Story
Talk about a happy dog! That is the very first thing I thought when I first met Nate Smiles. He really is so happy all the time and always has that big pittie smile plastered all over his face. His happiness radiates like the sun and you'll instantly be in a happier mood with Nate by your side. Not only is his personality just the best, but he's also incredibly handsome!! From his beautiful white coat, to his forrest green eyes, and my personal favorite...his floppy ears! There truly is so much to love about Nate Smiles. Watch his video and fall in love with this happy guy: https://youtu.be/ASycTTx9cpk?si=524NWC2rq4gc4TmL Nate Smiles is a pittie mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 50lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Nate is very dog friendly and has done great with all the dogs we have introduced him too. He's the type that's just happy to be there and included. He has a gentle play style that is more bouncy, romping along side his doggy friends, mixed in with the occasional wrestling match. He is respectful around dogs that don't want to play and he is completely happy and content chilling outside and enjoying the fresh air together or relaxing inside on their dog beds. He knows when to take play breaks and is content either way. Making him a great dog to have if you don't have other animals. Nate is so dog friendly that he attends a playgroup camp with up to 12 dogs playing together. He doesn't need the company of another dog to keep him company nor does he need another dog to help him feel comfortable. He is a confident and happy guy all on his own and would be happy to be the center of your attention. He would also be best in a home with no kitty friends! Nate is more than his stellar good looks and his happy personality, he's super smart too! He knows how to sit and will immediately sit on command even without a treat and will hold that position with ease. It's quite impressive how patient he is especially if a treat is involved. He loves all the treat and will do anything for a treat. He also has shown us that she is crate trained and potty trained as well. Nate is very people oriented, eager to please, and loves a good tasty treat. All the fundamentals needs to help make any additional training with his you want to do that much more enjoyable for you both. He really impressed me by how quickly he responded to every command I gave to him. Nate would love to go to a semi active family in a home with a backyard. He would be a great companion to take with you on walks throughout the neighborhood, take a trip to the beach, play fetch in the backyard, or explore those trails you have saved on the map. He loves booty scratches and ear scratches. You'll really be his bestie when you find his favorite spot is right behind his ear. At the end of the day, this happy guy just wants to be with his person(s). We are willing to test Nate Smiles with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
There's nothing that I love more than a big dog with a gentle soul. Bill Nye has that special spark in his golden brown eyes that instantly draw you in making every moment with him feel unique. He's the kind of dog that wins you over instantly with his loyalty, gentle nature, and loving spirit. Whether he's showing off his funny antics, curling up for some snuggles, or gazing up at you with those soulful eyes, you'll quickly see he's in a league of his own. He will be that dog that you will never be able to forget. Watch his video and fall in love with this sweet boy: https://youtu.be/KOjA3yVb9IU?si=R3ocAg8hKYxrkmrt Bill Nye is believed to be a pittie/lab mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 69 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. When Bill greets new people, he is more on the shy side but it does not take long for him to be leaning into you for affection and slowing inching his way into your lap. That's why we like to call him a distinguished gentleman because of the way he shows his affection with gentle nudges and thoughtful closeness. He's never over the top either or love bombing you with you kisses. He gives you just enough and will gladly offer more if you ask. It's the perfect mix. You'll see in his video how happy and excited he gets with the people the he loves. His inner puppy comes out and he turns into the happiest wiggliest guy. Just image coming home to that type of greeting every time you walk through the door. This boy sure does know how to make you feel special and like the most important person in the world. Bill is dog friendly and did great meeting all of the dogs we introduced him too. His gentle natured personality even shows it self when meeting new dogs. He'll do a little sniff, say hello and then he's off doing his own thing, finding a spot to lay in the grass and bask in the sun, or exploring all the smells. Bill has met a handful of dogs, all with different personalities and has shown us that he has a love for those confident lady friends. He is not instantly playful with other dogs, just like with people, he likes to get to know his friends first before showing his playful side. For the most part, he gives off more of the laid back, distinguished gentleman, hang