Story
Carmelo is a very sweet dog that loves to be your shadow. Our daughter is having to move so we are fostering him and trying to find him a home. We just don’t have the time to be with him on a day to day basis. He gets along well with our toy poodle and two cats and has been great with our youngest son. He has been to two board and trains and knows basic commands but still needs work. He is at his best when he gets good play time each day and then he just wants to cuddle.

Story
Calypso or Callie Girl is a 9 year old little lady. She loves cuddles and can still outrun the best of them playing fetch. She loves to give lots of kisses. Her favorite toy is a Kong She can chew on. She is housebroken and respectful of furniture...though she would love to snuggle on the couch with you. Callie got into a fight with a few roaming pit bulls a few years back that has her nervous and reactive around other dogs. She has always been great around pur nieces and nephews but unfortunately has not reacted well to our daughter. She is very agitated around her and we can no longer keep them together.

Story
Meet Merlin, a young, energetic, and playful dog who is always ready for a game of fetch, a car ride, a long run, a play session with toys, or a walk. He`s friendly and cuddly, making him the perfect companion for cozy nights in. He is fond of petting sessions on the couch, snuggling up close for warmth and companionship. Merlin`s curiosity keeps him exploring and learning new things, making every day an adventure. He knows the sit and come commands. He`s a little shy on occasion, but with a gentle touch and a warm smile, he`ll soon be wagging his tail in delight. Merlin weighs 52 pounds and is house trained and leash trained, a testament to his smart and adaptable nature but he does enjoy leading the way on a leash in case you aren`t sure which way to go. If he runs away while off leash, he`ll come back if you call him. He does have a penchant for chewing, so a few sturdy toys would be a great addition to his new home. He is also a jumper, mostly when he gets excited. He`s a hit with other dogs, always up for playdates at the dog and shared adventures. Cats find his easygoing nature endearing, while children are charmed by his friendly, gentle demeanor. Why adopt Merlin? Because every home needs a bit of magic, and Merlin is ready to cast a spell of love and happiness on his forever family. Story
Meet Cypress, a friendly soul whose vivacious spirit is infectious. His curiosity knows no bounds, making every day an adventure. He`s the epitome of gentleness when taking treats, yet brave when it matters. Cypress was abandoned, but he remains submissive and eager to please. His love for belly rubs is unmatched, and his zoomies are a joy to behold even while he is on a leash. He walks fairly well on one but usually can`t contain his excitement and seems as though he may know something about house training but may need further education. He definitely knows the sit command as he will frequently demonstrate, even when you don`t ask him to do it. Cypress can be a bit jumpy and forceful when trying to get your attention, but it`s all in good fun. His affectionate nature makes him the perfect cuddle buddy. He`s a 53-pound loving lap dog eager to demonstrate how easily he fits on the nearest lap. Cypress is also very attentive, always ready to lend an ear. He was adopted recently and demonstrated that he is gentle, playful, easygoing and friendly with children, showing his caring side, making him an excellent addition to a family with kids. However, he can be food aggressive with other dogs on occasion which is why he was returned. Otherwise he is a great playmate for them but you`ll need to bring your dog to meet him. Adopt Cypress, and you`ll gain a loyal friend who will fill your life with joy, laughter, and unconditional love. Story
Meet Gia, a young, energetic, and smart canine resident of our shelter. She`s a bundle of joy, exuding an infectious playfulness that will brighten up any home. She weighs 30 pounds and has so many hobbies that she can`t keep up. Her favorite are fetch and running but she also loved car rides, tugging, toys, walks, water, and chase. Gia`s a bit shy at first, but once she warms up to you, her cuddly, friendly nature shines through. She`s a noisy chatterbox, always eager to communicate with her human friends. Gia is jumpy and excitable, making every moment with her an adventure. She does need a bit of training, house training and leash walking in particular, but her intelligence makes her a quick learner. She has already mastered the sit, stay, come, no, off, fetch, shake, and wait (for food) commands. If she wanders off while off leash, she`ll come back if you call her. She`s a social butterfly who gets along well with other dogs, making her a delightful addition to a multi-pet household. She is easygoing, friendly, playful, and respectful with them and is a big hit at the dog park. While Gia loves her food and can be a bit protective over her meals, with a bit of training and patience, she`ll learn to share. Gia thrives on companionship and never wants to be alone. Because of her fears and initial behavior at the shelter, she`ll need to live with kids at least 16 years old. Gia is a certified lap dog, always seeking the comfort of a loving lap. Her affectionate, lovable demeanor makes her irresistible. Gia`s full of life and love, and she`s just waiting for the right family to share it with. She was only given up because her human got deployed overseas. Adopt Gia, and let her fill your life with joy, laughter, and unconditional love. (tw 3/15/2025)

Story
Meet Alex, an older puppy who weighs 51 lbs, and almost all of it is love for his humans. He was found abandoned at the shelter and needed to stay with a foster to get healthy. He has now fully recovered and is ready to find his forever family.According to his foster, Alex quickly settled down at home, and showed that he was house trained and leash trained for walks, even if he gets very excited at the sight of the leash. He knows his way around the house and is crate trained. While he had free roam of the house when the family was home, he stayed in a crate when they were away, for up to five hours at times without any accidents. He slept on his bed or on the couch at night and he slept through the night. He eats slowly and is easily distracted mid-meal. He sits for everything from pets to treats or to just say hi. He loves chewing so durable rubber toys like Kong are needed. He is still growing through the puppy phase so you’ll have to keep an eye on him for chewing. Alex is very affectionate and loves to shower you with kisses and he doesn’t discriminate between the face, back of the neck and the ankles. Every part of you gets equal chance at a kiss! He needed to be coached to give some space to his people and he doesn’t understand why there should be any space at all! He lived with a 5-year-old, 80-lb dog who liked playing on his own terms. Alex respected that and did well with him. Given a chance, he loves to run around and play with dogs. It is a good idea to bring your dog to meet him at the shelter. He hasn’t been exposed to cats and has shown only passing interest in them during walks. He hasn’t interacted with children but finds them curious and likes watching them play in the neighborhood. You can contact his foster Ram at CAPdogfoster@gmail.com or (281) 202-9076 for additional details about Alex. You’ll like what you see so please meet him and let him show you what a loving, goofy young boy he is. (rr 3/13/2025)
