Story
Hi, I'm Cobbler! I am a happy-go-lucky and goofy pup who is potty trained and crate trained. I am still working on manners when it comes to respecting personal space and listening to directions faster. I can get hyped up easily and will hop around awkwardly or run away from things that scare me like I'm channeling Scooby Doo. When I'm not following my human around, I enjoy lying next to them on a comfy couch or entertaining myself by gnawing on a bone on my dog bed. I am still uncertain in new situations and can be dog selective, so dog intros should be slow so I can adjust better. I get along fine with the large dogs in my foster home but I would rather follow the humans around. The younger dog and I often wrestle and have good play sessions. I shouldn't be in a home with cats, I have not played well with the ones I met. To see more pics of me in foster, check out @fosterofdogs on Instagram! Stella is such a shy flower. She has been in a foster home learning to trust and find her place in this world. She is doing so well with the female dog in the home, and is thriving in her own shy way with routine and stability. She just tested heartworm negative (YAY!), and is all up to date on vaccines and preventatives. She will need a patient home where she can have the time she needs to keep moving slowly forward in her quest to trust and love. Story
Introducing the one and only Suzy, the fur-tastic bundle of joy that's ready to light up your life! With a chocolate brown coat that's as sweet as her spirit, and ears so enormous they could catch even the tiniest whisper of a treat bag rustling, she's a pup with personality as big as her heart. Suzy loves playing fetch, tug, and splashing in her kiddie pool. If you're looking for a dog that can have fun in the yard and then stretch out on the couch and chill, Suzy is your girl!Suzy loves her people. She is extremely cuddly and won't hesitate to nap directly on top of you (she's the furry weighted blanket you never knew you needed). Suzy's perfect home would be with experienced dog owners who will truly LOVE training her as much as she loves learning. She is currently learning 15+ different tricks! Suzy is not a fan of the heat and prefers backyard playtime over a walk or hike. She really enjoys training and interacting with her humans. Suzy would do best in an environment where someone is home with her often, as she loves the company of her people.Suzy is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and is already spayed. Suzy would do best as the only pet in her home. She is ready to go home today! For more pictures and videos of Suzy, check out her foster's instagram: @winifredandlouieIf you're interested in learning more about Suzy, please reach out to her foster via email: meredith.canty17@gmail.com or instagram: @winifredandlouie Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 41 Age: 4yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
At 10 years young, Flora is a sweetheart. In true pittie fashion she looooooves her people. Sitting on your lap all day would be her dream come true. Although she moves a little slower these days, Flora still loves her daily shuffle around the neighborhood. She is missing some teeth but LOVES treats and her soaked kibble at mealtime. Flora has very advanced arthritis and would do best in a single story home, with easy access to the outdoors. She is potty trained but she has an old lady bladder so every now and then she doesn't make it outside. Flora has received Librela injections and they have helped her pain IMMENSELY. We recommend her adopter keep up these monthly injections as part of her ongoing care, to ensure quality of life in her final years. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about Flora, feel free to email camilleandthedogs@gmail.com Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 44 Age: 10yrs 6mths 1wks

