Buck 50lbs Mix breed Neutered Male 6 years old **SUPER friendly boy. Good with people and dogs. **He was left behind by his family 5 years ago and has been on the street ever since, being fed by an elderly lady. **Loves a comfy bed and to chill (not high energy at all). **Working on leash skills and will get more practice at his foster home. **Loves to be outside, but also has a great appreciation for air conditioning! He is so loving, so happy, very polite (sits for treats), loves all dogs, walking all over house. A little fearful of the male in the house but slowly opening up Medical: **Up to date on basic shots (bordetella, rabies and DAPPL) **Bloodwork compelted, looks normal. 4dx testing came back postive for heartworms but negative for all tick diseases) **Microchipped Heartworm positive. POSO has already started treatment and covers the cost of the treatment through our partner vet. Heartworm is a non contagious disease that is spread only through a bite of an infected mosquito. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Utah, boxer/pitbull mix, 70 lb, 4-5 yo, neutered maleUtah is a beautiful dog. He is calm, friendly, and happy with whatever activities are going on. He has a serious look and intense gaze, but personality-wise he is gentle, not that serious and loves to play. He is better with female dogs and a bit dominant with the male dogs. Bonded with Hutla, always goes to her kennel to check on her and get her out to play. Needs a fenced yard with 6' fence. Was successfully treated for heartworm. Adoption fee $325. Bug- who also goes by Buggy, stink-bug, buggy girl, is an 8 year old female Boxer. Our family has grown over the years since Bug has been with us and she would be more comfortable being in a calmer environment with fewer opportunities to be startled. She is house trained, crate-trained, walks well on leash and spends most of her day lounging around at the foot of her owner. She loves to swim, playing keepy-uppy with balloons and chasing balls. Her ideal home would be as an only-child (kid-free and dog-free) and with an experienced dog owner who can understand and be observant of her cues. She can be nervous at times so is looking for a confident owner willing to give her the time and patience to learn and understand her. She can be cautious when meeting new people but makes great friends once she's comfortable. She is still a cuddle-bug and has lots of love to give and life to live with a person that is well suited for her.

Meet Beno - the biggest lap dog we`ve got right now! When you meet him, expect to see his silly grin with a lolling tongue and wiggly rear end! His favorite past times are long sniffy walks, playing fetch or tug-o-war, chasing plush toys and playing in the water. He has a repertoire of tricks he`s happy to show off for you including sit, stay, spin, lay down, roll over, and shake! Beno has not lived with kids before so children over the age of 10 are recommended. Beno has enjoyed meeting dogs here at the shelter and is a great adult dog ambassador for our puppies! He did not live with other animals in his previous home, so if you have a resident dog, bring them down for a meet and greet to see if they`re fast friends. Beno is also comfortable being crated while his family is not home, especially if left with a chew to munch on! He`s a favorite of our training team and will often spend time with them in their office just hanging out. He`d love to find his family for some sweet, cuddly hang out time!Description of Beno from his foster home: `He`s definitely a `play hard, rest hard` kind of dog. He loves walks with a purpose, enjoys a good game of tug, and has a fun sense of adventure. But once he`s home, he`s also a calm, gentle, snuggly couch potato. And it`s been great seeing that he does well with other dogs too!`

Daisy is the sweetest gal with all the love in the world to give to the right person. While Daisy may take some time to adjust to a new family, she has great manners in a home - she knows multiple commands and is fully housebroken! She can be fearful with some new people, especially male-presenting individuals, but once she warms up her smile and tail wag will warm your heart. Daisy loves to go on quiet strolls, and is a huge fan of splashing around in the creek! She is an incredibly smart lady who knows a number of commands including sit, down, touch, and shake. Because of her tender personality, a home with individuals 18 and over is required. Daisy lived with a dog in her previous home and while they played often, she simply isn`t a fan if sharing her things, so she will need to be the only animal in her next home. We`ve really enjoyed watching Daisy blossom while in care with us and hope you will give her that chance, too.

Spuds is a BIG goofy boy! He loves nothing more than playing fetch or romping around with a stuffy - as long as you are by his side, he`s the happiest guy! After a bit of playtime he is happy to snooze the day away, waking up every so often to request pets of course. His previous family let us know that he did well with other dogs he met, so if you have another dog and are interested in Spuds, bring them by so we can set up a doggie meet-and-greet here at the shelter. Spuds was a bit too interested in the cat in his previous home, so HSBV will only rehome him to a feline-free home. He has spent some time living in a home with kids and did well, so he might enjoy a household with kids that are okay with his size! He truly has never met a human he doesn`t want to befriend, he is the friendliest guy with the biggest heart
