Story
Meet DALILAH. This "used up" breeder was found chained to a fence in Stockton, emaciated, covered in flies and fleas and dried blood, and struggling to walk and breathe. After taking some time to gain her trust, we took her to an after-hours vet to make sure she had no urgent healthcare issues and got some antibiotics for her skin. Turns out she has the worst case of fleas I have ever seen. Even after the dose of Capstar from the vet and a very thorough wash and rinse while she just sat there with her head on my knee and let the fleas wash away in masses, she still had hundreds of them crawling around and trying to get off of her. We will trim her nails and dose her with a longer-term flea medication and some dewormer, which is likely what has caused her distended belly and maybe her malnutrition, almost certainly anemia. We'll schedule her for our intro vet package (thorough health check, vaccinations, microchip), get some x-rays to determine why she has trouble walking, keep her inside for a while so the flies don't go back at it, get her on a regular diet, and hopefully she will be feeling and looking like herself... maybe for the first time ever. #DalilahTails. Story
CHICA was a puppy mill breeder and then dumped on the streets where she lived for a year and got pregnant again. We pulled her out of the storms three days before she gave birth. She was SOOO relieved to have a safe and warm place to whelp and raise her babies, and she wanted me right by her side during the entire 24-hour labor, often leaning on me for support... while I promised she would never have to go through that again. CHICA is now spayed and has come a long way in socialization. She has learned to wag tail at strangers instead of bark. She does bark when other dogs walk by, but more out of jealousy than anything else. We think that she was never allowed indoors before since she took months to build up the courage to come inside. Now all she wants is to be somebody's couch potato! She is enthusiastic with affection and friendly with other dogs and even delivery drivers who she barks at until they come inside the yard to deliver a package, at which point she wags her tail and wants to say hello. ***CHICA displays no form of aggression except with a bit of FOOD GUARDING, as many street dogs do. It's also possible she was not fed enough as she was being used as a breeder. Since she is so friendly in every other way, this could be worked on. Story
Smalls is a 3year old American Bully XL. He unfortunately is not getting along with our other dog. He is a BIG lover and just wants to be someones big baby. He knows basic commands sit, heal, stay etc and is potty trained. He needs to be in a home with no other pets. Needs exercise but can be lazy. We suggest he's in an adult only home. He can be nervous with new people. We are absolutely devastated that we have to rehome him and any potential adopter will be FULLY VETTED!!!!

Story
Barracuda, or Cuda for short is a 6 month old and 21.6 pound (and growing) puppy! He is a special guy that was transferred to us for medical treatment. Cuda had a fractured leg, that has been healing due to strict cage rest, which can be very tough for a young and growing puppy! Cuda will need to build up to normal puppy playtimes slowly but has all the normal puppy antics and sillinessCuda was living in a foster home and is reported to be mostly potty trained, and very playful! He loves his toys, cuddling, and snacks. Cuda is currently available in the shelter, and can learn some manners and may be too much for some animals.Cuda does not have a history with children but may do well with puppy savvy children.

Story
Pringles is a 1 year old 50 pounds. She`s a happy girl who loves to meet new people and play with other dogs! If you`re looking for a friend to take to the park or keep you company on a hike, she would love to come with you! She already knows `sit` and `lay down` and is highly treat motivated, making her a great option for someone who wants to teach their dog fun tricks! Pringles recently went on a FURlough Fieldtrip downtown! She`s an absolute sweetheart! Was good when greeting others and we went to a dog friendly restaurant where she greeted another dog successfully. She would be a great cuddle bug or dog for taking out on the town. I have done well on playdates with dogs at the shelter. I may do well with yours with a proper introduction! I don’t have a history with cats. I may do well with them with a slow introduction.I have a history of living with children.