back and watch type vibes around other dogs. He is completely unbothered when other dogs are playing around him having a good time and is even tolerant when the dogs accidentally bump into him during a play session. He just stands there and has this look of, "oh sorry friend, I didn't realize I was in your way." LOL that really is the best way to describe him, a chill laid back gentleman. When he does play, he loves to play chase and run as fast as he can in circles around the yard with his best friend chasing him. It's a true joy to watch. In a home, Bill would be best placed with a lady furry friend that gives him some time to warm up, enjoys the company of other dogs, and appreciates a game or two of tag you're it. He would also do great as your one and only too if you don't have other dogs. He does not need the company of another dog to help him feel comfortable or to fulfill his energy needs. He would thrive in a home with a backyard where he can sunbathe, porch sit with you, and just enjoy the fresh air. He is a mellow guy and more of a Netflix and chill, movie marathon, dinner at home date night type of buddy. He'll gladly go on a leisurely walk through the neighborhood or hangout with you in the back yard while you garden. It doesn't take much for him to make him happy, he's a laid back home body looking for a cozy bed to sleep on and a family to love him. Bill is very gentle when taking treats, walks like a true gent on leash, is crate trained and potty trained, and has wonderful house manners. We have not seen Bill with kids just yet and we can certainly arrange that for you. Based off what we know about him so far, we believe he would do best with older kids due to their calm natures as well. We are willing to test Bill Nye with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. There is nothing more that I love than a big boy with a big ole blocky head with the best face wrinkles to match. I can also certainly guarantee that we are thinking the exact same thing. Buster Butters eyes are some of the most captivating, soulful, full of life eyes you have ever seen. The type of golden green eyes that makes most people jealous. Buster Butters is more than his handsome good looks though. He is the definition of happy, loves loves loves people, always up for an adventure, smarter than a whip, and loyal to his core! Watch his video and fall in love with this meathead: https://youtu.be/3A9EfQlt9Uk?si=WrPr3rxi_gZKNbMx Buster Butters is pittie mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 65 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. One thing that is certain with Buster is his love and devotion to people. He has so much of it that you don't even need another dog because his loyalty is equivalent to 5 dogs combined. It's one of the first things I noticed about him. These qualities are what makes him a perfect candidate for being for your one and only. He is dog friendly and can pass other dogs out on a walk and is overall friendly. What would make Buster the happiest, is being your one and only fur baby in the home to soak up all the love and companionship. To add to Buster's greatness, he is also incredibly smart and treat motivated too. He loves to make people happy and will do anything for a treat. Yes, he loves treats but that's not what drives him. What drives him is his sense of devotion to his person. He was born to make you happy and to please you. Both great qualities to have for learning new tricks and further continued training if you so please. He already knows a handful of tricks already such as sit, shake, and drop it. His house manners are pristine, never getting into things he shouldn't be and is crate trained and potty trained. Even if he did get into something he shouldn't, all you gotta do is call his name and he's already sitting by your side. Buster is a 10/10 good boy! He will thrive with an adopter that will provide him with structure, leadership, and companionship. Buster has a great sense of adventure! He would love to go explore those hiking trails you have pinned on the map, join you for a day trip to the beach, or even going on a camping trip. We see him being such a great adventure buddy that you could almost take anywhere. He is decent to walk on a leash only pulling ever so often when he gets excited and only needs a subtle correction and he's walking like a gentleman again. He would also be just as happy going for a walk in the park or playing a game of fetch in the backyard if you're not feeling up for an adventure that day. He is what we would call medium energy and can be whatever you need him to be. Regardless of what the day looks like, Buster will end every day snuggled up with you in bed, on the couch, or on his own doggy bed, enjoying the rest of a relaxing evening by your side. As far as the type of home he go into, there are a couple of environments for him that we think he would thrive in. We can see him loving living in a condo type household somewhat in the city area, maybe not directly in the heart of the city but on the outskirts. We also can see him thriving in a home in the suburbs with a backyard. He doesn't need the space of a big backyard but we're sure he would enjoy sunbathing and