Story
Meet my sweet girl — a Christmas miracle born on December 25, 2016! My family and I brought her home as an adorable 2-month-old puppy, and she’s been the light of our lives ever since. Now 9 years young, she’s still full of puppy energy: super playful, hyper, and incredibly active — she loves zoomies, chasing toys, and turning every walk into an adventure! 🐶✨ She’s the most affectionate, loyal companion you could ask for, always ready for cuddles after playtime and quick to make you smile with her goofy antics. And yes, she’s fully kennel/crate trained — she sees her crate as her cozy safe space for relaxing or when her humans are away, which makes life easier for everyone. Her one little quirk? She’s scared of just about everything 😂— new people, loud noises, even the occasional plastic bag — but with patience and a calm, loving approach, she warms up and shows her true sweet, trusting side. She just needs someone who understands that and gives her time to feel safe.

Story
I have had Bailey since she was just 5 weeks old. My wife found her in a box in LA and we have had her ever since. She is okay with our other dog who she has lived with for 5 years. Unfortunately, she has not been great with our 2 year old. Letting out growls and showing aggression when the toddler is getting too close. She is a great dog, but unfortunately cannot keep her and risk something happening. She has never bit anyone or any dog. She is completely potty trained and will hangout in her bed most days, but loves going on walks and chasing squirrels. It hurts me to let her go but know she will be happier in a house with no/bigger kids.

Story
0321093 - Hi!  This sweet girl is Zoey (or "Zo Zo" as we call her in her foster home).  Zoey came to Colorado from New Mexico and is ready to find her forever home.  Zoey is a 4-5 year old boxer mix and weighs roughly 50lbs.  She is a very precious and sweet girl who loves affection, loves to give kisses and loves to get belly rubs.  She will follow you around the house to see what you are up to (and to be by your side).  She will also cuddle up next to you and let you love on her all day long!   Zoey is crate trained, potty trained, sleeps all night and likes to go on short leashed walks to take in the new sights and scents of Colorado.  She is also spayed and UTD on her vaccines.   Zoey has two foster doggy siblings.  Although they are all working on getting along, she is still a bit testy with them.  She may be happiest as an only dog, but if you have a mellow dog she may also do fine with a proper introduction to make sure that everyone gets along.  She has been introduced to her two kitty foster siblings, and doesn't show much interest so a home with cats would be fine.   Zoey would do best in calm environment where someone is home most of the day.  Zoey needs to be given the love and affection that she deserves and she promises to love and be grateful to you in return.   If you have the perfect home for this precious sweet pea, please fill out an adoption application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##2083574##

Story
0126004 - Meet Ripper! This little 'Ripper' is a 4-month-old boxer mix whose name fits him perfectly—this guy is fearless, confident, and always ready for his next adventure. He loves to explore his surroundings and jump right into playtime with enthusiasm and joy. With his gorgeous brindle coloring and outgoing personality, Ripper is a total fan favorite. Whether he’s stealing hearts at local beer halls or showing off his charm at puppy yoga, he knows how to work a crowd. At home, he’s busy learning his basic puppy manners and is especially obsessed with squeaky toys (the noisier, the better!). In his foster home, Ripper has done wonderfully with other dogs, kids, and cats. He’s social, fun-loving, and would thrive in a home excited to continue his training and embrace all the fun that comes with a growing puppy. If you’re looking for a confident, adventurous pup with movie-star looks and a big personality, Ripper might be your perfect match. To adopt Ripper, complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##2634175##

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transfer In / Other Organization – New Mexico (Española Humane). Approximately 8 weeks old at time of intake. Arrived with one sister. From the foster: Meet 150! 150 is a confident little sweetheart with a big heart and a curious spirit. She’s playful and fearless, happily approaching larger, older dog—always hopeful for friendship, even when her senior companion preferred a quiet nap. After exploring the world around her, 150 happily switches into cuddle mode. She loves climbing onto your lap and settling in comfortably, as if she was made to be there. She strikes a lovely balance between independence and affection—content to explore on her own, then equally happy to curl up beside her people. With her gentle confidence and loving nature, 150 brings warmth wherever she goes. Playful. Brave. Snuggly. 150 is ready to bring joy, laughter, and lots of love into her forever home. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from La Junta Animal Shelter. Believed to be 2-3 years old. Axel was adopted by his foster but ultimately determined their home was not prepared to take on a dog. From the foster: Axel is a very goofy puppy who loves to cuddle and play, he knows a few tricks including sit, stay, kennel, and spin, he’s also been working on his manners when it comes to doors. He is potty trained and has good house manners but will have an accident when he gets too excited or when meeting new people (he’s working on it). He can get a little mouthy when he is excited so we try to keep him as calm as possible when meeting new people. Axel does exceptionally well in a crate and he is very food motivated which makes training that much easier! Axel is smart, food-motivated, and eager to please. He knows how to sit and absolutely loves walks. He’s a high-energy dog who needs daily exercise, but he also settles nicely and can be very calm. He’s an excellent car passenger—often riding shotgun with one paw on the armrest and happily napping. Axel is a total Velcro dog who loves being near his people. He’ll follow you from room to room, help with chores, snuggle, or simply curl up at your feet. He craves affection and gives it right back. He has shown instances of being protective of his people with other dogs, so he still needs more guidance and correction with that sometimes. In general, he can be selective with other dogs so while he is not necessarily bad with them, introductions are very important. We’ve listed Axel as good with kids 10 and up because he gets excited bursts of energy where he’s a little rambunctious and would be a risk for knocking over younger children, and because during times of excitement, he will sometimes initiate play by grabbing hands and arms lightly in his mouth. [UPDATE]: Axel is very anxious meeting dogs at the rescue, less so outside of the rescue. If the timing could work, we would consider an outside meet and greet for Axel given his anxiety when meeting at adoption events. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from Furever Friends, Grant County KS while mom was pregnant. Born in care to Mama Miso, litter of 10 but one stillborn; 5 boys, 4 girls surviving. From the foster: Miso is a special girl. She is incredibly trusting of humans and is the happiest when she is with you. She loves to snuggle and play with bears or chew on bones. She has never met a treat or meal she didn’t like. However, Miso should be an only dog and shouldn’t have cats or small livestock in her home. She is working on her socialization with other pets but today she is a bit too interested in others to calm herself. She has shown progress with her foster’s dog though. Miso is a great walker on a leash, loves to spend time outside as a sun bear or seeing the sights with you. She is working on commands like ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and is doing well. She is also fully house trained. She will make a wonderful addition to someone’s family. If you're ready for a loving, smart and snuggly pup then Miso may be for you! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
