Story
Check out this big hugger ! Yep you heard right Bruce loves to give hugs. He is a total love bug always ready to smother your face with lots of kisses. Bruce was brought into the rescue after being posted "for free" covered in open bite wounds after being attacked by a pack of loose dogs. After surgery and a month of TLC, Bruce was ready to start his journey to finding his forever home. Because of his past traumatic incident, he can be nervous with other dogs and can be dog selective. He prefers females that like to play with him or to be the only fur pup so he can get all the attention. He loves to make his people happy and is just looking for someone willing to want to do the same for him. He is kennel trained and potty trained.  Can you be Bruce's second chance? ##1855628##

Story
Foster Notes - Mikey is a very smart & playful boy. He loves to play and run around and gets super excited when he sees a stick he really likes. He is housetrained & learning how to master a kennel. He loves to give kisses and great with children.  Mikey was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2033976##

Story
Joey is a beautiful and bouncy boy who is ready for his furever home. He very much enjoys walks, getting scratches and pets, giving kisses, car rides, treats, and soaking up the sunshine. Joey is an amazing jogging/running buddy and would thrive in a home with active humans. Joey is shy with new people, places, and situations. His new family should be prepared to give him the time and guidance he needs to continue his journey to becoming his best, and most secure, self. Overall Joey is a happy, wonderful boy who is ready to share his big heart and wonderful personality with a new family. From his foster: "Joey-and just for more info on him, he's fully potty trained, nervous around people but warms up in two seconds once he realizes they're not a threat. he rarely barks, only if he's protecting you but i barely hear a peep out of him unless he's snoring. with other dogs, he was awkward with one that he met and just got all alpha boy but had his tail wagging the whole time (the dog he met was a puppy, fritz actually, and i think it was just a lot of energy for him). he's all around perfect!" ADOPTION FEE: $425 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.
