Story
Amazingly sweet guy. Rescue. Little anxiety if alone but has adjusted. Ideally needs a home someone is around more. We both work so he's alone most of the time now. Even though he sleeps all day, he likes someone around and would like to be able to be outside more! Think he would love to have a friend to play with but don't know how he'll respond at first. He's great with his Chihuahua 'sisters' but they are pretty bossy. NEEDS TRAINING! He will respond incredibly well to training. Would love space to run around and play. Housebroken. No bad habits. Needs a loving home. Please.

Story
CHICA was a puppy mill breeder and then dumped on the streets where she lived for a year and got pregnant again. We pulled her out of the storms three days before she gave birth. She was SOOO relieved to have a safe and warm place to whelp and raise her babies, and she wanted me right by her side during the entire 24-hour labor, often leaning on me for support... while I promised she would never have to go through that again. CHICA is now spayed and has come a long way in socialization. She has learned to wag tail at strangers instead of bark. She does bark when other dogs walk by, but more out of jealousy than anything else. We think that she was never allowed indoors before since she took months to build up the courage to come inside. Now all she wants is to be somebody's couch potato! She is enthusiastic with affection and friendly with other dogs and even delivery drivers who she barks at until they come inside the yard to deliver a package, at which point she wags her tail and wants to say hello. ***CHICA displays no form of aggression except with a bit of FOOD GUARDING, as many street dogs do. It's also possible she was not fed enough as she was being used as a breeder. Since she is so friendly in every other way, this could be worked on. Story
Meet DALILAH. This "used up" breeder was found chained to a fence in Stockton, emaciated, covered in flies and fleas and dried blood, and struggling to walk and breathe. After taking some time to gain her trust, we took her to an after-hours vet to make sure she had no urgent healthcare issues and got some antibiotics for her skin. Turns out she has the worst case of fleas I have ever seen. Even after the dose of Capstar from the vet and a very thorough wash and rinse while she just sat there with her head on my knee and let the fleas wash away in masses, she still had hundreds of them crawling around and trying to get off of her. We will trim her nails and dose her with a longer-term flea medication and some dewormer, which is likely what has caused her distended belly and maybe her malnutrition, almost certainly anemia. We'll schedule her for our intro vet package (thorough health check, vaccinations, microchip), get some x-rays to determine why she has trouble walking, keep her inside for a while so the flies don't go back at it, get her on a regular diet, and hopefully she will be feeling and looking like herself... maybe for the first time ever. #DalilahTails. They call me One Eye'd Lucas on account of my bad right eye. Believe it or not my left one is the good one! HAHA! Just kidding! I am a grown up dog (5 years old!) and I weigh about 50 pounds. I'm a very handsome fellow and I've been told I have excellent manners.  Interested in adopting? Visit our shelter during open hours and ask about One Eye'd Lucas A050520April 21, 2024, 7:49 pm

Story
Kameha has been a part of our family since he was 4 weeks old. He grew up in an apartment with 4 children. He loves to be a part of the family, cuddle, watch movies, and play outside. Kameha has a really kind playful spirit, loves other dogs, and gets excited to be around people in general. We recently had to relocate and unfortunately our landlord does not allow pets. We’ve attempted to find another home to live in to accommodate our family size and price range but cannot find an area or a landlord to accommodate all of our needs. Our mother stepped up and has been able to have him in her home for the time being but he is in need of a permanent home a loving home with kind loving people who will show him the love and attention he deserves. As difficult as this is, we are needing to re-home him and know he will be confused and sad but will definitely break out of his shell and show his beautiful personality and loving spirit.
