Story
Pork Chop was rescued from a local shelter where he was due to be euthanized for space. Thanks to his foster, he was able to be given a second chance! This handsome, happy guy loves to run and play. He can be a bit of a rough and tumble player and can be a bit enthusiastic at times, but he’s working on it! Pork Chop has done well with dog friends, but should be in a home without cats. He is strong but super smart so with some fine tuning and training, he will have the walking skills to match his great personality. We are so glad Pork Chop made it out of the shelter and can’t wait to see who he chooses as his best friend for life. If you think you could be the perfect fit for him, apply at mercysdoorpetrescue.org.

Story
MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Zero is a 40-pound pit mix with a huge heart and an even bigger love for his people. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who wants to cuddle on the couch (preferably in a cozy sweater), Zero might just be your guy. Zero is dog-friendly and kid-friendly, and he’s been cat curious. He does bark at the cat, but it appears to be playful curiosity rather than aggression. With proper introductions and guidance, he may do well in a home with a confident cat. He is potty trained and crate trained, though the crate can still feel a little scary for him at times. His foster family helps him feel safe by giving him a Kong and even leaving clothing that smells like them for comfort. With patience and reassurance, he continues to improve. Zero already knows sit, stay, and leave it, and he’s very treat motivated — which makes training a breeze. He catches on quickly, takes correction well, and genuinely wants to please. He’s not a dog who gets into things he shouldn’t, which is a huge bonus! He absolutely loves Kongs and stuffy toys and will happily entertain himself. That said, his favorite activity is being close to his people. Zero thrives on affection and connection. Like many young dogs, he’s still working on a few things: He can get overly excited and loud in new places. He’s learning that furniture isn’t his personal throne. He may need continued confidence-building when experiencing new environments. Zero would do best with a family willing to continue guiding him with structure, patience, and lots of love. In return, you’ll get a devoted, cuddly companion who just wants to be part of everything you do. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 8 months Adoption Fee: $500

Story
MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Kyro is a handsome Pitbull mix with a heart as big as his smile. This super sweet boy came to the rescue extremely emaciated, and because of that past, he can be a little protective over his food. With a consistent routine and respectful handling, he does just fine—and he always takes treats gently like a total gentleman. Kyro gets along great with other dogs and enjoys making canine friends. He’s crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and loves settling in with a good bone after a walk. Fair warning: stuffed toys and blankets don’t stand a chance—Kyro considers them his personal shredding projects 😄. He can be a bit vocal and tends to jump up when he’s excited, but he’s actively working on keeping all four paws on the floor and is eager to learn. Because of his enthusiastic greetings, Kyro would likely do best in a home with older kids. Kyro hasn’t met cats yet, so his feelings there are still a mystery. What we do know is that he’s an affectionate, loving boy who’s ready to trade his rough start for a forever home full of love, structure, and chew toys. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a sweet soul and a playful spirit, Kyro might just be your guy. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training, & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Story
Poor Jane came to us in need of an emergency surgery. She had a pyometra, which for those who don’t know, is an infection of the uterus that can happen in females who are not spayed. It is fatal if an emergency spay is not performed to remove the infection. It took her some time, but sweet Jane has finally made her recovery and is ready for her next adventure. She has discovered a passion for chasing balls around in the play yard……. and biting trees for some reason. She was attacked by 2 other dogs in the past, so she has a lot of reservations around other dogs and is said to be reactive with them. Since she has been here, we have not had any issues, but a home without other dogs may be ideal for her. However, it may not be out of the question if there are multiple meet and greets and slow introductions. We are not sure how she does with cats or children. She loves to give kisses though! Jane has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)

Story
Bubba came to us severely underweight and flea infested. It took him quite some time of love, food, and skin medication but we have finally got him back into better condition. He is a very sweet boy who loves to play. He seems to be a little bit dog selective, at least with male dogs. Bubba does have mild hip dysplasia, so he will likely need to be kept on joint supplements for the rest of his life. Bubba has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)
