-leash walk using a Herm Sprenger Prong Collar. Having a strong handler familiar with the breed to hold her accountable is recommended. She is also working on other commands like place, here, heel and wait. She does well passing other dogs. Sassy has high prey drive for small critters so she would do best in a home with no cats and at least a 6 foot fence. She’s done well with the other 2 year old female dog in the house. She can become over stimulated at first and likes to sniff intently but is easily redirected and will nicely coexist with some management. No barrier aggression while in a crate. She would likely do best with another neutral dog, medium sized or bigger, who doesn’t become over stimulated. Or fine as an only dog, so she can have all the attention!  While Sassy hasn’t spent much 1 on 1 time with kids, her friendly nature suggests she would be good with them. She has done well passing play grounds and athletic fields.  Sassy will come with 25% off any continued training for her that is signed up for with her foster mom. If you are interested in Sassy, please complete an adoption application at lastdaydogs.comMay 10, 2024, 8:49 am

Meet Zero He's a fun-loving, cuddly puppy. He plays hard and when he's done, he wants to snuggle on your lap and fall asleep. He loves his food and can't wait to be fed. He is learning commands like 'outside' and 'sit' and doing very well for such a young pup! He has lots of chew toys since he loves chewing and like any pup it's all about - eat, sleep, play and poop.  Zero currently weighs  12lb and would love to play with you in his forever home. Story
S uki  is  a 40lb ball of love !   She  loves to cuddle  up next to you and  when she does ,  she looks up at you  and   always looks like she is smiling and just happy to be next to you.  Although she loves being where you are, s he is high energy. S uki   currently fosters in  a working family  home  so she is accustomed to being  alone at home for approximately 8-10 hours a  day ,  Monday  thru  Friday with no indoor potty  or destructive issues .  That being said, she will be so excited  when you do  come  home  and she will be a bit jumpy.  But get her outside to potty and let her run around a little bit and she settles down nicely. S uki  loves to get out in the yard and run around and just play.  She hasn’t quite mastered fetch . If you throw the ball she will chase after it because she loves to run but bringing it back , well that’s another  story, LOL !   As mentioned, Suki loves to run !  So, leash training will need to continue  with her new fur parents  until she realizes you are not just going to let her  just  run and  that she needs to heed  to  the leash. Suki free feeds , meaning that food is waiting in a bowl for her  to graze on  whenever she gets hungry .  She is good with other dogs .   There are  three  other  fur babies  in the home  and have not experienced any aggressive issues with her  towards any of them .  There are no children or cats in the home so  we don't know how she would be with  them  but given her sweet nature ,  we cannot imagine there would be any issues . If you are looking for a companion  that loves you, just wants to be  next  you and just  happy to be wherever you are,  please consider Suki. She has so much love  in her little 40lb body   to give to the lucky  person/people that adopt her.   If you are interested in Suki, please complete an adoption application at lastdaydogs.comMay 10, 2024, 8:49 am

Story
Meet Brantley! Quick Facts: Breed: Pitbull X Estimated Birthday: 1/1/2016 Size: 49 lbs Brantley hasn’t had the easiest life. He was a shelter dog at a young age who had a bad respiratory infection and heartworms. With the odds stacked against him already as a black Pitbull in a shelter, throw in some medical issues, and he was the perfect addition to our rescue crew. Healed from infection + treated for heartworms, Brantley found what seemed to be his forever home. But Brantley's family grew over the years, and unfortunately, Brantley found himself on the backburner, and once again subjected to being dropped off at the shelter. Luckily, the shelter reached out to us, and we quickly picked Brantley up - though he is now filled with confusion and on medication to help relieve his anxiety. On a happier note, Brantley is still a great companion and we have faith we can find a true forever home for him. He likes to go on walks, showing off his zoomies outside, and playing fetch.. but it's more fetch for you, because Brantley doesn't believe in the vital part of the game that includes actually bringing the ball back. His absolute favorite game is hanging out with his humans - he's a fantastic nap buddy, always advocating for the cause, and would appreciate a fluffed pillow and a blanket. This boy loves a good car ride, as long as you promise snacks for the goodest boi (him, duh). Brantley is dog selective so would do best in a home by himself or with calm, submissive dogs the same size or smaller than him with proper introductions. He does get a little greedy with toys and bones, so Brantley's goodies - like peanut butter filled kongs - are only included in his "me-time" crate training currently. He’s never met a cat that we know of. He has lived with kids and does fine after proper introduction but does not enjoy being crawled on or pulled on, so older kids would be preferred. He does have crate anxiety which we are actively working on. He can go short stints in a crate but then feels like his people have left him all over again. He’s currently doing better in an indestructible crate, but actually is (mostly) reliable outside of the crate when you're not home. If you are looking for a best friend who loves to go on car rides, walks, play ball, and nap peacefully while you're catching up on the latest Yellowstone episode, Brantley is your guy. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Brantley is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
Thurgood is IN. THE. HOUUUUUSE! Quick Facts: Breed: No facts here. Maybe some Hound. Probably some Pittie. Throw in a Shepherd for good measure. Estimated Birthday: 11/1/2022 Weight: 45lb My name is Thurgood and I’m a 1-year-old male and weigh 45lbs. I don’t exactly remember all the details pertaining to my previous life; however, I do know I was recently picked up from a local shelter and taken to my current foster home. I’m house trained, crate trained, and am working on my leash skills. My foster mother says I’m extremely affectionate, although it can take me just a little extra time to warm up to everyone. I do well with cats and can get along with other dogs but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I’m known for playing hard and crashing afterwards. My favorite activity is chewing, so anytime I get stressed, my foster mom gives me my chew toy, and I’m happy. With just a little time and direction, I’d be your best companion! Thurgood was dropped at the shelter with 4 of his siblings and one by one, they were adopted, leaving only Thurgood and his brother, Tatum, the last of the unwanted - but not for long. Lucky for these two, our foster families were ready for some puppy-loving and gladly took in these boys. This boy may be part kangaroo, hopping over the back of the couch without a running start. He plays with toys in his basket then crashes for a good ol' dog nap. Thurgood is working diligently on being the bestest boi he can be, but will need a family who will continue with his obedience training. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Thurgood is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers appropriate shots, microchipping, heartworm testing (if old enough), deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Our application process includes: a virtual home visit, veterinary record check (please call vet to release current/previous pet records), and a rent check (to make sure pets/breeds are welcomed). Please allow 5-7 business days to finalize the application process. - Local adopters only. Due to us finalizing adoptions at adopter's home, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
