Story
Winslow is an American Shorthair, born 2011.  Winslow would do well in a home with minimal people and a calm environment.  She can tolerate other animals, but it takes time for her to adjust.  She does better with male cats than female cats and she previously lived with dogs.  Winslow would also be perfectly content alone.   Winslow needs owners who can manage her health and provide her with a calm and loving home, especially since she is a senior lady!  She has Hyperthyroidism and takes medication daily.  She also takes something for Anxiety daily.  Prior to anxiety medication, she was more aggressive.  Since starting the medication, she is calm and adpts well to new people and places.  Once she is comfortable, she is very loving.   The suggested adoption donation for Winslow is $75, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Hi, my name is Theodore but I respond to Theo. I was born 7/27/20 I’m 4 years old and 10 months. I’m very affectionate and vocal! I may be a little shy at first but once I warm up I’m a cuddle bug. I don’t do well with young kids and I’ve never been around other cats. I hope you take the time and consider adopting me I’m sure I’ll be a great addition to your family.

Story
We adopted Mimosa a few years ago as a kitten and she has always been a talker, very loving, and an overall great little girl. Mimosa has the sweetest girly meow I have ever heard and she is a little shy but also outgoing when she gets more comfortable. Our problem is that Mimosa tends to go poop outside of the litter box and that is due to territorial issues with our other, older kitty. Otherwise, she will always pee inside the litter box, but I know that she would just thrive somewhere else where she can be the only kitty in the home. Mimosa really is a great cat, but we have tried almost everything to help with her pooping outside of the litter box but it just will not help her feelings of being territorial. I just want her to be the happiest she can be and I think that would be where she could be the only cat in a home and the center of attention to be the most spoiled and loved cat, because she deserves it.

Story
Mimzys been with us since she's been very little, more of a runt than anything. Needing a good home as she's overly timid around her brother whose nearly 3x her size. She won't play like she wants when he's in the same room. She loves to play when she does, loves to cuddle, and if she demands attention she doesn't hesitate to let it be known. She is VERY curious when it comes to things and will play til she can't anymore. Really need a home for just her so she can be her little self.
