Story
Brooklyn is approximately 4 yrs old.  She can be shy with new people at first but if given time she warms up and enjoys attention. We are unaware of how she is with kids and cats.  She should meet any new dog before adoption is approved and a decision is made. She does have accidents in her kennel so she may need housetrained.  She does know some commands and will work for food. Story
Flash is a 1 yr old Pitbull/Boxer mix.  He is fearful and concerned over new people so patience is necessary with him. We suspect this may be a reaction to being abandoned. He was removed from a property after being left alone for several days.  He is playful and loves snacks.  He will walk ok on leash but does pull some.  Flash is young and will need some basic obedience but he does already know some commands. As part of the adoption process we require all dogs to meet your current dogs before adoption is approved. Anyone interested should stop in to meet him and complete an application if interested. Mae is a 2-3 yr old Bully/Pug/Beagle mix.  She is just over 60 lbs.  Mae is good with most male dogs but can be selective with female dogs.  She is social, fun, loves toys, and going for walks.  Mae arrived as a stray so we do not have any previous history for her. Poncho arrived as s tray so we have no history for him. He is a Pitbull Terrier mix although we have no idea what he is mixed with.  He is protective of whomever he attaches himself to.  He is leery of strangers and it will take some time (possibly a few visits) to get him comfortable with new people.  Unfortunately we do not know how he is with children or cats.  We would suggest older teens or no children in the home though. Poncho is clean in his kennel, LOVES toys, he is smart and knows some commands.  We suspect he has previous home experience and may be partially if not completely housetrained. Dolly arrived here as stray.  We do not have any history for her. Dolly was afraid when she first arrived BUT has blossomed and has become the shelter goofball.  She loves toys, walks good on leash, may already be house trained and seems fine to be in a crate as well. We guess her to be about 1-2 yrs old.  Dolly is 62 lbs and should not get any bigger. We do not know how well she does with other dogs but she reacts ok to them through the gate and fences here.  If you have another dog she will need to meet them before adoption is approved. Anyone interested in her must meet her and complete an application to be considered.  (our app is not online). Marco is a ball of energy. He is about 1-2 yrs old and about 45 lbs. Marco is selective of his doggu friends but might be able to live with a female dog if properly introduced (he barks and carries on at the site of another dog).  He is messy in his kennel and will need housetrained BUTY in some cases the stress and adrenaline due to the # of dogs and noise can cause them to get over stimulated while in our care.  Marco is playful and likes to go for walks.  He needs s handler that is up for a small challenge because his energy is high and he gets distracted easily.   He is not a bad dog just needs some guidance and training. Anyone interested in him must meet him and complete an application.  Our application is NOT online. He must also meet any dogs that are currently in the home.  Based on his energy and behavior we suspect he is not going to be good with cats (at least not initially) and should be in a home with older children.   Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt.
