Story
Meet Johnny, a loving, playful boy who has learned his basic commands while awaiting for his forever home. Johnny is athletic, energetic, and full of love, and he is ready to bring fun, adventure, and plenty of cuddles into your life. Johnny's journey began on a rainy day when he was found as a malnourished puppy near a busy road. Thankfully, he was rescued and nurtured back to health, and now he’s a strong, playful boy ready to bring joy to a loving family. Currently, Johnny is spending too much time in a kennel while his foster parent works long hours. He’s eager for a home where he can thrive, ideally with an active mom or dad, or perhaps some energetic siblings to keep him company. Johnny loves to play and gets along well with other dogs, though he hasn’t had the chance to meet any cats yet. Johnny is kennel trained and has mastered using the doggie door for potty breaks. He loves to play with toys, go on walks and running around in the yard. Johnny has gone through training and has learned basic commands and how to walk well on a leash. He is a very smart boy eager to please. If you think you could be the perfect match for this lovable boy, please apply at www.htxdogrescue.org. Johnny is ready to fill your home with laughter and love!

Story
Meet Daisy! 🐾 This gorgeous 4 to 5 year-old American Bulldog/Pit mix is 80 pounds of pure love! Daisy is the total package — quiet, gentle, loyal, and full of heart. She’s fantastic with kids and gets along beautifully with other dogs, making her an ideal family companion or playmate for your current pup. (She hasn’t spent much time around cats, so we’re not sure how she’d feel about feline friends just yet.) Daisy is spayed, house trained, heartworm negative, and ready to settle into her forever home. She’s incredibly affectionate — the kind of dog who just wants to be near her people and soak up all the love. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a heart as big as her smile, Daisy might be your girl. ❤️ 📍Ready to meet her? Story
10 weeks old puppy Godiva is the most velcro of the group. She is such a human oriented girl. Even during play, if she sees her human, she will leave the group to come get some pets. Godiva and her 8 siblings were born on the streets of Texas to a sweet mama Penny who raised them under a trailer, whose owner was feeding them. When they got a little older and started running on the streets and were at risk of being runover, the owner contacted our rescue. Godiva is very smart, sweet, and medium energy puppy, who deserves to find the best homes. They are playful but not hyperactive. They can be an only child, or have siblings. They are good with dogs, cats, kids, people, everyone. Godiva was born around the first week of September and will grow up to be a medium size pup. Their mom is only 40 lb. Godiva is current on his shots, and is microchipped and kept on deworming schedule, and heartworm and flea preventative. As with all our pups and kitties, she will get fixed before he goes to his forever home. This family is currently being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. Their adoption fee includes their vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and leash. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards, if any, must be adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