porch sitting with you. He would be a great companion to have if you work from home as well because he loves toys and will entertain himself with a stuffy toy. Especially, if it has a squeaker, he loves squeaky toys and he will make it his personal mission to get that forsaken squeaker! We are willing to test Buster Butters with anything you need us to in order ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Meet Ernie — the beautiful chocolate staffy mix (we think!) who is equal parts handsome, goofy, and heart-melting. This boy walks through life looking like he was created by someone who wanted a dog that is 50% muscle, 50% couch potato, and 100% derp. His smile is pure pittie perfection, and everything he does — from the way he trots, to the way he turns his head, to the way he makes decisions — is guaranteed to make you laugh. Ernie is the king of the random sploot. This man will sploot anywhere, anytime, under any circumstances. Meeting a dog? Sploot. Walking across the yard? Sploot. Being asked to please just stand up for one second? Nope — sploot time. It’s his signature move and he is very proud of it. Honestly, if splooting were a profession, Ernie would be the CEO. Need to see the sploots for yourself? Go watch Ernie's video! https://youtu.be/7mzcU2qX6fI?si=eo4AeXZk198oY4sR He’s such a sweet, gentle soul. He LOVES people and melts into affection the second someone gives him attention. With kids, he was unbelievably soft and gentle — it was like he instantly knew to tone down his goofiness and be extra careful with tiny humans. He’s loving, confident, and genuinely seems to think every person he meets is a new best friend. With dogs, Ernie is hilarious and incredibly endearing. He desperately wants to play but… he isn’t entirely sure how. He’ll watch other dogs run around like, “Whoa… what is this? How do I join?” Then he’ll trot next to them doing his little tippy taps, following the fun like the sweetest, most confused sidekick. He did great with every dog he met and would thrive with a confident, easygoing female who can show him the ropes, tell him when he’s being awkward, and help him understand the rules of doggy playtime. He also won’t mind being the only dog — he’s flexible like that. Now, cats… Ernie has made it VERY clear that he is far too interested in them. So we’ll make it simple: no kitties for this man. Ernie could absolutely be an apartment dog. He’s surprisingly chill for his size, settles quickly, and sploots even quicker. He loves walks, enjoys sniffing around, and would be the cutest adventure buddy for someone who likes exploring but also likes coming home to a relaxed couch potato. Ernie is silly, gentle, affectionate, wiggly, and wonderfully awkward in all the best ways. He’s the kind of dog who brightens the whole room just by existing. If you’re looking for a big, squishy, splooty boy who will make you laugh daily and love you endlessly — Ernie is your guy. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? If you're looking for a sweet sidekick who's as go with the flow as he is cute, look no further because Cyrus Cuddles is your perfect match! He is all about tail wagging good vibes and going wherever the wind (or you) take him. Whether that's lounging by your side or going on a casual stroll around the neighborhood, his easy going nature is content with it all. Morning walk? Cool beans. Couch nap? Even better. Spontaneous adventure? Let's go! He'll just be happy to be included. Cyris is dog friendly, loves everyone he meets, and is your own personal ray of sunshine. Let's also not forget to mention those adorable freckles perfectly scattered on his face, those beautiful big brown eyes of his, and also those amazing floppy ears. Everything about him is easy to love and easy to be obsessed with. Watch his video and fall in love with this sweet boy: https://youtu.be/XLucwtNPtVU?si=sH_loRNksRYPTfYE Cyrus Cuddles is believed to be a pittie mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 72 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. He is such a go with the flow, “just happy to be here” type of dog. You can be doing some rearranging in the house, unpacking boxes, doing laundry, or just having a super busy day doing chores around the house and there’s Cyrus in the background happy as can be watching all the action. When you're done or need a break from whatever it is you're doing, he will be right there ready to give you all the love and kisses. Cyrus loves affection and loves to be around people. One of the ways he shows his love is by giving you gentle kisses and leaning into to you for hugs. One thing that I also love about Cyrius is that he isn’t the type that is going to lovebomb you and overload with his kisses. He’ll give you just the right amount you’re looking for. His easy going and happy nature would make a great companion for a family that likes to have guests over, family movie nights, and he would even make great dog for someone that works from home because of how easy going he is. If you don’t work from home, that’s fine too. He is use to staying home in his kennel while his foster mom is away for work and she is gone from 8-5pm and she says that he does perfectly fine with that. Cyrus