Story
To my future owner, My name is Boone and I am a two year old neutered Asian shepherd mix. I have been living with my family since I was a little puppy. I love them so much, but sometimes I get very protective over my human children with their friends. This makes my Mom and Dad nervous, and they have decided to re-home me. I am going to be super sad without them and I am a really good dog and wish I could stay. I am completely house-trained so I don’t need to be in a crate. I am pretty lazy and I love being a couch potato and going to bed early. My favorite place is the beach and going on car rides.  I will make a great hiking buddy and love playing with other dogs.   I get scared of loud noises like thunder and fireworks, and that crazy vacuum creature. I am a little bit of a baby when it comes to going out in the rain and taking baths, so not so thrilled about water.   Please give me a chance and I’m sure you’ll love me as much as I will love you.

Story
Meet Buckley — a big, happy bundle of love wrapped in a soft, sandy coat! At just 11 months old and already around 60 pounds (with a little more growing to do), Buckley may be an Anatolian Shepherd mix, and he’s every bit as fun and lively as a young pup should be. He’s bursting with energy and always ready to join in on whatever adventure you have planned. Buckley is a social butterfly who adores people and thrives on attention and affection. While toys don’t impress him much, treats certainly do — and his treat motivation makes him eager to learn and build a bond with his future family. If you’re looking for an affectionate, energetic companion who will happily be your sidekick through all of life’s adventures, Buckley is ready and waiting to meet you. *Reminder* We are currently facilitating adoptions through appointment only. If you arrive at the shelter without an appointment to meet a dog, we may not be able to assist you. Please call the shelter (516-869-6311) during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10AM-4PM) for more information about this dog, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Story
Zia is a 4-year-old Anatolian Shepherd weighing 125 pounds. She’s a gentle soul with a calm, thoughtful presence and just the right touch of silliness. She’s past the puppy chaos and has settled into her favorite rhythm of life: enjoying a peaceful walk, then finding the perfect spot to lay down and quietly observe the world go by. Laid-back, chill, and quietly funny, Zia has moments of playful charm that will catch you off guard and make you smile. She does well with kids and other dogs, making her a wonderful companion for a family looking for a steady, affectionate presence rather than constant high energy. Zia would thrive in a home that appreciates relaxed walks, quiet afternoons, and a dog who’s happiest simply being near her people—watching, listening, and soaking in life together. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion with a soft heart and an old-soul vibe, Zia might be your perfect match. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments.
