Story
Big Mama is an affectionate, athletic, adventure-loving 3 year old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix who enjoys going on walks and meeting new people! Big Mama was a hefty girl when she was found, weighing in at over 70lbs, but she is now back to a healthier weight of around 60lbs. Big Mama was found laying in the middle of the road in a neighborhood before a kind couple decided to save her. Unfortunately, they had a pup who was not good with other dogs and with no plan in place for Big Mama, they had to take her to the local shelter. Being a pittie mix, she was quickly put on the euthanasia list after her stray hold was up. Through the tireless networking of her original finders, we became aware of Big Mama and decided to get her to safety! Big Mama is incredibly people friendly and loves to cuddle. She can be unaware of her size at times, so when she's zooming around the yard at high speeds you'd better watch out! Despite her being overweight, this girl can MOVE! When she was staying at her finder's house in the backyard, she would often jump up on their tall patio table to sunbathe! She loves to lounge around when she's indoors, but once she's outside it's gametime! Big Mama has done well with most of the pups she's met, but she seems to do best around medium to large size male dogs. She tends to be more assertive and dominant with other female dogs which most dogs don't appreciate, so a home with only male dogs would be best for her. While she does enjoy playing with others, she does not need a doggy sibling to live her best life! Big Mama is potty and crate trained, knows sit and shake, is very smart, and is good on a leash. Due to her energy level and being unaware of how big she is, she should ideally go to a home without young children. Big Mama is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.

Story
I'm fostering Maximus, a mix who was rescued from the euthanasia list at Harris County by BAMM Rescue from Oregon. BAMM is open to a rescue-to-rescue transfer if a rescue can take him into their program. Maximus has had a tough road but remains a sweet and expressive dog who enjoys attention, going for walks, and exploring the yard. He is crate-trained and takes great baths. Behavior-wise, he does well with some dogs but not all, so introductions should be done carefully. He is gentle with people but he cannot live with cats. Medically, he has completed all three heartworm injections, but has permanent heart damage, which has led to heart failure. He also has masses in the perianal and penile region. Because of his medical issues, Maximus is considered a "fospice" or compassionate care case. We are seeking a special adopter or foster who understands they would be his person for the remainder of his life, guiding him through his final chapter with love & comfort.

Story
Hi there, I’m Jethro Gibbs, but you can call me Jethro! If you’re an NCIS fan, you’ll know I’m named after someone pretty awesome—and I promise I live up to it. I’m a happy-go-lucky Staffordshire Terrier, turning 2 in January, and I weigh 67 pounds of pure love and energy. I was found last November, and wow, what a day that was! I stumbled upon some friendly humans, and before they knew it, I hopped right into their car like I belonged there. When they found me, I wasn’t in the best shape—I had fleas, some scars, a painful ear infection, and an infected wound. But they took me to the vet the very next day, and now I’m healthy, neutered, heartworm-free, and up to date on all my vaccines. I’m super playful and love being around other dogs, big or small. I’m crate trained, but I do miss my people when they’re away—I just love being with them so much! I’m also potty trained, know my commands, and am always eager to please. I’m great with kids, though I think I’d do best with bigger ones since I have a lot of energy and might accidentally knock over the little ones. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving buddy who will shower you with affection, I’m your guy! Will you be my forever family? Story
Meet Tom – The Seat-Stealing Gentle Giant! 🐾🖤 Tom was saved from the euthanasia list at a busy Houston-area shelter and has been waiting in a boarding facility for almost 2 years. He’s more than ready to find his forever family! ✨ What we love about Tom: Kennel superstar – calm, clean, and never destructive with toys or bedding Polite but playful – loves to sneak into your seat for snuggles Friendly with people – he’s never shown aggression Tom may not know his name or basic commands yet, but he makes up for it with his sweet personality and eagerness to connect. Out in the play yard, he’s full of energy and enthusiasm. Because of his size and energy level, we don’t recommend a home with small children. But for the right person, Tom will be an incredibly loyal, fun, and loving companion. 📍 Still waiting in boarding—let’s help this sweet boy finally find the home he deserves

Story
Gumball is a 10 year old brindle, American Staffordshire Terrier. He's potty trained and currently living in boarding. He is good with other dogs and really needs a home to show him some love. Due to some scaring on his neck, he looks like he was living on a chain, but he shows no signs of trauma from his past life. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Gumball, please apply at www.hhfrescue.org.
