Story
Our sweet and adorable Bruno Bear almost didn't make it out of the shelter alive as he was scheduled to be euthanized for "aggressive behavior." We are STILL reeling over this fact. He is so beyond gentle and sweet, and (as you can see from his pics) all he wants is love and affection. Within hours of being saved from death row, he was rolling in the backyard grass at his foster home, clearly taking it all in that he had just been saved. He loves his foster sister Mochi, cheese, and going for walks. As he is only around 3 years old with no training, we are working on his leash pulling and also not jumping up when he gets too excited. He is working with a trainer weekly and is getting better every single day. He has been an excellent house guest in every way! We can't wait to find Bruno's forever home and family, this guy absolutely deserves to find his "happily ever after." Could it be with you?

Story
Terrence is a friendly, out-going young dog who greets everyone with tail wags and walks enthusiastically on leash. Terrence enjoys frolicking in the grass and is bouncy and playful. He`s befriended some dogs at the Shelter and is energetic and playful with dogs he`s met. He hung out in a foster home for a period and the foster reports the following: `Terrence is amazing and I love him so much!! He’s the best snuggle bug, loves to play with his foster sister, rides so well in the car and already knows sit, down, and is getting so good at loose leash walking. Terrence is amazing in every way and will thrive in a home without kitties. He’s one of the best dogs I’ve ever met!` A canine companion in the home to zoom around with is likely a fit provided they meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. He met lots of different people at the recent Pride parade and didn`t have any issues. At the parade there was lots of noise, activity and people and Terrence did great! Terrence is sociable, young, and friendly, so with positive reinforcement training and good management, Terrence will likely pick up house training and other household rules and manners quickly! Terrance would thrive in a feline free home. Come meet this stocky gent soon!

06/13/24 23:25Dog Day Out Report from last week:Today I: got up very early and my friend took me to the Almaden Lake Park. I saw and sniffed a looooot of things, had a pup cup and went to a dog and cat store and sniffed everything! My friend told me I’m the BESTEST boy!Three Words to Describe Me are: SWEET, polite, well-behavedNotes from My Walker: Axel is an absolute sweetheart. I’m so glad we had the opportunity to take him out and spend time with him. Here are some interesting facts I learned about him:He was super easy to leash and harnessHe loved the car ride and hopped into the car on his ownHe was NOT REACTIVE TO ANYTHING: walkers, joggers, strollers, bikers, dogs of different sizes, ducks - you name itHe loved petting and would solicit for itHe had the most adorable splootHe was a big fan of squeaky toys.He did well on the leash: he pulled a bit at the start, quickly tired, and then excelled as a loose leash walker. He TRULY IS a hidden gem. Many people we met at the park commented on how cute he is! I don’t understand why he is still here in the shelter. He is a super well-behaved boy who deserves a caring home. Could you be the special person he`s been waiting for?

Story
Gentle giant Yodi is ready for his forever home!   This easy-going boy loves cuddles and making his people happy.  Luckily, he’s great at both!  If you want to laugh, just turn on a sprinkler and Yodi will frolic in the water.  If you want to cry, Yodi will climb on your lap and lick your face.  Yodi is ready to be whatever you need!   Yodi isn’t just cuddly, he’s smart!  He already knows sit, shake, and down. He is already crate-trained, and is comfortable waiting in his crate while you run errands.  Yodi loves food and treats, so will be able to learn even more with positive-reinforcement training.   Yodi likes chew toys and is learning to play fetch.  He behaves well on walks, and is always excited to meet other dogs. Yodi would love a home with a dog-sibling! He will also enjoy being the one and only if he gets his daily walks and exposure to other dogs and humans.  He likes kids, but because he turns into a bit of a cannonball when he runs, we think he should not live with small children.  Yodi hasn’t told us yet what he thinks of cats but he seemed to not care about them when we passed by the cat colony.    To arrange a meeting with Yodi, we ask that you help us learn more about you and your household by filling out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNow June 11, 2024, 10:39 pm

Story
Foster, Adopt OR Foster-to-Adopt me!   Sweet pittie Tito has beautiful eyes, a contagious grin… and a purr?   Two-year-old Tito is healthy, potty trained, walks well on leash, and loves learning new tricks. Long hikes on the weekend get Tito’s energy out, and he spends his weekdays napping on blankets near his foster mom. Tito is easy-and naturally quiet. He rarely barks, but makes piggy snorts and purrs throughout the day.  (We think he’s 1/3 dog, 1/3 cat, and 1/3 pig!)   Tito was shy when he arrived at the shelter, but warmed up with treats and attention. He trusts women a little more readily than men, but bonds tightly to any gentle person who shows him patience and love. Once you’re his person, sweet Tito enjoys giving kisses, getting couch cuddles, and making you laugh with silly bum-wiggles!    Tito loves other dogs, and easily made friends in shelter playgroups. He will be a fantastic brother for another dog. We haven’t yet asked Tito if he likes cats.   Tito needs a dog-savvy home, ideally with a yard so Tito can roll around on the grass. (As we said - part pig.) We recommend a home without small children; Tito seems to like kids, but can be a bowling ball when he gets the zoomies. He needs a patient family that commits to positive training methods - this gentle boy needs spoiling, not discipline! If you can give that to Tito, he will repay you with silliness, loyalty, and love.     Please help us learn more about you by filling out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNow and we will arrange a meet and greet!  June 11, 2024, 10:39 pm

Story
Pogo is an amazing ~1yo micro American Bully weighing only about 25lbs (basically he’s a nice cocker spaniel/beagle size), who came to rescue after trauma and having his front leg amputated. That doesn’t stop this fun pogo stick! He races and hops around no problem! He is great with everyone he meets- people, dogs, cats, and even farm animals. Really well adjusted little dude. He’s cratetrained and housebroken. He has the personality to become mayor of your town, everyone loves him and he loves everyone!
