I AM IN FOSTER CARE! PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION, ONCE APPROVED, GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU TO MEET ME! Born: 3/30/2017 Adoption Donation: $50 Pineapple can be a great companion as long as you respect his boundaries. He enjoys being in your company and observing your activities, often in anticipation of a treat. He is highly motivated by food and not very fussy about what he eats. Pineapple enjoys sharing your bed and playing with strings and laser pointers. He finds watching birds and squirrels entertaining. You'll be pleased to know that Pineapple is diligent about using the litter box and only scratches designated scratchers, not your furniture. All in all, he's a low-maintenance cat. All cats are microchippped, neutered, current on all vaccines, and FeLV/FIV tested at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment. The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. Sheldon is an 11 year old cat that I adopted from a shelter in Chicago about 4 years ago. He is a very playful, active, snuggly cat. He loves to play with string, laser pointers, and his stuffed pet rat “Pancho”. He loves to be held and snuggle all the time. He’s never been aggressive, hissed, or scratched people. He’s scared of dogs and gets along with cats with the proper introduction. He is just an overall a very sweet affectionate cat. He’s never had any vet issues or been sick.

Any adoption inquiries should be directed to the owner at Ellie2979@yahoo.com or (630) 391-3963. Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. Luke is so friendly, and quirky. I found him at 2 years old as a stray. No telling what he got into before that but I was told he might've fallen off a cargo truck from Georgia. He wasn't fixed and had worms. He was warming up one day under my ex-boyfriend's truck and then he became mine. FF 3 years. Luke is a charming, large, and fully healthy 5 year old and 1 month male cat. When inside, his favorite thing to so is sprawl out while he and his human watch tv. He is the best co-pilot.!! He also likes to daydream by the window, listening for critters or birds. When outside, he likes sprawling out on the cool ground, walking in gardens, and picking at plants. He has gotten loose 2 or 3 times, where I found him within the same day in the neighbors gardens, and once he just walked back to the front door where his food and water were. I brush him routinely with Burts Bees waterless shampoo. He is a very sheddy orange cat. The vet says American shorthair but I don't know where the "short hair" classification comes from because I could go on brushing him and removing hair from him for days. He acts like he doesn't like to be brushed but he does. He loves being a pretty boy. As long as you keep him clean he shouldn't provoke any allergy problems. His favorite toys and cat beds are anything colorful that is truly unique, just like him. He like crunchy treats and that is usually how I care for his dental health. I have also used minty gel which he really enjoys. He likes Shiba catfood, and meow mix dry food. If you mix it together for him that's just the best. Praying Luke and I find a forever home give him the stimulation, safe environment, and needs to be met that he deserves. Currently, my household has adopted a pitbull who is untrained and uncrated. And Luke is left for long periods of time, often days, in the master bedroom, where the dog barks and pushes/knocks at the door. I'm also 5 months pregnant and just want to find the right home and situation for him before the baby comes and there is even less I can do.... Please consider adopting this cutie!! It would mean the world to me!

He's adventurous, outgoing, and has a lot to say. However, he very much doesn't like other cats and would do best as king of his castle (we don't know how he would do with dogs).

Story
August is a distinguished gentleman with a gentle heart and a special charm. At 14 years old, he's earned the right to a peaceful and loving retirement, and he's hoping to find a forever home where he can bask in affection and care. August is a shy and reserved cat, particularly around men. It's clear from his behavior that he may have been primarily cared for by a female in his previous home, as he seems more comfortable around women. His interactions are more frequent and relaxed when his foster's wife is present, though he has shown some courage by coming to see his foster dad at night. Despite his initial shyness, August is incredibly friendly once he gets to know you. He adores being brushed and scratched, and his affectionate nature shines through once he feels safe. August has severe cataracts, which means his vision is quite limited. He can see shapes but not much more. This makes him particularly sensitive to changes in his environment. His foster has noted that he gets anxious around strange noises, though he seems to get along well with their dog. Due to his vision issues, August's foster has kept him in an upstairs bedroom for his safety, as he may have difficulty finding his way around. Despite this, August showed his adventurous side by exploring the house when given the chance, though he did get a bit lost. August has a unique sleep schedule. He tends to sleep during the day and is most active during the night. He may meow for attention occasionally, but it's usually manageable and has become a part of his endearing quirks. August would thrive in a calm and understanding home where he can gradually adjust to his new surroundings. He would do best with someone patient who can offer him the time and space he needs to feel secure. A quiet environment with minimal loud noises and a safe, accessible space for him to navigate would be ideal. August's new family should be prepared for his nocturnal tendencies and appreciate the gentle companionship he has to offer. If you're looking for a sweet, senior cat with a lot of love to give, August might just be the perfect addition to your home. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Story
Hi, I'm Trixie. I am so glad you are taking a look at me. Looking to add lots of fun and excitement to your home? Kittens like me are playing machines and snuggle buddies! Yep, the best of both worlds. I know my cute face is irresistible, but remember that I will take up lots of your time and attention while I grow. Exploring your home is what I do best...are you up for the challenge and the fun? Kittens do best in pairs and that means you get twice as much trouble, twice as much fun, and twice as much love! What's more fun than one kitten - two, of course! To encourage adoptions of kittens in pairs, if adopted with a kitten buddy, the adoption fee for both kittens will be $500.00. Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours or email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
I adopted Felix as my second cat back in Early July, they said that he was a stray, and had est. his 2nd bday to be around April of this year. Him and Freddie; my rambunctious 1 yr old kitty; got along great: they played, bathed each other, chilled, and sometimes fought, but usually ended in kisses and naps. Felix is the sweetest cat. He is a Velcro kitty: he wants pets, and chin scratches. I think he definitely requires an owner who can give him a lot of attention, and he honestly might be best as a single cat, maybe one other cat. My situation changed and in the meantime my parents are watching the cats (I live in a small townhouse, my parents a 2story;basmt. With 1 dog&1 cat) he was ok the first week I was not there, but has now started going outside of the litter box unfortunately, even after attempts to fix this and an increase in litter boxes on each floor. This was not an issue (1time) at my place. Im looking for a good person who can really help me help him. 🤍

These pups are in Huntley, Illinois too!
