Story
Meet Honey! Honey is a 7-8 year old Pittie mix who’s all about the quiet, cozy life. At around 60 lbs, she’s got the perfect size to cuddle up next to you on the couch or nap the day away. Despite her past, she’s one of the sweetest and most tolerant dogs you’ll ever meet—especially once she trusts you.Honey gets along with all other dogs, big or small, though she’s more of a `chill companion` than an active player. Puppies can be a bit much for her (she’s not a fan of face-to-face puppy energy!), but she’s great with adults and older dogs. She’s not at all aggressive, and will happily move away from food or toys if another dog or person approaches—no guarding here! This lady is house trained, does well in her crate, and is very calm around kids (ages 7-17). While she’s gentle and patient with them, Honey would probably do best in a home with older children who are a little more mindful of her need for a calm environment. Loud, fast movements or sudden noises do startle her, and she might retreat to another room, but that’s just her way of saying, “I need a little space.” Honey’s energy level is on the lower side, so she’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a quieter, more relaxed dog. She’s not a fan of loud or busy environments, but with some patience and love, she’s really come a long way. Honey is a little more nervous around men but has made real progress, even initiating contact with her foster dad and older foster brother. Honey is looking for a family who understands her need for patience and kindness. With a stable, loving dog by her side to give her emotional support, she’ll continue to blossom and show her true, affectionate nature. If you’ve got a calm, patient household and a soft spot for a sweet soul who’s been through a lot, Honey might be the perfect addition to your family. Could Honey be your loyal, gentle companion? Come meet her today! Honey is in a loving foster home in the Houston, TX area. Adoption application: https://www.this-is-houston.org/adopt/adopt-application

Story
Meet Sandy!Sandy is a sweet 2-4 year-old Pittie girl weighing about 50 pounds, and she’s truly the full package; gentle, friendly, easygoing, and eager to please.Dog-Friendly:Sandy gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. She’s especially submissive and respectful with older female dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident, tolerant canine friend to help guide her.Kid-Friendly:This girl adores children. She’s gentle, kind, and loves soaking up hugs, snuggles, and attention from little ones.Cats:She hasn’t been officially cat-tested, but she shows no prey drive in the yard and doesn’t chase squirrels, so she may do well with proper introductions.House & Crate Manners:Sandy is potty-trained and has had zero accidents in the house. She’s also a crate lover—her kennel is her safe, cozy spot, and she’ll happily nap there during the day.Energy Level:Medium. Sandy gets excited to go outside but is otherwise calm and relaxed. Indoors, she moves about gently and even her playtime stays low-key.Training & Behavior:No guarding issuesNo leash reactivityNo aggressionNo separation anxietyShy at first, but not fearfulExcellent recall (still improving and should not be trusted off-leash in open spaces yet)Extremely food-motivated and loves training gamesPersonality:Sandy is a tender, loving soul who wants to be everyone’s friend. New environments can make her a bit shy at first, but with time, patience, and reassurance, she opens up beautifully. A steady dog companion would be a great confidence-booster for her.Why You’ll Love Her:Sandy is a truly wonderful dog—sweet, polite, affectionate, and eager to belong. She’s ready to be the loyal companion of a family who will give her the love, structure, and reassurance she needs to continue blossoming. If you’re looking for a gentle-hearted best friend, Sandy might just be your perfect match! Story
If you would like more information about Kisses or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to elizabeth.campbell92@yahoo.com I found Kisses at an abandoned house in spring 2023. I had nowhere to take her, so I continued to visit and feed and water her until I had built a shed with a fenced yard. Kisses is fixed and up to date on all vaccines. She is heartworm negative. Kisses is a happy dog but is also quite reserved. She has never liked head pets very much, just dodges them, but she has come to like very meticulous scratches around the ears. She approaches tail wagging but stops when receiving pets. She is sweet; it just takes time to learn her love language. She’s very skittish around yelling and likes to hide in corners. She’s very eager to show you “shake”. She’s very motivated with food. She’s aware of her smallness and is eager to reach the food before others. When Kisses is excited to see you, she cries a lot. It’s very cute and I call her Crybaby Kisses. Giving kisses is her love language rather than tail wags. She also eventually comes around to belly rubs. She did not like my puppy at first who was very in her face with licks but as many times as she snapped at her, she never hurt her. Kisses is a little timid around new dogs, but she comes around pretty quickly. I think she would really prefer to have a playmate in the home with her. I haven’t had much trouble clipping her nails and the vets say she’s a good girl. I am awaiting DNA test results. If you would like more information about Kruz or are interested in adopting him, please send an email to bethanysmith2624@hotmail.com I adopted Kruz as a puppy. He recently bit me and I am 5 months pregnant. I believe the change in my household has been too much for him. He is a good dog, listens to commands and is good around my teenager. I hope to find him a new home so he can be saved.
