Story
We got Belle from the shelter as a puppy. She is 5.5 years old and has tons of energy! She would be perfect for an active family that could take her for long walks, runs, or hikes. When she’s not running she likes to sit beside you and lay her head in your lap for pets. She does really good with one of our dogs but not the other one so that is why we are having to rehome her.

Story
Scarlett clearly hasn't had the best start in life but she has completely moved on from the past and is one happy, excited girl to start her new life. She loves her foster home and just wants to be loved. She still has all the puppy energy so a fenced yard will be needed. She would love fur and human siblings, she loves to play. Scarlett is an all around perfect dog, she just loves everyone. She is beyond sweet and affectionate and would make the best companion. She is potty trained and enjoys baths, car rides, anything you throw her way. She is super smart and learned a command within minutes. She is about 1 year old and weighs 50lbs. Story
Are you lonely? Are you looking for a dog who will cuddle you like you're the best thing since sliced bread, but will also go on that hike you can't get anyone to go on with you? Then meet Miss Patchy. She is house trained, crate trained, dog friendly and submissive. Could be good with cats but needs a cat who's dog savvy. She loves people and kids. Rides well in the car. Can self entertain when the other dogs are done playing with her. But mostly she just wants a person to love! Are you interested in adopting Miss Patchy or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Story
I am looking to rehome my dog Baxter which is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. He is a 4 year old mixed breed. We have had him since he was 3 months old. We got him from a rescue where we used to live in New Jersey. He is a very sweet boy who loves attention and definitely needs play and exercise. He LOVES other dogs. He can be nervous with strangers unless they have a dog, so I think it would be best for him to be in a home with another dog. The reason that we must find him a new home is due to my 2 year old son being allergic to pet dander. I have tried my best to work around it since we discovered my sons allergy, but I don’t feel that it is fair to my dog to be kept away from us so often. I can tell he is bored and lonely even though I’m trying my best to give him attention. Thinking of not having Baxter anymore breaks my heart, but I have to think about what is best for him and my son. He is a great dog and I want him to have a great life.

Story
Dale is approx thirteen years old, 53 pounds and is an American Staffordshire mix. He is a wonderful goofy character! Dale was picked up by animal control as a stray.  He was starving and looked like he had given up and was on his way out. A week into fostering and he popped back, playful, enjoying food and toys! He is great with other female dogs and fantastic with people. His foster writes: "Dale is so loving. I rub his head and give him kisses and he literally melts into my hands. He's such a good boy! He is going to make a great dog for someone!"  Dale loves his milk bones and playing with his toy bone (see hilarious video). Dale is healthy and fully vetted. Dale has visual impairment due to a detached retina and we had some of his teeth pulled that caused him pain.  He doesn't let his lack of sight stop him!  He learned his way around his fosters house and yard very well!  Dale is a playful soulful boy, one of our favorites.  Many years ahead for this boy snatched from the jaws of death!  He loves to be the life of the party and looks for anyone who might have a good treat or love to give him!  He has never met a person he didn't like!  He is also a hoarder.  He likes to shoe shop in his foster mom's closet and take all the shoes to his crate!  He doesn't chew them, he just likes to collect them!  He also likes to wander around the house and get his brothers and sisters food bowls and carry back to his crate.  At least she knows where to find anything missing!   If you are interested in finding out more about Dale, please fill out an adoption application online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!    May 12, 2024, 6:55 pm
