Story
Looking for a goofy, lovable companion? Casper is your guy! This handsome 3 1/2-year-old mixed breed (American Pit Bull Terrier) weighs about 65 lbs and has stunning gray eyes and adorable cream markings. Casper is full of personality—he’s playful, silly, and sweet. He loves running in the yard with his dog friends, going on walks, and cuddling up for a nap after a good play session. Casper is affectionate and loves belly rubs, toys, and just being with his family. He's house-trained and walks well on a leash. He's still learning polite greetings and sometimes gets excited and jumps, but he's responding well to training. He can be selective with other male dogs and does best with slow, supervised introductions. A meet-and-greet with any resident dogs is required.

Story
QUALITIES: INTELLIGENT, AFFECTIONATE, BEAUTIFUL, OBEDIENT LIMITATIONS: HIGH PREY DRIVE-NO CATS, CAUTIOUS OF NEW DOGS If you are looking for the sweetest companion ever, this is your girl! Belle loves her people. Belle was rescued running close to the Beltway. Now she is a beautiful, healthy, and happy dog. Her personality is very loving and very affectionate. Belle gets along with all the dogs in the home, people and with children. She is suspicious of new dogs for a day or two, but once acclimated does well. She is not good with cats. Belle loves toys, treats and tiny beds, in that order. Belle is fond of running out the dog door to be outside exploring her yard, resting in her bed with a toy in her mouth or playing tug with a housemate. She kennels expertly and never complains. Belle has learned to walk patiently even though she is a mover not a smeller. She does enjoy shredding her beloved toys but it keeps her very occupied. We call Belle our meteorologist because she knows when the weather is about to change and hides in the laundry room. Fully house trained, we have had no issues with Belle in the house. She is raw fed and naturally reared and has just blossomed on this protocol. Her athletic body has filled out and her coat is unbelievably soft and velvety. Belle is fully vetted, HW negative and ready to find her very own loving family. If you would like a meet and greet with Belle, please email Kelly at nod2016dog@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

Story
Qualities: affectionate, sweet and loving, quiet, low energy, house trained, kennel trained, non- destructive Limitations: extremely shy and nervous with people, will require patience and training to build confidence and win her heart and trust. Sasha is a Staffey/Boxer mix and is a happy, energetic and very loving dog. Nestling close to you or in your arms is a Sasha trademark. Energetic Sasha loves to jump and she jumps as if there are springs in her feet. Agility work would suit her well. She walks well on a body harness and enjoys short walks but is nervous outside the home. Sasha is becoming comfortable around strangers, and this is the reason why we are requesting an experienced, patient and dedicated adopter for this little girl. She cannot be cycled through temporary adoptions; so please only serious inquiries. Her adopter should be dedicated to investing the time needed to form a strong bond with her. Once that bond is made though, you will be rewarded with an amazing dog! We have marked her as not good with kids or cats because we feel her nervous nature might interfere with her socialization. She does love her crate and we would encourage crating her with company. Sasha is raw fed and naturally reared, and has blossomed on this protocol. She loves treats like fruit, yogurt or peanut butter. Her coat is a beautiful, shiny auburn color and is so velvety soft. She has beautiful green eyes. A gorgeous little girl, Sasha has to be seen to be appreciated. Please contact Kelly at nod2016dog@gmail.com for a meet and greet, or for more information on Sasha.

Story
QUALITIES: Intelligent, friendly, happy, loves people and likes other dogs, obedient LIMITATIONS: exuberant, needs to learn boundaries Jeb was found starving behind a Kroger in NW Houston. He was very trusting, having no problem coming home with his finder. He had to be boarded for an extended time and much of his behavior stemmed from this. Once coming out of boarding, we worked with Jeb and his exuberance is very manageable because we found he is so intelligent and wants to please. We use a 'gentle' command and he rapidly came to understand what that conveyed. Jeb is a happy but goofy dog. We never know where we will find him or in what position. He is not one bit aggressive with other dogs. His only limitation here is his exuberant behavior which can be misread by other dogs. But his intent is in the right place because he wants to play more than anything and takes corrections well. Jeb kennels with a treat, loves his walks and enjoys learning new things. In the right hands he would thrive learning obedience and tricks. He is not prey driven for squirrels or cats. Jeb is HW-, neutered and fully vetted. Please meet Jeb and you may just fall in love. He's a special guy and will break some hearts. Email us at Nod2016dog@gmail.com for more information or to set up a date with him.

Story
Hi, I'm Radar! I came into my foster home after living on the streets. I am now the happiest of dogs and have a lot of energy to go with all this happiness. I love to learn (am very treat oriented) and am learning so much! I've learned several commands and I'm fully house trained. I love to play fetch - want to throw the ball and have me chase? It will be the best day ever! I love dog toys that make noise. Got a new squeak toy the other day and it completely made my whole day. I love to cuddle with my foster mom on the sofa - sometimes we both take a nap. We both enjoy those snuggles! I love to play with my foster-fur siblings. I can be a bit goofy, so tiny dogs might get stomped. I love to play tug-of-war with my big foster-fur sister, and I love to play in the rain, drink water from the hose, and chase frogs. I sleep all night in my cozy kennel filled with my favorite plush toys and only whine a bit in the morning when I need to go out. I need a fenced back yard to run around in - I can literally entertain myself with my toys, but would love a fur brother/sister to play with. Want a running buddy, someone to take hiking, someone to play with in the backyard...? I'm your guy! I can't wait to meet you.

Story
Hi, I'm Lois. I spent a few months last summer living in my old backyard after my human mom passed away and my human dad went into assisted living. It was heartbreaking, but then my foster mom took me to her house and now I feel loved and safe again. Don't let my age fool you, I'm still very goofy and playful. I love to sun in the backyard, roll in the cool grass, and go on short walks through the neighborhood. Don't have a yard? That's okay. The apartment life would be perfectly fine with me, as I don't need much exercise. However, my most favorite thing to do in the world is to spend time with you! I'm happy to keep myself busy with a kong or antler chew when you go to work and then we can snuggle on the couch when you get home. Still working from home? I'd make an excellent work from home buddy, as I spend most of the day napping on my plush bed. I'm pretty easygoing, as a matter of fact. No need for lots of exercise, as I much prefer working on my couch potato skills while watching TV and eating lots of snacks! I also love to play with anything that squeaks and am really good at keeping myself entertained when you are busy. Sometimes I even toss the toys and chase them myself (but it's always more fun to play with you). One thing though, I love my toys so much that I'd prefer to not have to share them with another dog and would like to live as an only fur child. I've also already attended a group manners class and know sit, down, wait, and some other key skills that will help me be the most polite girl in my forever home. Oh, and I walk nicely on the leash too! If I sound perfect, it's because I'm pretty close, apply to meet me today.