Story
Meet Lola, the affectionate seven-year-old Staffordshire Terrier with a heart as sweet as candy. This darling pup has a knack for spreading joy, greeting anyone who enters her kennel with big hugs and kisses. Lola is the epitome of gentleness, displaying impeccable leash manners during walks-no pulling, just a leisurely stroll as she explores her surroundings. A volunteer took her home and said she was the perfect guest. She would be the perfect work from home dog. She just wants a couch or a lap to lay on. She seems potty trained and loves to chew on nyla bones. She would be the perfect netflix partner. She would be great in a room when you are away. She does not bark or scratch on the door. Just a perfect lady. During a recent playgroup session,Lola took the time to size up her playmates. Like an expert poker player, she didn't tip her hand to let them know whether she was enjoying them or not. After a while, she finally seemed ready to engage, and we did get several playbows out of her. She tolerated a high energy male dog, and did a lot of tail wagging all while maintaining her stoic poker face. While Lola may not know tricks, her strong food motivation makes her a perfect candidate for learning the basics. With a gentle demeanor and a love for treats, teaching her new skills is likely to be a delightful and rewarding experience for both Corn Muffin and her lucky adopter. It's worth noting that Lola is heartworm positive, but thanks to the generous support from Friends of Wake County Animal Center, she has a $400 sponsorship towards the medical costs for heartworm treatment. It's important to remember that heartworm is not transferable to other dogs, and with treatment being possible, Corn Muffin is on her way to a healthier and happier life. She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Story
Misty, our beautiful fawn Pit Bull female, was rescued from the Wake County Animal Shelter in North Carolina in August of 2023. She was estimated at 3 years old. She is 60 lbs. Misty is happy, super sweet, trusting, and very affectionate! Misty has a lot of energy, and she loves getting exercise, whether running (her dad uses a hands free belt leash) or walking on a leash. When we rescued Misty we were amazed she was already 100% potty trained. A year later she still has never had an accident in the house! We also have a male cat and Misty and the cat get along super well and they play together daily. We are rehoming Misty because prior to her adoption in the summer 2023, in 2019 we had adopted another female Pit Bull named Sunshine. It turns out that Sunshine and Misty do not get along so well. After a year of trying to make things work, we have concluded its best for Misty to be rehomed with a kind family looking for a single dog who is trusting, super sweet, and loving!

Story
I am looking to rehome my dog Baxter which is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. He is a 4 year old mixed breed. We have had him since he was 3 months old. We got him from a rescue where we used to live in New Jersey. He is a very sweet boy who loves attention and definitely needs play and exercise. He LOVES other dogs. He can be nervous with strangers unless they have a dog, so I think it would be best for him to be in a home with another dog. The reason that we must find him a new home is due to my 2 year old son having allergic reactions to his dander and saliva. In addition to the allergies, Baxter gets way too excited and rough with my son despite my efforts to train him. I have tried my best to work with these issues, but I don’t feel that it is fair to my dog or my son. Thinking of not having Baxter anymore breaks my heart, but I have to think about what is best for him. He is a great dog and I want him to have a great life.

Story
Hi, it's me Beans. I wanted to tell you about me thru the eyes of my foster mom. Beans is a great, super sweet, well behaved dog. He is housetrained, crate trained ( sleeps well in crate at night). He knows sit, is very treat motivated (but watch those fingers he really likes food). He likes to cuddle and be with his people. He also walks well on leash. He gets along with my older female dog ( but very slow introductions with any dogs is a must to have him adjust well, him or any new dog). We do not know how he is with cats or children at this time. He is an inside dog and should not be crated all day. He is a youngster and needs lots of exercise. An ideal home would be with a stay at home person. Rides very nicely in the car. He has been neutered, up to dates on all vaccines and microchipped. He is heartworm positive but please don't let heartworms deter you from taking him home, they are completely treatable and non contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center is generously providing a $400 sponsorship toward treatment. If you have any more questions about me you can email my foster mom at dogfosterkim@gmail.com Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 59 Age: 2yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
Halle has blossomed since being in foster for a couple of months. She had the unfortunate luck of being stuck in the shelter during the URI shutdown WCAC had late last year and had become quite anxious. In foster, she has had a chance to decompress and show her sweet, fun loving personality. She is a beautiful, curious, mischievous, happy young lady who loves playing and snuggling with her people. She adores my 18 year old son, and seems to especially like young men, but is more wary of older adult males. She warms up to them; it just takes a little longer. She has a strong prey drive, chasing all the small critters she sees in the yard. She was tested and labeled "No dogs" at the shelter. She'd do best as an only pet. Halle is house and crate trained. She is very enthusiastic about food and is still learning proper manners around people who have food. She has shown no signs of food aggression with me. I can take her food bowl away while she is eating with no issue. Halle is getting over her skepticism of new people, but is still quite cautious and can be a little grumbly at first, so introductions should be at her pace. She has proven to be too difficult for me to walk on a leash. She is quite strong and pulls more than I (5' 6" middle aged woman) can handle, especially if she spots another dog. So she hangs out supervised in my fenced backyard, securing the perimeter against squirrels, sniffing, chewing a nylabone, having zoomies and playing tug with a rope toy. She has an impressive vertical jump and climbing skills, and she cleared my 4.5' gate with no problem. Therefore, a 6' fenced yard is a must.