Quick Facts about Goose: Breed: Pitbull mix Estimated Birthday: 1/2/2018 Size: 40 lbs House-Trained: Yes Goose joined the rescue initially in 2018 - but she came back to the rescue in 2023 and is looking for her perfect home to love and spoil her. Goose has impeccable manners. She walks well on a leash and knows most basic commands like sit and stay. Goose is also crate trained. She is very food (treat) motivated. You rattle a treat bag and she sits right down. To her credit, she doesn’t counter surf; her foster had cookies cooling on a card table, and she didn’t look at them once. She loves toys and plays ball. One of Goose's hidden talents is telling time. She is always sitting pretty and waiting at her food bowl at least 5 mins before breakfast time. Like we said, this girl loves food! Goose is a nervous girl who needs some time and patience to warm up - but once she does she will love you fiercely and show you her silly personality by doing her zoomies in the yard. Given her nervousness, she would thrive best is a calm home where she can relax and be your best friend. A home with no kids and no dogs would be ideal for her forever home. She is currently living with a cat, so may do ok with one in her forever home with proper intros. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Goose is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Story
Estimated Birthday: 3/7/2017 Brody is a Pit Bull Terrier mix that was originally adopted out as a puppy, but then was unfortunately found at an animal shelter. He's looking for a second chance at love and a forever family! Brody is a happy go lucky, lovey-dovey doggie who enjoys being with his humans, whether cuddling on the couch or following his people around the house. He’s a medium activity dog who walks well on a leash. Brody’s loyal so he takes his job as watchdog seriously (loves watching outside) and will make sure you know when your packages arrive (woof!). He loves treats and bones. He interacts well with other dogs after being introduced properly (he’s on the dominant side), and eats fine with them. Brody loves treats and bones. He’s on special food for a sensitive stomach. We don’t yet know what he thinks of cats. After playing around with his furry friends, he’ll crash in his bed or crate. At this time, we recommend homes with children over 10 years old. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Brody is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Midnight Moon Breed: Pitbull Mix Gender: Female Estimated Birthday: Current Weight: 35 Pounds Expected Adult Weight: 60 Pounds House & Crate Trained: Work in Progress Adoption Fee: $365 Available: May 18, 2024 Hello, I’m Midnight Moon. I was named after my dark beautiful coat. I’m your typical happy go lucky puppy, full of energy and ready for any adventure that may come my way. Like any typical puppy I’m in my velociraptor era in life so you do need to keep an eye on me. Otherwise I am a happy girl ready to learn new things with my favorite treats. I instantly love everybody I meet. I get along great with the other doggies I live with and love kitties. I do get super excited about my feline friends so might need slow introductions to ensure any new kitty friends aren’t overwhelmed with my puppy antics. I haven’t met any tiny humans yet but I think I’d love them just as much, because I’m still learning I do have a tendency to jump when I’m excited so older kids would probably be best. I absolutely love to run around the backyard so would probably benefit from a fenced in yard but it’s not a deal breaker. I love all sorts of toys but especially like those that can keep me busy like kongs, bones, and snuggle mats. I do great in my crate but prefer a blanket over it to help me calm down a little. I’m still working on my potty training but so far am doing really good, but as I continue to learn expect an accident here and there. I’d love to have my very own family, is that you? Midnight Moon is a typical puppy, she eats a bunch, poops a lot, plays hard and sleeps even harder. She's working on her house-training skills but you can expect to have to train! She's a quick learner. Puppies require training, so Midnight Moon is no different. We highly encourage enrolling in a training program to teach your new addition good manners and to help her be well socialized. Please remember puppies demand a lot of your time and pets are a commitment for life. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Midnight Moon is $365 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Breed: Pitbull Mix Gender: Male Estimated Birthday: 11/3/2023 Current Weight: 15 Pounds Expected Adult Weight: 30-45 Pounds House & Crate Trained: Work in Progress Adoption Fee: $365 Meet John Harlow! He is a 5-month-old Pit/chi mix. John Harlow's story began in a field, where he was found alone and extremely emaciated. Despite his rough start, he is a typical puppy: full of energy, curiosity, and love. He weighs about 15 pounds now, but with his chihuahua, he will most likely only grow to be 35–40 pounds. This little buddy is a social butterfly, showing affection to everyone he encounters. He has never met a stranger, and has yet to meet a human he doesn’t adore. Though he hasn’t met any tiny humans (also known as children) yet, we assume he will be great around them due to his friendly disposition. He loves to play with other dogs and shows no signs of aggression to other animals or to humans. He has mastered crate training with flying colors and is content to go when it is time. When it comes to cozying up, John Harlow is a pro. He loves lap time, cuddles, and melting hearts with his little forehead crinkles and soulful brown eyes. John Harlow’s future forever humans will need to help him complete his puppy vaccinations and continue his typical puppy training including potty training and reminding him to have good manners when it comes to jumping. Given his love for food and treats, any type of training should be a breeze! John Harlow is the perfect little companion for those seeking years of love and companionship!
