I AM IN FOSTER CARE! PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION, ONCE APPROVED, GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU TO MEET ME! Born: 3/30/2017 Adoption Donation: $50 Pineapple can be a great companion as long as you respect his boundaries. Pineapple enjoys sharing your bed and playing with strings and laser pointers. He finds watching birds and squirrels entertaining. You'll be pleased to know that Pineapple is diligent about using the litter box and only scratches designated scratchers, not your furniture. All in all, he's a low-maintenance cat. All cats are microchippped, neutered, current on all vaccines, and FeLV/FIV tested at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment. The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. Story
Hi, I'm Milo! I am approximately 2-3 years old and was rescued off my current owner's front porch. I am looking for a new home because my fur sister and I haven't been able to get along, but I am very sweet and loving to my humans. Bonus: I am leash trained and know how to sit on command! My humans will also give you my litterbox, food, and bed. I love toys, lap naps, being brushed, catnip, affection, and most importantly, food - I'll eat anything I can get my paws on and smells good! However, I do not like other cats - I need to be king of my castle! I am very adventurous, clever, and outgoing. I also love to vocally express my opinion, whether I'm bored, need attention, or think dinner is late. I would prefer the company of my human(s) for most of the day, but I'm learning to keep myself entertained with toys. I love to accompany you throughout your day and explore your home. I am marked as special needs because I am FIV+ but I have not had any related symptoms or health problems.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Are you ready to open your heart to an extra special feline friend? Look no further than Max, a 3.5-year-old male cat with a heart of gold and a unique condition: moderate cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) is a neurological condition where the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for coordination and balance, is underdeveloped. This underdevelopment can lead to symptoms such as tremors, uncoordinated movements, and difficulty with balance and spatial awareness. Cats with moderate cerebellar hypoplasia can still lead happy and fulfilling lives, especially in homes where they receive understanding and supportive care. Despite his condition, Max is a complete love bug who adores snuggling up right beside you and purring contentedly. While he may not be the rough-and-tumble type, he's definitely up for some gentle playtime, especially if it involves receiving pets and cuddles. His CH may somewhat limit him, but he's far from letting it hold him back. He's a pro at using the litter box and has no trouble enjoying his meals. Plus, he's quite adept at getting around, although he does need to avoid stairs and any over-enthusiastic dogs who might try to chase him. This observant and gentle soul is fantastic with kids and would likely do well with other calm animals who understand his needs. Max is truly the master of the love flop, ready to give you all the affection his big heart holds. Reach out to us today to learn more about welcoming Max into your loving home! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Alley may be a gentle giant in feline form, but her heart is as vast as her love for her favorite people. Initially shy and nervous, she approaches new situations with caution, taking her time to assess her surroundings before fully embracing her environment. However, once Alley forms a bond, her loyalty knows no bounds, and she becomes a devoted companion for life. True to her tuxedo cat roots, Alley has a regal presence and a dignified demeanor that commands respect. While she may be reserved at first, her cautious nature gradually gives way to warmth and affection as she grows more comfortable with her surroundings. Alley's love language is often expressed through her enjoyment of wet food, a culinary delight that brings her joy and contentment. Alley is seeking a patient and understanding forever home where she can blossom at her own pace. She would thrive in a calm and nurturing environment where she feels safe and secure, surrounded by her cherished human companions. Alley's preference for wet food makes her an easy feline to please, and her gentle nature makes her suitable for households of all sizes. If you're ready to welcome a gentle giant into your life, Alley is waiting to steal your heart with her quiet charm and unwavering loyalty. With her by your side, every day is sure to be filled with love, warmth, and the comforting purr of a beloved companion. Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email bloomingdale@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 90, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Story
Keanu is about a year old and is very sweet and mild mannered. He still has "the zoomies" of kittenhood and will zip around the house but outside of that is very relaxed. His temperament seems like he is growing into the "lazy type". He likes to be held and snuggled. He belongs to my son who is moving and unable to bring him with. We already have pets and can't take on caring for another- but Keanu gets along very well with our dog and cat. We would like to find him a good home.

Story
Ryder has been with our family for 8 years. He came from a shelter and was surrendered by his first owner because the owner was getting too old. At the time of his adoption we were told he was about 3 years old. Ryder is DECLAWED in the front. He has been in a home with 2 dogs and a toddler through middle schooler. We moved states recently and our jobs have required us to be away longer through the day. Ryder loves to be where people are and dislikes change or being left alone. Ryder's a healthy cat. He's only had one medical issue, a histioma (or masteoma?) that was drained in his left ear about 2 years ago (hasn't returned since). Adoption fee will be donated to Orphans of the Storm. Ryder will come with soft side crate, gravity water and food feeder, large enclosed litter box, and remaining food and litter we have.

Name: AshleyBreed: ShorthairDOB: 07/29/2021Good with kids: YesGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesFoster location: Milwaukee, WI Adoption fee: $25 eachFun Bio: Mary Kate & Ashley are twin girls who are BEYOND ready for their forever home! They have been waiting for their forever story now since September of 2021! They have quite literally grown up in foster care, and were adopted once but kept in a laundry room then returned for not being social enough. These girls may be shy, they may be more timid than most want, but they are NOT meant for the outdoor life. They are far too big of divas! They LOVE to play their kitty games on the iPad. They love snoozing in the comfiest spots. These posh girls just need a place to call their own. They are extremely friendly with other kitties but will hide from dogs. They will take time to warm up, but with the right adopter we know you will love them!!! To try and find the perfect home we are willing to give an exceptional adoption discount so PLEASE inquire today! If interested in a pet from us please fill out the adoption application that is located on our website.  We process applications in the order in which they are received.  We will likely not respond to interest emails regarding puppies and/or kittens, we get so many "interest" emails that we simply do not have the time to respond to each one.  We always recommend playtime, positive reinforcement training and a regular schedule for feeding times when bringing a new cat/kitten into your home. Adjustment takes time for both you and your new family member, so remember to be patient and enjoy this new and exciting time!Included in the adoption fee are age appropriate vaccinations, FeLV/FIV testing, deworming, spay or neuter surgery, and microchip.Anti-Declawing Policy:All cats and kittens will have a no declaw policy in their adoption contract with us!  Declawing is a series of bone amputations.  Declawing is more accurately described by the term de-knuckling and is not merely the removal of the claws, as the term “declawing” implies.  In humans, fingernails grow from the skin, but in animals that hunt prey, the claws grow from the bone; therefore, the last bone is amputates so the claw cannot re-grow.  Declawing is one of the most painful, routinely performed procedures in all of veterinary medicine.  Each toe of the cat is amputated at the first joint.  Declawing a cat is equivalent in a person to amputating the entire first knuckle of every finger. Declawing is done strictly for the benefit of the owner.  There are NO benefits to the cat and NO good reasons to declaw.Declawing can lead to behavior changes.  A declawed cat has no way to defend itself and may resort to biting more often.  Due to pain, they may stop using the litterbox. There are humane alternatives to declawing.  Cats can be trained to use scratching posts.  They should have their nails trimmed regularly.  There is double sided sticky tape that can be put on furniture to deter a cat from scratching there.  There are also nail caps called Soft Paws that are glued onto a cat’s nails without harm.  ##1214821##
