Meet Ivy: Your Future Best Friend!
Location: Memphis, Tennessee. Will adopt out of state for the right home.
Ivy is a sweet and joyful dog who truly deserves a second chance at life. Rescued from the side of the road in poor condition, this brave girl has blossomed since being taken in. Initially timid, Ivy quickly warmed up to her new surroundings. She is fully vetted and spayed. We don't think she will get over 45-55lbs. She is less than 18' tall.
This happy little lady adores attention, especially to be pet by anyone willing to show her some attention, and is always eager for a good treat, walk, or play session. Ivy is very inquisitive. She wants to know what is in every cupboard and box. She is always looking out the window or gate to see what is happening.
Ivy walks beautifully on a leash, is crate trained, house trained and knows some basic commands. She is very smart and quick to learn. She knows how to wait, follow, and tap your hand for a treat.
She continues to play with her foster sibling, which is a Golden, so a home with a playmate would be a bonus.
She does have a high-pitched whimper when she thinks she has been left behind. She grunts when she is happy. She is energetic and very sociable. She sleeps through the night. She sucks on her blanket when she sleeps. She snores at night. She even has the cutest burps after she eats too fast.
Ivy has adjusted well to home life and can navigate stairs with ease. Nothing phases her—not even the vacuum cleaner!
Ivy enjoys car rides, making her the perfect adventure buddy. She loves to be with her human but also enjoys playing with her foster sister. She would benefit from a fenced yard where she can play and run.
Ivy leans against her foster mom's leg when she is working in the kitchen. She lays on her feet when she is sitting. She likes to snuggle on the couch, making her the perfect movie buddy. She is such a happy and affectionate dog.
She does live with a cat, who she tries to play with by chasing. A dog-savvy cat would be best.
