Story
Lexi is a three legged short haired tabby who love snuggling and getting pet! She is missing her hind right leg, so she can’t jump up onto things, but she does have claws so she will hop/pull herself up onto furniture. She is always loving and would snuggle all day if she could. She has never tried to bite or claw anyone. She has adjusted well to our first child, who is now 2. She will meow if she feels she is not getting enough attention. She is litter box trained and has only gone outside of her litter box when she had a urinary tract infection or when her litter box was not kept scooped (our cat sitter decided to leave it for four days…). She does have sneezing fits every once in a while. We’ve had her tested for allergies and the vet says she is just a sneezy cat! She would thrive in a home where people are home most of the day and want to give her a lot of attention!

Story
Ralph is a great cat. He is snuggly and playful when he gets comfortable, but he is a scaredy cat that will need time to adjust. We're having trouble with him peeing on the dog beds and any laundry left on the floor and our attempts to get this behavior to stop hasn't worked, so we are looking to re-home him. Maybe someone with more experience or fewer cats can correct this.

Story
Oscar is such a sweet boy. He loves to cuddle and rub his face on yours. He enjoys laying on the back of the couch and resting his legs over your shoulder. I love him so much. I need for him to have a good home. I can't keep him because my grandson is extremely allergic. I know he will make a great addition to your family.

Story
Winston is a sweet, energetic orange tabby. He loves people and greeting visitors at the door. He is very curious and likes finding small places and tall places to explore. It takes him a bit to learn new boundaries but he is a sweetheart. He loves cuddling and laying on his human’s chest. He is needing to be re-homed because his owner is moving and can only have one pet.

Story
Nova was found on a barn with a litter of kittens. I took him in but quickly realized that I do not have as much free time to give him adequate care and attention. He is a friendly, energetic 9 week old kitten who loves to play. Often opting for sleeping on my chest, Nova loves snuggles and is very affectionate, typically on his own terms. If Nova sounds like a fit for you, please reach out! :D *Will provide leftover food, toys, a litter box, and a small sized cat tree if interested.*

Story
Snowball and Kirby are both loving and friendly gentlemen looking for a new home.  Their elderly owner is ill and no longer able to care for them.  Snowball and Kirby are usually calm and enjoy being around people.  They are a little shy at first, but will eventually warm up.  Their perfect home would be with adults that have lots of love to give them! The suggested adoption donation for Snowball and Kirby is $100 for both, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
