Story
This little guy may be low to the ground, but his affectionate nature reaches new heights. Naveen is a people enthusiast, and he thrives on human companionship. From gentle ear scratches to cozying up, he's happiest when surrounded by his favorite people. His tail wags with excitement, and his soulful eyes light up when he's showered with attention and affection. While his love for people is undeniable, he's also a bit of a "nervous nelly." New situations can make him a tad anxious, but with a patient and understanding adopter, he blossoms into a devoted and loyal friend. A calm and reassuring environment will help him build confidence and showcase his true, loving personality. Naveen's unique physique adds to his charm, and his endearing low-to-the-ground stature makes him an absolute heart-stealer. If you're looking for a canine companion who appreciates a cozy lap, and just needs a little extra TLC to overcome his nervous tendencies, this guy might be the perfect match for you. Open your heart and home to this lovable low-rider, and watch as he transforms into the most devoted and affectionate member of your family.

Story
Dale is approx thirteen years old, 53 pounds and is an American Staffordshire mix. He is a wonderful goofy character! Dale was picked up by animal control as a stray.  He was starving and looked like he had given up and was on his way out. A week into fostering and he popped back, playful, enjoying food and toys! He is great with other female dogs and fantastic with people. His foster writes: "Dale is so loving. I rub his head and give him kisses and he literally melts into my hands. He's such a good boy! He is going to make a great dog for someone!"  Dale loves his milk bones and playing with his toy bone (see hilarious video). Dale is healthy and fully vetted. Dale has visual impairment due to a detached retina and we had some of his teeth pulled that caused him pain.  He doesn't let his lack of sight stop him!  He learned his way around his fosters house and yard very well!  Dale is a playful soulful boy, one of our favorites.  Many years ahead for this boy snatched from the jaws of death!  He loves to be the life of the party and looks for anyone who might have a good treat or love to give him!  He has never met a person he didn't like!  He is also a hoarder.  He likes to shoe shop in his foster mom's closet and take all the shoes to his crate!  He doesn't chew them, he just likes to collect them!  He also likes to wander around the house and get his brothers and sisters food bowls and carry back to his crate.  At least she knows where to find anything missing!   If you are interested in finding out more about Dale, please fill out an adoption application online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!    May 3, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Bonnie is a 2 year old, 49 Lb American Staffordshire Terrier This dog is not part of CrisisDogsNC.  This is a courtesy posting on behalf of Ben with Haven Dog Training.  If you are interested in finding out more, email him directly at email ben@havendogtraining.com  Meet Bonnie. When it comes to homing dogs a sob story sells (and boy does she have one) however, I want someone to adopt her because they want a great dog and not because they want to get a dog on an emotional impulse or to brag about her back story. For anyone I interview as a potential home I will tell you everything I know about her.    Bonnie is energetic, smart, and incredibly sweet. For the right dog person she even has sport dog potential. She was intitially unsure around large men but now will warm up to anyone. She also loves playing with my personal dogs. She’s my ideal pet dog-has a good burst of energy and then will happily sleep the rest of the day away.    Bonnie is crate, house, and leash trained. I want her to go to a home that will incorporate training into their life with her, crate her when leaving her home, and shower her with love. I have taken her on as my personal project and so she is available directly through me. I am in no rush to get rid of her. I am willing to wait for the perfect home. Ideally I want her to go to someone in/around the triangle so I can do a follow up lesson as well as be a resource for life. I also offer boarding to dogs that have been through one of my programs. While she’s been just fine with other dogs as well as an indoor pet rabbit I think she’d thrive as an only dog-she literally cannot get enough love.    If you’re interested in applying to be Bonnie’s new home then email ben@havendogtraining.com with your name, number, and location as well as why you would like to adopt her and I’ll get back to you from there. If you aren’t looking for a new dog but see this-sharing it would be a huge help. The more people that share her,  the more likely she’ll find the perfect home nearby.      May 3, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Allow me to introduce you to Bishop, a handsome 4-year-old pup with a story to tell. Bishop hails from the streets of the south, where he was trying to make it on his own and chasing the wrong type of dames. However, his life took a turn when he ended up in a scary place called "The Shelter." Luckily, he managed to escape just in time and found his way to a better life. Bishop weighs around 55 pounds, and he wants the ladies to know that it's all muscle. But don't let his muscles fool you, he's as sweet as sugar and listens better than most men. He has a mix of boxer, lab, and pitbull in him, but his handsome looks mostly come from his pitbull side. And yes, the ladies love his guns! Unfortunately, Bishop's previous foster home had cats, and they didn't get along well. So, he's currently back in boarding, where he enjoys the company of other dogs and a kind lady who takes him for walks and plays ball with him. Bishop absolutely loves his toys and chasing balls. He can get a bit "mouthy" when teased with toys, but he redirects nicely. He enjoys going for walks, but if he spots a bird, rabbit, or squirrel, he's off like Richard Simmons in a workout video. However, he responds well to correction. Bishop is a goofball who doesn't take much seriously, except for treats. Treats are serious business to him, and he'll do just about anything for one. He loves peanut butter in his kabobs but avoids rawhide to maintain his playboy figure. With his big smile and awesome personality, Bishop hopes to find his forever home. He's fully vetted, which means he's had his shots and is neutered. He is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms using a method called Slow Kill. Bishop is an easygoing, sweet, smart, happy, cuddly, and laid-back dude. He loves exercising, playing catch, and chasing balls, but he also enjoys relaxing and taking naps. He would be more than happy to lounge around in bed and watch TV with his humans. A perfect day for Bishop would involve the three C's: chasing (balls), catch, and chill. He simply wants a best friend, someone to love him and give him the attention he deserves. A house would be preferable to an apartment, but he's open to trying out apartment life if it's a good fit. Bishop is currently in training now and is available for adoption or foster. To learn more about him and start the adoption process, reach outr to us. Wecan provide you with Bishop's portfolio and an application for his forever home. Bishop can't wait to give you wet kisses and steal all your blankets.
