0321093 - Hi! This sweet girl is Zoey (or "Zo Zo" as we call her in her foster home). Zoey came to Colorado from New Mexico and is ready to find her forever home. Zoey is a 4-5 year old boxer mix and weighs roughly 50lbs. She is a very precious and sweet girl who loves affection, loves to give kisses and loves to get belly rubs. She will follow you around the house to see what you are up to (and to be by your side). She will also cuddle up next to you and let you love on her all day long! Zoey is crate trained, potty trained, sleeps all night and likes to go on short leashed walks to take in the new sights and scents of Colorado. She is also spayed and UTD on her vaccines. Zoey has two foster doggy siblings. Although they are all working on getting along, she is still a bit testy with them. She may be happiest as an only dog, but if you have a mellow dog she may also do fine with a proper introduction to make sure that everyone gets along. She has been introduced to her two kitty foster siblings, and doesn't show much interest so a home with cats would be fine. Zoey would do best in calm environment where someone is home most of the day. I am a graduate of a wonderful and comprehensive dog training program, where I learned all of my basic commands (and a few fancy ones, too) so I could be fully prepared to be the best girl I can be for my new home! I am fully crate trained and can sleep all night in my crate (full disclosure: my favorite spot is to sleep snuggled up to my 13-year-old human foster sister). My ideal home would be one with lots of love. I love attention, pets, snuggles. Keeping up with my amazing training skills is easy as I am very food motivated! I am currently fostered in a home with one other dog, and I have become BFF's with her. Through proper introductions, I get along well with other dogs. I love my foster sibling and would do well with another dog similar in size to me who also likes to wrestle and play (please check out my videos). I am a lover, not a barker, with such a sweet disposition that everyone loves. My ideal home can absolutely include older children, as I do love kids! What we know: 3 puppies came to us from South Plains SPCA in Texas. They were pulled off the Euthenasia list with mom who is being rehomed in Texas. From the foster: Aly is a gentle, affectionate girl who thrives on closeness and reassurance. She loves knowing where her people are at all times and is happiest when she’s near you, especially if snuggles are involved. Rope toys are a favorite, but cuddles definitely top the list. Aly is still building confidence with the outdoors. She prefers to be carried outside, and while she will pee in the grass, going number two is a bit harder for her right now especially when it’s cold. When she gets chilly, she just wants to run back inside. She is extremely food-motivated and eats quickly, so we’ve introduced a slow feeder to help her slow down and feel more relaxed during meals. Aly has been an excellent sleeper and currently sleeps through the night in a large kennel with her sister, using a cozy bed on one side and puppy pads on the other. Since she will be sleeping solo for the first time in her new home, the first few nights may come with a short adjustment period, which is very normal for puppies. With consistency and reassurance, she should continue to do great. She has also been wonderful with our 5- and 6-year-old boys, showing a sweet, gentle nature around kids. From the foster: Miso is a special girl. She is incredibly trusting of humans and is the happiest when she is with you. She loves to snuggle and play with bears or chew on bones. She has never met a treat or meal she didn’t like. However, Miso should be an only dog and shouldn’t have cats or small livestock in her home. She is working on her socialization with other pets but today she is a bit too interested in others to calm herself. She has shown progress with her foster’s dog though. Miso is a great walker on a leash, loves to spend time outside as a sun bear or seeing the sights with you. She is working on commands like ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and is doing well. She is also fully house trained. She will make a wonderful addition to someone’s family.