is very dog friendly and has the best time making new friends and is currently fostered in a home with a smaller 30lb older dog and gets along great with her as well. Cyrus’s foster has also fostered some puppies during his time with her and he loved having them there and had so much fun playing with them and he also regularly visits his foster mom’s sister house and she has a 10lb senior dog and he does great with the super tiny dogs too! He is a super goofy fella when he is playing with other dogs and has bouncy fun loving play style. He loves to romp around the yard with the other dogs, is also very tolerant of even rambunctious tumble play and will even engage in rumble tumble play. In a home, Cyrus would do best with a happy go lucky dog like himself. A doggy friend that enjoys romping around in the yard together, one that enjoys lighthearted wrestling matches, and also a friend that enjoys those relaxing moments as well. If you don’t have other dogs, that’s totally fine too! Cyrus does not need a dog to help him feel comfortable and to open up, he is a loving happy guy all on his own and he’ll love being the center of our world. When it comes to training, Cyrus already knows a handful of basic commands such as sit and is eager to please. He loves treats, takes them very gently, isn’t picky about treats either. He loves them all. Cyrus is very easy to walk on a leash and isn't phased by people walking past him, dogs in the distance, or even when loud lawn mowers are near by. We can see him being a great companion to take with you to farmers markets, leisurely strolls around the neighborhood, and taking him with you to your local coffee shop. Cyrus is also crate and potty trained as well and has wonderful house manners. The ideal home for Cyrus would have a backyard where he can stretch his legs, romp around with his new doggy sibling, hangout with you while you garden, and sunbathe during those nice summer days. He is an easy going medium energy fella that has a playful side, also paired with a calm couch-potato soul underneath it all. He would do best with a semi active family that enjoys going on walks and looking for a snuggle bug to lounge around with at the end of the day. He is best of both worlds! We are willing to test Cyrus Cuddles with anything you need to ensure it’s a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Meet Toby — the official Mayor of Wiggle Town and the happiest little pitty/staffy mix (no promises!) you’ll ever meet. At just around 2 years old and the perfect fun-size, Toby greets the entire world with full-body wiggles that start at his nose and end at his tail. People? Wiggles. Dogs? Wiggles. Kids? Wiggles. Cats? Also wiggles. Complete strangers walking by minding their business? You guessed it — wiggles. Toby doesn’t overthink life; he simply chooses joy every single day. This boy is sweetness wrapped in a chunky, adorable, kissable face. He takes treats so gently you can actually feel his soft little lips graze your fingers. He already knows “sit,” loves praise, and melts instantly the second you show him kindness. He’s a total toy lover — especially tug of war — and he brings the same goofy excitement to every game he plays. He’s fun without being chaotic, silly without being wild, and affectionate without being overwhelming. He really is that perfect mix of playful and polite. Watch Toby wiggle non-stop in his video! https://youtu.be/BF9NwHkQToo?si=o6R0HnFtzIMIwzGG Toby absolutely lights up around kids. He did amazing with a little girl who offered him fries, toys, and cuddles, and he handled it all with patience, gentleness, and full-body joy. He’s the kind of dog who adores being part of a family and would happily soak up all the attention children can give. Because he’s so wiggly and happy, older kids (around 7+) would likely be his best match — but he’s truly a sweetheart. With other dogs, Toby is a total social star. He did wonderfully with every dog he met — friendly, appropriate, eager but respectful. He’s a bit of a rough-and-tumble player once the zoomies start, but he also knows how to take breaks, wander off on his own, or leave another dog alone when they’re done playing. He’d thrive with a medium-energy doggy sibling who likes to romp, but he’d also be perfectly content soaking up all the love as an only dog. He even did well with the cat he met — curious and friendly, not over-the-top — but because he was a bit distracted, we’d recommend an overnight cat test if his future family has kitties. Nothing major — just making sure everyone gets along. Toby is the definition of adaptable. He’s quiet, good on leash, and not much of a puller, so he’d likely do great in an apartment. Once the adventures are done, you can absolutely expect him to become the world’s softest, happiest little couch potato. He’s loving, calm when he needs to be, smart, silly, and so ready for a home that will adore him as much as he adores everyone he meets. Toby is more than just a good dog — he’s a heart-melter, a mood-lifter, and a daily dose of joy. Whoever takes him home is getting a loyal best friend who will wiggle his way into their life and never, ever leave their heart. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
