Story
When it comes to changing a life, it takes a village. Partnering with a local animal shelter and All Breed Rescue & Training, if we are able to find a foster for a girl named Sunshine, she comes with a village built-in! And you know if she has this many people who believe in her and the life she could have, she's something very special.  Found abandoned and terrified in the Denver area, “Sunny” is a beautiful 4yr old American Staff/Corso mix. Sunny was clearly abused and overbred, so, understandably, she is slow to warm up to new people, is still pretty afraid of most of the world and doesn’t trust other animals. However, once you win her over (which isn’t to hard to do with a few good treats), she will become your most loyal companion and will show you nothing but love, playfulness and an unbreakable bond.  The amazing All Breed Rescue & Training has offered to bring her into their program & care at their Colorado Springs facility, supporting both Sunny and her foster family. But this is only possible if Underdogs is able to find her a dedicated foster. Her foster home requirements are an adult only home as the only pup, in/near/willing to travel to CO Springs for potential in-person foster training, experience with large breed dogs/dogs with some fearfulness and mild reactivity, and who are committed long-term, if necessary. Sunny is truly an amazing dog and though it sounds like she has a lot stacked up against her, she has a whole network of support behind her to make sure she is successful in her new home. So many people would say "no" to a dog like Sunny, but we know her sunniest sides - everything that is loving, endearing and oh so darling - will warm the right heroes heart and help her overcome her heartbreaking past. If you feel you may be a good fit for Sunny and would like to be considered as her foster and/or foster to adopt, please fill out anapplication here: https://underdogsrescue.org/adopt-form/.  Underdogs is a small volunteer-based animal rescue and we unfortunately do not have the resources to respond to phone and email inquires about our adoptable animals at this time. If you're interested in learning more or setting up a meeting with one of our animals, please complete an adoption application first. It may take up to two weeks for application review and one of our coordinators will reach out to you as soon as we are through the intitial review process. We appreciate your patience and understanding! Thank you!  ##1860728##

Story
Hi I am Veruska, My birthday is approx.  9/6/2021 I LOVE people. My foster parent tells me that I am as sweet as can be. My whole body wiggles when they come home from work and we love cuddling together on the couch.  I love laying in the sun and running around the backyard too.  I am a pretty easy dog, I  keep myself entertained when my people are gone, I potty outside and if you want to teach me tricks, I am a good learner. If these are some traits you are looking for in a dog, please fill out an application and come meet me, I can't wait to get to my forever home.  From my trainer: I went to visit Veruska yesterday, I am amazed at how calm she is and how quickly she has adapted to her new environment with her new foster dad.  She is very patient with her new foster Dad and reads his body language cues like a champ. She is truly a remarkable dog. It's hard to put into words how amazing she is.  Here's a new video to add to her bio too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiFQrXTEZIQ     Her adoption fee is $375. To meet lovely Verukska, put in an application at www.eapl.com May 5, 2024, 11:34 am

Story
Mando is named after the Mandalorian because he too is a foundling. Our neighbors found him wandering the street as a puppy and after being unable to find any owners they were going to take him to a shelter. We volunteered to take him into our home instead. He has been with us for the past two years but unfortunately he is not a good fit for our family and has some trouble getting along with our other pets. He is a sweet smart guy who is very loyal to his main human but would be so much happier as a single pup in a family with older children. We are looking to find him his loving forever home where he can be the center of attention and get all the cuddles! This is a lap dog for sure! High energy, he loves to run run run, however he plays rough and can forget how strong he is. We love him and want to see him thrive, we're just not the right family long term.

Story
Greetings and salutations, Colorado, it’s me, Gonzo! I like to fancy myself a courteous and honorable gent, and my mom always told me begging is bad manners, but the Underdogs assured me that begging for a hero to help save you is the exception to that rule. Allow me to properly introduce myself. My name is Gonzo and I’m a 2-3 year-old gentle giant Boxer/American Bulldog mix buddy and I'm crossing all my paws for a hero foster or adopter. My Underdogs foster folks can only surmise that I was once somebody’s well-loved guy before I ended up in the dog clink.  I have impeccable bathroom manners, walk politely on leash and lounge quietly on my dog bed.  I’ll never know why my previous peoples stopped loving me and why they left me to wander the cold winter streets alone. What I do know, though, is that I’ve never stopped loving the peoples, ALL the peoples. Because man alive, do I love them! I could sweetly lean into them for pets and cuddles all day long. And if they gave me proper permission, I’d also happily cover them in my signature Gonzo smooches. It’s also my sole mission in life to make them laugh with my hilarious antics and sweet demeanor. I'm a calm dude in the home, but I also love to go for runs, walks and hikes. Basically, I'm down for all the Colorado adventuring.  I do well around other good fit dog friends, but my best fit home may be one where I'm your only four-legged best bud. Believe me, I've got so much love to give, one Gonzo guy is all you'll ever need. I truly am such an easy well-mannered giant lover, I just know you'll love me once you meet me.  I'm neutered, vaccinated  If you’re interested in learning more about me and hopefully set up a meeting, please fill out an adoption application at https://underdogsrescue.org/adopt-form/  and if you're interested in helping spring me from this sad and lonely dog clink by helping to foster me, I would be soo sooo grateful, please fill out a foster application at https://underdogsrescue.org/foster-form/ .  ##1906137##
