These loyal companions are deeply devoted to their people and thrive when included in daily life. AmStaffs are strong, athletic, and playful, making them ideal for active homes where they can burn off energy and show off their smarts. With consistent training and socialization, they’re often great with other dogs and gentle with children. Confident yet loving, an AmStaff mix is a steady, soulful friend who brings both fun and loyalty into the home. Montana’s Story & Personality: Montana arrived severely neglected—emaciated and covered in wounds—but you’d never know it from his joyful spirit. This resilient boy greets everyone with a smile and a tail wag. He’s housetrained, walks beautifully on leash, and is looking for a home that can match his energy and enthusiasm for life. Montana adores people, especially those who give him attention (bonus points if you’re a delivery driver!). He thrives with structure and would love an adopter who can continue basic training. He’s very intelligent and eager to learn, making him a great student. Because of his exuberance, a home with older kids is ideal—Montana’s happy wiggles and “herding” behavior (yes, he may gently tug your shirt to guide you!) can be a bit much for little ones. He would truly shine in a household that values playful energy, daily walks, and affection on tap. Montana’s Perfect Home: Active adopter or family who can keep up with his energy Fenced yard or regular outdoor time to run and play Older children or teens who can enjoy his goofball nature A confident, experienced dog parent to continue training A family who wants a smart, affectionate, social pup to share adventures Ready to Make Montana Yours? Story
Bonnie is a 2 year old, 49 Lb American Staffordshire Terrier This dog is not part of CrisisDogsNC.  This is a courtesy posting on behalf of Ben with Haven Dog Training.  If you are interested in finding out more, email him directly at email ben@havendogtraining.com  Meet Bonnie. When it comes to homing dogs a sob story sells (and boy does she have one) however, I want someone to adopt her because they want a great dog and not because they want to get a dog on an emotional impulse or to brag about her back story. For anyone I interview as a potential home I will tell you everything I know about her.    Bonnie is energetic, smart, and incredibly sweet. For the right dog person she even has sport dog potential. She was intitially unsure around large men but now will warm up to anyone. She also loves playing with my personal dogs. She’s my ideal pet dog-has a good burst of energy and then will happily sleep the rest of the day away.    Bonnie is crate, house, and leash trained. I want her to go to a home that will incorporate training into their life with her, crate her when leaving her home, and shower her with love. I have taken her on as my personal project and so she is available directly through me. I am in no rush to get rid of her. I am willing to wait for the perfect home. Ideally I want her to go to someone in/around the triangle so I can do a follow up lesson as well as be a resource for life. I also offer boarding to dogs that have been through one of my programs. While she’s been just fine with other dogs as well as an indoor pet rabbit I think she’d thrive as an only dog-she literally cannot get enough love.    If you’re interested in applying to be Bonnie’s new home then email ben@havendogtraining.com with your name, number, and location as well as why you would like to adopt her and I’ll get back to you from there. If you aren’t looking for a new dog but see this-sharing it would be a huge help. The more people that share her,  the more likely she’ll find the perfect home nearby.      November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PLEASE NOTE:  Jett requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can meet him. Our application can be found at  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC. We will be looking for YOUR application!      Meet Jett – Your Loyal Little Sidekick!  Watch the video to see him enjoying the beach/water.   Jett is a sweet, soulful pup with an old soul and a heart full of love. At just a few months old, he’s already crate trained, housebroken, and incredibly in tune with his people. He lets you know when he needs to go out and is making steady progress with leash training. This boy is the perfect blend of playful energy and calm cuddler. He has a friendly, slightly cautious approach to new people but warms up quickly—and once he does, he's all tail wags and snuggles. Jett absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. He's also been respectful around cats and enjoys meeting kids during outings like hikes or trips to dog-friendly restaurants. Jett is vocal when he’s excited to play or needs a potty break, but otherwise he's a quiet roommate. He’s adaptable and does well in small spaces like apartments, especially if he gets regular walks and playtime. A fenced yard would be a bonus since he loves to run fast, but it’s not a must.  He will make a good running companion when he is old enough to safely run with his human. He hasn’t been left alone for long stretches yet, so he may do best with someone who’s home often or has another dog to keep him company. Jett shines with structure, companionship, and love—he thrives when he's part of the family routine. Whether it’s hiking, beach days, car rides, or curling up on the couch, Jett is happiest when he's by your side. He lives to make you smile, and he somehow already understands the joy of bringing happiness to his people. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly, and heart-meltingly sweet pup, Jett might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to be someone’s best friend for life—could that be you? EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Jett's Mother was killed by another dog when she gave birth.  So sad but a rescue saved them and bottle feed them for weeks. After they were bottle feed, Best Friend Pet Adoption admitted two of the puppies.  Jett and Jax are both looking for their forever homes. Can you provide a wonderful home for them?     Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING JETT ? Meet Sydney! this sweetheart just loves to cuddle up with her humans. If you are looking for a faithful companion to hang out on the couch and watch TV, or take on a walk through the park this is your girl! She is good with other dogs, and prefers the calmer ones to match her energy. One unique thing about her is her smile - her lower jaw is quite small, causing her tongue to hang out! This doesn't cause her any issues, it's just a fun quirk of hers. Make sure you don't missout on adding this sweetie to your family.Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/August 21, 2025, 1:33 am

Story
Cleo is an exceptional girl! She just wants all the love and snuggles. She’s house trained, leash trained, and knows commands. She is the absolute best girl around children. Her motherly instincts kick in and she is the most gentle girl with them. She has a great appetite and loves peanut butter. She’s afraid of dog crates, loud noises and water but she will sit like a perfect lady for her bath. Cleo sleeps at the foot of my bed every night and occasionally she will try to crawl into bed with me for a good snuggle. She’s the absolutely the sweetest angel I’ve ever had the pleasure of loving on. Unfortunately the new landlord will NOT allow me to keep her.

Story
Hi there! I`m Vida, a sweet senior gal with a heart full of love and a spirit that`s still young at heart. Despite my age, I`ve got plenty of pep and playfulness left in me, and I`m looking for a family who will appreciate my zest for life. I may have had a rough start, but I`m ready to shower my new forever family with cuddles and companionship. I`ve been described as a social butterfly who gets along well with other dogs, which means I could be a great addition to a home with furry friends. My gentle nature and fun-loving personality mean I`m always up for some gentle playtime or a cozy cuddle session. I`m hoping to find a patient and loving home where I can spend my golden years feeling cherished and adored. Are you ready to give this sweet girl a chance to love and be loved? I`m full grown at ~45 lbs.How did I get here? Transferred from Wake County Animal Center.**I am currently living in a foster home - please fill out a survey and select a phone appointment to complete the adoption process. Once that process is complete, your adoption specialist will schedule a time for you to meet me in person! I have a sophisticated medical history and have been diagnosed with heartworm disease- please speak with an adoption specialist for details.*~My adoption fee is waived thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization.~
