Story
Pretty as a Penny but colored more like a slivery nickel, friendly, calm, and house-trained Penny loves petting and back-scritches, lounging in a yard, or going out for walks or some playtime. She`s lived with kids, cats, kittens, and other dogs in her previous home and did well, but she can`t be trusted around chickens, ducks or other other farm critters. She`s not shy around other dogs, but people are her first choice for socializing, and she`ll let rude or pushy dogs know when they`ve crossed a line. If you`re thinking a mature, mild-mannered friend might be your best fit, come and meet Penny!

Story
Our sweet and adorable Bruno Bear almost didn't make it out of the shelter alive as he was scheduled to be euthanized for "aggressive behavior." We are STILL reeling over this fact. He is so beyond gentle and sweet, and (as you can see from his pics) all he wants is love and affection. Within hours of being saved from death row, he was rolling in the backyard grass at his foster home, clearly taking it all in that he had just been saved. He loves his foster sister Mochi, cheese, and going for walks. As he is only around 3 years old with no training, we are working on his leash pulling and also not jumping up when he gets too excited. He is working with a trainer weekly and is getting better every single day. He has been an excellent house guest in every way! We can't wait to find Bruno's forever home and family, this guy absolutely deserves to find his "happily ever after." Could it be with you?

Story
Pogo is an amazing ~1yo micro American Bully weighing only about 25lbs (basically he’s a nice cocker spaniel/beagle size), who came to rescue after trauma and having his front leg amputated. That doesn’t stop this fun pogo stick! He races and hops around no problem! He is great with everyone he meets- people, dogs, cats, and even farm animals. Really well adjusted little dude. He’s cratetrained and housebroken. He has the personality to become mayor of your town, everyone loves him and he loves everyone! Story
Gentle giant Yodi is ready for his forever home!   This easy-going boy loves cuddles and making his people happy.  Luckily, he’s great at both!  If you want to laugh, just turn on a sprinkler and Yodi will frolic in the water.  If you want to cry, Yodi will climb on your lap and lick your face.  Yodi is ready to be whatever you need!   Yodi isn’t just cuddly, he’s smart!  He already knows sit, shake, and down. He is already crate-trained, and is comfortable waiting in his crate while you run errands.  Yodi loves food and treats, so will be able to learn even more with positive-reinforcement training.   Yodi likes chew toys and is learning to play fetch.  He behaves well on walks, and is always excited to meet other dogs. Yodi would love a home with a dog-sibling! He will also enjoy being the one and only if he gets his daily walks and exposure to other dogs and humans.  He likes kids, but because he turns into a bit of a cannonball when he runs, we think he should not live with small children.  Yodi hasn’t told us yet what he thinks of cats but he seemed to not care about them when we passed by the cat colony.    To arrange a meeting with Yodi, we ask that you help us learn more about you and your household by filling out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNow May 6, 2024, 1:13 am

Story
Robin came to AFRP after entering Hitchcock Road Animal Services as a stray pup with a myriad of medical needs. Lets just say she didn't experience the best life prior to arriving in our care, but she's living her best life now, just waiting for her new family! According to her fosters, Robin is a sweet and loving pup full of life and fun! She loves playing with toys, going on short walks, and spending time with her humans. Because she prefers to be the center of attention she would do best as the only pet in the household. Trust us, she has plently of love to go around! She is currently working on training, and can sit. She needs continued training with walking nicely on a leash. She is crate-trained. Robin is looking for an adopter who has experience with brachycephalic breeds (flat-faced dogs) and understands their continued needs. She is also seeking someone comfortable with her continued medical needs, such as daily heart medication and facial fold cleaning. Robin comes with pre-registration for one-on-one classes to help with his exposure to other dogs and general basic obedience. She will do best in an adult-only household, or with children 10 and older. Robin is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be scheduled once your online application has been received and approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for an online application.

Story
Looks like: Boxer, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever Mix Male, 8 years old (estimated), 71 pounds Meet the dog with the world's biggest heart! Hank has tons of love to share in the form of cuddles, snuggles, and adoration for his family. Hank refuses to pick favorites-in fact, he's a fan of yours already! He has excellent manners-no jumping up when saying hello, never begging, and asking permission before getting onto a bed or couch. Hank would be happiest in a house where folks have deep reserves of affection ready to share with him. This energetic boy will need people who welcome a dog with spirit, strength, and passions: car rides, long walks, hikes, and fetch (only the best game in the world). He has shown some dog reactivity while on leash, but with reminders and training he's already showing signs of improvement. He has successfully lived with cats in the past, but would require a gradual introduction with any new kitty friends. He admits that his natural inclination is to chase cats (squirrels are also kind of irresistible). Hank sometimes protects his resources when he settles into a home. He would be best in a home as a solo dog or with a pup who is happy to share toys and chews and won't be bothered by Hank's miserly tendencies at times! We don't know yet how Hank would do with children. Hank's dream situation would include humans of his very own to love, squeaky toys, and a yard. Hank's DNA results show that he's a Super Mutt Mix! He's 50% Boxer mixed with German Shepherd, Golden Retriever and Border Collie. Hank was surrendered to us because his senior guardian was no longer able to care for him.
