Shelter visiting hours are 12 pm to 4 pm - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays Please fill out an adoption application at mamcorescue.org or attend one of our Saturday adoption event. Events are held each Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm at our office: 2721 W Oxford Ave., Suite 6 Englewood, CO 80110 *In order to protect our puppies, we do not allow puppies to attend open events until they have a minimum of two vaccinations. Puppies who are available, but not listed on our weekly Facebook event, are considered "deposit only" puppies. These puppies will only attend the event IF they are reserved through a deposit. You can check the list of puppies attending the open event by checking the event: https://www.facebook.com/MAMCORescue  At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need. The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org. Unless otherwise stated, all of our dogs are mixed breeds. We never guarantee the size, breed, or temperment of any of our puppies.  ##2090098##

Story
Hello, I'm Woodie. I'm a 2.5 year old Stafforshire Terrier/Lab mix. I'm a bit shy, but once I get to know you, I'm the sweetest companion. I enjoy quiet moments, a good scratch behind the ears, and gentle walks. I'm mellow, not much into chaos or loud noises. I prefer the calm, the gentle rhythm of a peaceful day. I may take a little while to warm up, but once I do, I promise you a lifetime of loyalty and love. Adopt me, not just because I need a home, but because I have so much love to give, and I'm waiting to share it with you. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2019900##

Story
Check out this big hugger ! Yep you heard right Bruce loves to give hugs. He is a total love bug always ready to smother your face with lots of kisses. Bruce was brought into the rescue after being posted "for free" covered in open bite wounds after being attacked by a pack of loose dogs. After surgery and a month of TLC, Bruce was ready to start his journey to finding his forever home. Because of his past traumatic incident, he can be nervous with other dogs and can be dog selective. He prefers females that like to play with him or to be the only fur pup so he can get all the attention. He loves to make his people happy and is just looking for someone willing to want to do the same for him. He is kennel trained and potty trained.  Can you be Bruce's second chance? ##1855628##

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 All animals are UTD on vaccines (may need boosters) and microchipped **BamBam was adopted as a young puppy. She started to have issues with the other dog in the home as she became an adult. Eventually the adopters surrendered her back to us as a result. BamBam would do best as the only dog in her home. She does okay here and there with other dogs, but is unpredictable long-term and we therefore feel that being the only dog in the home would be her best chance for success.** From the foster: Mayday mayday! Code Red! SOS! Let me formally introduce myself. I'm BamBam. I'm looking for a place to permanently hang my harness; I'm looking for a human that will love me as much as I love them; I'm looking for a place to call home! I'm a lovely girl, inside and out, with a heart of gold and eyes that are each half blue half brown. I'm already potty trained and know several basic commands, plus I'm super treat-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be easy! I love being by my human, but I am crate-trained too! Can you believe I'm also great on a leash?! When it comes to fetch, I'm all in-I get so excited that I'll dance and spin for you! I can be a Nervous Nelly, but I'm MOST nervous that I'm going to have a hard time finding a forever home. Because of my anxiety, I'd feel most comfortable in a home without other dogs. A home with a structured routine and experienced dog parent who can build trust with me would help me build my confidence. My foster mom says someone is going to be so happy to have me as their best friend, and I can't wait! Look what I can do!! Good on a leash Crate-trained Well-behaved Great solo dog Quiet (only barks to alert) Playful Cuddly www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
