Story
Meet Chacha Female DOB: May 22, 2024 Weight: 29 pounds (medium small) Breed: Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Spayed (Fixed) (Spayed during a community campaign — no paperwork available) Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Chacha T is a loving, social girl with a happy personality and a wonderful balance of affection and playful energy. She absolutely loves going on walks and enjoys spending time with her people, making her a great companion for someone who enjoys having a dog involved in daily life and activities. She also gets along well with: Dogs Children Chacha T does not do well with cats and would do best in a cat-free home. Some dogs naturally have stronger prey-drive tendencies or become overly focused on smaller animals depending on breed traits, personality, and past experiences. She has beautifully matured beyond the puppy stage while still keeping a fun, playful spirit. Chacha T enjoys companionship, interaction, and being included as part of the family. A Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Mix is typically a loyal, intelligent, and affectionate companion with a wonderful balance of playful energy and steadfast devotion. This breed mix often combines the Boxer's fun-loving, people-oriented personality with the Black Mouth Cur's confidence, work ethic, and strong loyalty to their family. They are happiest when they are included in everyday life and enjoy being active alongside the people they love. These dogs are eager to learn and respond well to positive reinforcement, making them highly trainable and rewarding companions. They enjoy daily exercise, outdoor adventures, interactive games, and activities that challenge both their mind and body. While they have an energetic side, they are also known for being affectionate and enjoy relaxing with their family after an active day. A Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Mix would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily exercise and outdoor activities Continued positive reinforcement training Mental stimulation and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine Plenty of companionship and family interaction A lifelong commitment to their emotional and physical well-being With love, leadership, and consistency, a Boxer / Black Mouth Cur Mix grows into a confident, devoted, and well-mannered companion who forms deep bonds with their family and is always ready for the next adventure. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Chacha T will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and consistency Continued socialization and engagement Daily exercise and mental stimulation Patience during adjustment periods Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Chacha T will need: Daily walks and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and updated vaccinations Preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because vaccine records are unavailable and vaccines are currently due, adopters should establish veterinary care promptly after adoption to update and maintain her preventative care schedule. Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping her live a healthy and happy life. Chacha T is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? **Meet Your Future Best Friend & Hiking Buddy! **  Liam is a boxer/pitbull mix. Shelter thought he was a Great Dane Mix... uh, no sir! He is currently 45 pounds.  Neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.   Looking for a total cuddle bug with the heart of a loyal protector? This handsome boy is ready to find his forever home!    * **The Ultimate Snuggle Bug:** Loves nothing more than climbing into bed at night for cuddles. He thrives on affection, love, and mental stimulation.    * **Leash Legend in Training:** He is an *amazing* leash walker—zero pulling and completely non-reactive to bikes, other dogs, or urban distractions! He's building his confidence every day and is going to make an incredible hiking partner as he grows.    * **Dog & Cat Status:** Great with other dogs (though he loves a good, playful puppy-rough style and just needs a gentle redirect when he gets too enthusiastic). We recently passed a cat on a walk, and he was just curiously polite!    * **A Total Sweetheart:** He's fine with everyone, including men, but he definitely has a extra-special place in his heart for his foster mom and daughter—he is a complete sucker for his favorite ladies!    * **House Manners:** Crate-trained while you're away, non-aggressive, and a total shadow when you're home. He’s already got huge paws (though we think he’s done growing up and just ready to fill out into his handsome frame!).    If you're looking for a devoted, smart, and affectionate companion, come meet him!   Put in an application at eapl.com His adoption fee is $375September 12, 2026, 11:11 am

Story
Meet Zuma Zuma is a sweet, loving, and outgoing 8 month old boy who is ready to find his forever family! He is a curious guy who loves exploring the world around him and taking everything in. He especially enjoys going on walks and is already a great walker on a leash. Zuma is very social and loves being around his people. He is friendly with everyone he meets and is always excited to make new friends. He also loves spending his days playing with the resident dogs, chewing on bones, and having fun with his favorite toys. He has even formed a special bond with one of his foster sisters, and the two spend a good part of their day playing together. At night, Zuma sleeps great in his crate. He usually needs a little encouragement (and some treats!) to go in, but once he is settled, he lays down and falls right asleep. Occasionally, if he hears people still awake, he may whine a little because he doesn't want to miss out—but it doesn't last long. He does well with the sit command and is currently learning focus and touch. Zuma is a happy, affectionate, playful puppy who loves people, dogs, walks, toys, and plenty of attention. He has so much personality and love to give, and he would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a fun and loving companion. ##2813305##

Story
Meet Beno - the biggest lap dog we`ve got right now! When you meet him, expect to see his silly grin with a lolling tongue and wiggly rear end! His favorite past times are long sniffy walks, playing fetch or tug-o-war, chasing plush toys and playing in the water. He has a repertoire of tricks he`s happy to show off for you including sit, stay, spin, lay down, roll over, and shake! Beno has not lived with kids before so children over the age of 10 are recommended. Beno has enjoyed meeting dogs here at the shelter and is a great adult dog ambassador for our puppies! We are requiring another pup to help keep Beno company in his next home, so bring your dog down for a meet and greet to see if they`re fast friends. He`s a favorite of our training team and will often spend time with them in their office just hanging out. He`d love to find his family for some sweet, cuddly hang out time!Description of Beno from his foster home: `He`s definitely a `play hard, rest hard` kind of dog. He loves walks with a purpose, enjoys a good game of tug, and has a fun sense of adventure. But once he`s home, he`s also a calm, gentle, snuggly couch potato.`
