Story
Sophie is still available for adoption. She’s the same sweet, playful, snuggly girl she has been since we pulled her, but she does have a new medical diagnosis. She was diagnosed with Tricuspid Valve Disorder and Pulmonic Stenosis - both congenital. The cardiologist graded her heart murmur a 5/6, which is significantly worse than when she was pulled 8 months ago. Sophie has a severe obstruction of 178 mm of mercury (80 is needed to be classified as severe). Because of this her life expectancy will be reduced, and more clinical symptoms could become present as she ages. She is now on daily medication, will require regular follow ups with a cardiologist, and monitoring activity/play since bursts of activity can increase her risk of collapse. We understand that her condition may limit homes that she may be suitable for, but we know her perfect place is out there! She is estimated to be around 3.5 years old, but that is just an educated guess. We cannot guarantee how much time you will have with Sophie. We cannot predict how her body will respond to changes over time, and if her treatment plan will need altered along the way. What we can tell you though is that Sophie is 100% worth the extra care and monitoring! Her foster always has great things to say about her. She loves showing off her tricks for people. She is well behaved in the home and enjoys taking walks. If you have a place in your heart for a girl whose heart isn’t perfect but will love you just the same - please consider Sophie! You can submit an application at www.mercysdoorpetrescue.org.

Story
From Rufus' foster mom - "We rescued Rufus from Cleveland Kennel a few months ago. He was hit by a car and a nice lady called the dog warden because she heard him crying in the woods for 2 days. He had a fracture his left hip (which we surgically repaired) and a broken right leg that healed with a cast and crate rest. After recovering for 3 months he is ready for a home. He is housebroken, crate trained, lives with other dogs and cats. Loves them. He is a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a treat and a ball and he's ur new friend. Knows sit and shake. Very smart young man" Apply to adopt Rufus at www.mercysdoorpetrescue.org.

Story
Brooklyn is approximately 4 yrs old.  She can be shy with new people at first but if given time she warms up and enjoys attention. We are unaware of how she is with kids and cats.  She should meet any new dog before adoption is approved and a decision is made. She does have accidents in her kennel so she may need housetrained.  She does know some commands and will work for food. Here is a link to a TikTok video of her: https://www.tiktok.com/@caninemoon/video/7197577053695249706?lang=en Anyone interested in her must meet her and complete an application, in person, before a decision will be made for her adopter. Story
Flash is a 1 yr old Pitbull/Boxer mix.  He is fearful and concerned over new people so patience is necessary with him. We suspect this may be a reaction to being abandoned. He was removed from a property after being left alone for several days.  He is playful and loves snacks.  He will walk ok on leash but does pull some.  Flash is young and will need some basic obedience but he does already know some commands. As part of the adoption process we require all dogs to meet your current dogs before adoption is approved. Anyone interested should stop in to meet him and complete an application if interested. Story
Mae is a 2-3 yr old Bully/Pug/Beagle mix.  She is just over 60 lbs.  Mae is good with most male dogs but can be selective with female dogs.  She is social, fun, loves toys, and going for walks.  Mae arrived as a stray so we do not have any previous history for her. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for heartworm and has been wormed.  Anyone interested in adoption must stop in to meet her and complete an application.   Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt.
