Story
Quick Facts about Goose: Breed: Pitbull mix Estimated Birthday: 1/2/2018 Size: 40 lbs House-Trained: Yes --=========================== Goose, a 7-year-old pit bull mix, is a happy-go-lucky girl with a heart of gold. While she enjoys occasional zoomies, she's mostly a relaxed and affectionate companion who loves to cuddle with her foster family. Goose has a playful streak, especially when it comes to mealtime! She's a master at catching treats. Her tummy seems to do best when food remains consistent with some added probiotics. Well-mannered and house-trained, she knows her cues, readily going to her crate when asked. She's generally calm and quiet, but like most dogs, may bark at unfamiliar sights and sounds outside. Goose is perfectly comfortable sharing space with a cat. While she can be wary of other dogs on walks, this is likely due to fear rather than aggression. With gentle guidance and patience, she can learn to feel more comfortable around other canine companions. Goose would thrive in a loving home with patient and understanding owners. She'd do best in a household without young children, as she may need some time to warm up to new people. Her behavior is good in social situations where she does not react to other dogs given a little distance. Goose is a sweet and affectionate girl who deserves a loving forever home. With a little extra patience and understanding, she'll be a loyal and cherished companion for years to come. Story
Quick Facts: Name: Bohdi Estimated Birthday: 11/1/2024 Breed: Pitbull Terrier Mix Size: Medium House Trained: Yes Adoption Fee: $365 Bohdi is a sweet, energetic Pitbull puppy who’s learning to embrace the world with confidence and curiosity. He is very dog friendly but is a little too curious about cats so no feline friends for this pup. Bohdi arrived at the rescue feeling pretty scared, but thanks to the presence of other dogs, he’s feeling more secure. While he’d thrive with a canine buddy in his forever home, it’s not a requirement. He’s a young so shows the typical puppy behaviors of jumping and counter surfing but with consistent training, he’ll learn quickly. He is fully crate and house trained. He is a very active boy and loves to play but he is also content to entertain himself with a good chew toy or a bone. His absolute weakness though are tummy rubs! He will MELT for a good tummy rub. Bohdi loves everyone and has shown no signs of aggression of any kind. It may take him a little time to warm up but his confidence is growing every day! Will you be the one to give this sweet boy his forever family? Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee is $365 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Story
Name: Tatum Estimated Birthday: 11/1/2022 Breed: Pitbull/Hound Mix Size: 65 lbs House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Good with Kids: Yes – best with older kids due to his enthusiasm Good with Dogs: Yes, but prefers slow introductions Good with Cats: Yes Tatum is the perfect mix of high-energy fun and laid-back lovebug. This sweet boy has an easygoing personality and a goofy charm that will win you over fast. He’s just as happy playing with toys and zooming around the yard as he is snuggling on the couch to watch dog TV. He’s completely house trained and loves his crate (aka his “room”)—especially when it comes with a soft bed. Tatum is smart and eager to please, already mastering commands like “sit” and “stay,” especially when it’s time for meals or heading outside. While Tatum loves people and is great with older kids, he can be a little jumpy when excited, so smaller children might not be the best fit. He's generally good with other dogs but needs slow, respectful introductions to feel comfortable. Out in public (like busy dog parks or breweries), he can get overwhelmed, so a quieter lifestyle or continued training will help him thrive. Tatum’s Favorite Things: - Riding in the car—he’ll want to be close to you! - Sniffing and exploring the outdoors - Watching Dog TV and cuddling on the couch - Digging through his toy bin to find the one - Enjoying some well-earned naps after playtime Tatum would do well in a home that can give him both structure and love—a family that understands young dogs need time to mature and appreciate boundaries. He doesn't need a fenced yard, as he respects boundaries and isn’t a runner. Just steer clear of chicken in his food, and you’ve got a happy, healthy pup! If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion with a heart of gold, Tatum is your guy. Ready to bring this cuddlebug home? Apply to meet him today! Story
Thurgood is IN. THE. HOUUUUUSE! Quick Facts: Breed: Hound/Pitty Mix Estimated Birthday: 11/1/2022 Thurgood was dropped at the shelter with 4 of his siblings and one by one, they were adopted, leaving only Thurgood and his brother, Tatum, the last of the unwanted - but not for long. Lucky for these two, our foster families were ready for some puppy-loving and gladly took in these boys. Thurgood enjoys relaxing belly-up, and absolutely LOVES to play! He will make a great travel buddy - he wants to be everywhere you are and do all the things. He's happy to hang out on the couch with you and share a bag of Cheetos. He's always down for all the snacks, but respects the budget and will settle for the occasional ice cube. Thurgood plays fetch, and loves to learn new tricks to show off to his friends. He doesn't love the idea of sharing food/treats/bones with other animals. While his foster family is working on reassuring the idea of constant resources, if he shares his home with another pup, young children or a cat, he will need to be fed separately and enjoy his bones in his crate only. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Thurgood is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Story
Meet Brantley! Quick Facts: Breed: Pitbull X Estimated Birthday: 1/1/2016 Size: 49 # Meet Brantley, a distinguished senior pit bull with a heart full of love and a little spring still in his step. Brantley may have a few gray hairs, but don’t let that fool you—if he spots something he wants, he can leap sky-high like a pup half his age! This sweet, gentle boy is hoping to find a forever home where he can spend his golden years being truly spoiled. Brantley dreams of being the only pet, soaking up all the attention, treats, and belly rubs you have to offer. His ideal home would have someone around most of the time—he loves company and thrives on companionship. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving best friend who will cherish every moment by your side, Brantley is ready to jump right into your heart. **Brantley does have crate anxiety which we are actively working on. He can go short stints in a crate but then feels like his people have left him all over again. He’s currently doing better in an indestructible crate, but actually is (mostly) reliable outside of the crate when you're not home. If you are looking for a best friend who loves to go on car rides, walks, play ball, and nap peacefully while you're catching up on the latest Yellowstone episode, Brantley is your guy. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Brantley is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care - Local adopters only.
