Story
Meet Honey! Honey is a 7-8 year old Pittie mix who’s all about the quiet, cozy life. At around 60 lbs, she’s got the perfect size to cuddle up next to you on the couch or nap the day away. Despite her past, she’s one of the sweetest and most tolerant dogs you’ll ever meet—especially once she trusts you.Honey gets along with all other dogs, big or small, though she’s more of a `chill companion` than an active player. Puppies can be a bit much for her (she’s not a fan of face-to-face puppy energy!), but she’s great with adults and older dogs. She’s not at all aggressive, and will happily move away from food or toys if another dog or person approaches—no guarding here! This lady is house trained, does well in her crate, and is very calm around kids (ages 7-17). While she’s gentle and patient with them, Honey would probably do best in a home with older children who are a little more mindful of her need for a calm environment. Loud, fast movements or sudden noises do startle her, and she might retreat to another room, but that’s just her way of saying, “I need a little space.” Honey’s energy level is on the lower side, so she’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a quieter, more relaxed dog. She’s not a fan of loud or busy environments, but with some patience and love, she’s really come a long way. Honey is a little more nervous around men but has made real progress, even initiating contact with her foster dad and older foster brother. Honey is looking for a family who understands her need for patience and kindness. With a stable, loving dog by her side to give her emotional support, she’ll continue to blossom and show her true, affectionate nature. If you’ve got a calm, patient household and a soft spot for a sweet soul who’s been through a lot, Honey might be the perfect addition to your family. Could Honey be your loyal, gentle companion? Come meet her today! Honey is in a loving foster home in the Houston, TX area. Adoption application: https://www.this-is-houston.org/adopt/adopt-application

Story
Meet Patty Some dogs demand attention the moment you walk into a shelter. Patty was not one of them. She was the quiet girl who waited patiently while the world passed her by — overlooked, underestimated, and somehow still full of love. This petite brindle beauty weighs just around 50 pounds, making her the perfect compact cuddle companion. But what truly makes Patty special is her heart. She shared a kennel with a much younger reactive dog and handled it with incredible patience and grace. The shelter staff could not say enough good things about her, describing her as sweet, tolerant, and simply one of the nicest dogs there. And once Patty left the shelter, she showed us even more of who she is. She rode loose in the car for 45 minutes alongside two other dogs without a single issue — calm, friendly, and just happy to finally be safe. Patty does not ask for much. A soft place to land. A family to love. A lap to curl up in after years of being overlooked. We have a feeling she is going to be someone’s soul dog — the kind that quietly changes your life just by being in it. Now all Patty needs is the person who finally sees her.August 16, 2026, 12:01 am

Story
Memphis is a super sweet 6 years old pup who is incredibly adorable and loving with a super calm and soothing disposition. He loves dogs, cats, children and anyone you name it. Memphis loves his best friend Oliver the kitty and spends most of time with him. He also loves his foster canine sisters Echo and Maddox and chill with Echo when he is not with Oliver. He will love to be in a home with both doggie and kitty siblings. He is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. Please send an application to adopt via savesomesouls.com and we usually get back to you within 24 hours. Memphis came from a high kill shelter where he was a staff favorite. His vets love him, his foster parents adore him and he will make a lucky parent very happy. He is a perfect 10 according to his foster parents. Memphis is 66lb, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea prevention. He is currently being fostered in Texas but can be transported to most states, and even Canada for the right home. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving, and friendly pup to add joy to your life, Memphis might be your perfect match 🐾💙 Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Memphis' adoption fee of $300 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and Harness. Transport fee from Texas is between $200 - $300 depending on the destination. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
Sweetie is an extraordinary pibble pup, who embodies her name in every way. With a heart as big as her beautiful smile, she is affectionate, friendly, and absolutely adores hugs, kisses, and being called sweet. This young lady is incredibly well-mannered, with impeccable leash behavior and a repertoire of tricks, including sitting and shaking paws. She's a true social butterfly, making friends wherever she goes. She gets along splendidly with dogs of all sizes, and kids of all ages. She is not tested with cats yet, but with her loving disposition, we are quite certain that she will be brilliant with feline friends too. With her winning personality and good looks, Sweetie is the whole package: playful when you want to have fun, and relaxed when you need some downtime. Sweetie was rescued from a high kill shelter where she was brought in as a stray. However, her good behavior made her a staff favorite and now her foster mom's favorite companion. Sweetie is only 15 months old and weighs about 45 lbs, fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped, She is kept on heartworm and flea preventative. Even though she is currently being fostered in Texas, she can travel to any state and even Canada to the right home. Yards must be fully and adequately fenced, to be considered for our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com so you could be approved to meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp. Sweetie's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and Harness.
