Story
Patron is 4 years old and best dog I ever had and I will be sad to see him go but I have to move and unfortunately can’t take him with me. He’s a big baby but he is not good with small animal at all his prey drive is to bad. He’s ok with puppies but the introduction has to be slow not well with other adult dogs tho. He’s very loving I’ve had him since he was a puppy. It may take him time to warm up to a new home because me and family is all he knows. But once’s he warms up to you he will be one of the most loving dogs you own. I want him to be loved and in a family that can provide for him and care for him. If ever needed I will take him back no need to dump or put him in the pound

Story
CHICA was a puppy mill breeder and then dumped on the streets where she lived for a year and got pregnant again. We pulled her out of the storms three days before she gave birth. She was SOOO relieved to have a safe and warm place to whelp and raise her babies, and she wanted me right by her side during the entire 24-hour labor, often leaning on me for support... while I promised she would never have to go through that again. CHICA is now spayed and has come a long way in socialization. She has learned to wag tail at strangers instead of bark. She does bark when other dogs walk by, but more out of jealousy than anything else. We think that she was never allowed indoors before since she took months to build up the courage to come inside. Now all she wants is to be somebody's couch potato! She is enthusiastic with affection and friendly with other dogs and even delivery drivers who she barks at until they come inside the yard to deliver a package, at which point she wags her tail and wants to say hello. ***CHICA displays no form of aggression except with a bit of FOOD GUARDING, as many street dogs do. It's also possible she was not fed enough as she was being used as a breeder. Since she is so friendly in every other way, this could be worked on. Story
Meet DALILAH. This "used up" breeder was found chained to a fence in Stockton, emaciated, covered in flies and fleas and dried blood, and struggling to walk and breathe. After taking some time to gain her trust, we took her to an after-hours vet to make sure she had no urgent healthcare issues and got some antibiotics for her skin. Turns out she has the worst case of fleas I have ever seen. Even after the dose of Capstar from the vet and a very thorough wash and rinse while she just sat there with her head on my knee and let the fleas wash away in masses, she still had hundreds of them crawling around and trying to get off of her. We will trim her nails and dose her with a longer-term flea medication and some dewormer, which is likely what has caused her distended belly and maybe her malnutrition, almost certainly anemia. We'll schedule her for our intro vet package (thorough health check, vaccinations, microchip), get some x-rays to determine why she has trouble walking, keep her inside for a while so the flies don't go back at it, get her on a regular diet, and hopefully she will be feeling and looking like herself... maybe for the first time ever. #DalilahTails. Story
Yuji is a big old goofball who loves rolling around on a nice grassy lawn. He loves everyone he meets and is always ready for adventure. Yuji loves to run around with zoomies in his yard before retiring back to the couch for a nice nap. Check out Yuji's cutest moments playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwkPbzR2tCqGBBDWIMflKp6C Yuji was unfortunately hit by a car in Manteca and when his owners were contacted to let them know their family dog was injured and in the shelter, they chose to surrender him over the phone instead of taking him home. Since the shelter has no veterinary resources, he had to find rescue right away or be euthanized. Better World Rescue took this sweet boy in and we are so happy that we did. He is great in the car, sweet with kids, and friendly with other dogs after slow introductions. He has now recovered fully from his injuries and has a clean bill of health for adoption. Yuji is house-trained, crate-trained and knows some basic commands. He is recommended to be fed separately in his crate but is otherwise good with other dogs. He is not recommended to live with cats as he has moderate prey drive. He is working on walking a bit more calmly on leash, but seeing this happy boy prance around is actually pretty cute. Yuji is microchipped, neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Give this sweet boy his forever home today! Fill out an application at: https://betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application/ One of our volunteers will reach out within one business day to set up a meet and greet and answer any questions.

Story
Meet Baby, a puppy with a heartwarming story. Found abandoned behind a dumpster, she was severely emaciated and weighed only 9 pounds. Despite her challenging start, Baby has transformed into a healthy and happy puppy. Baby's journey has left her with a slight difficulty in seeing her surroundings, but her resilience shines through. She is not blind but a little visually impaired. She is currently working on house training and requires strict supervision, but her loving nature makes her a wonderful companion. Check out Baby's video playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwmRUoQRhq6RxupyxpeETsGn In terms of personality, Baby is a playful and vocal pup. She loves games like tug o' war, fetch, and running in the yard. Social and friendly, she gets along well with children, cats, and other dogs. Baby is the perfect addition to any family, bringing joy and warmth. Her favorites include a variety of toys such as rope toys, squeaky stuffed toys, bones, and Kongs. With a moderate energy level, Baby enjoys daily walks, playtime with other dogs, and exploring her surroundings with a love for sniffing adventures. Cuddling is one of Baby's cherished activities. She adores snuggling up next to you on the couch or bed, reveling in the affection she receives. However, due to her past experiences, Baby struggles with separation anxiety. A loving family or individual who can provide near-constant companionship would be ideal for her. Whether you're a family or an individual seeking a loyal and affectionate companion, Baby is a versatile match. She is waiting for her forever home, eager to share her love and companionship. Could you be the one to provide Baby with the loving home she deserves? Baby is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Baby to see if she is a good fit for your family, please fill out our adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and to schedule a meet.
